I’m really not sure whether we crown them both emperors or something, or throw gummy sharks at them when they walk in the door. I’ve learned to laugh off my disaster movies, to be sure, but hm...What do you think?

I’m guessing I’m probably not busting your bubble too hard when I say that there’s no way L.A. will let that happen, no matter what anyone says.

New Maps Reveal California’s Sensational Seafloor Geography

“AN UNPRECEDENTED EFFORT to map the seafloor bordering California’s coastline has produced some of the most detailed, beautiful and useful maps of an underwater landscape ever made.No fewer than 18 state and federal agencies and institutions led by the US Geological Survey banded together to make these maps. A staggering amount of work went into the California Seafloor Mapping Program, and the results are impressive. “Nowhere else in the world are people pursuing comprehensive seafloor mapping at this scale,” said USGS geologist Sam Johnson, the agency’s lead scientist on the project. “It’s really unprecedented globally.” The maps could be important for studying things like navigation safety, coastal erosion and sea level rise, fisheries, and earthquake and tsunami hazards. The maps have already yielded a ton of new information for scientists, along with a few surprises. For example, in Bodega Bay, the San Andreas fault is actually located about 800 meters away from where it was thought to be.”

((This is exactly why I shouldn’t ever look at Buzzfeed at 1 AM. This article is a thing, and it went even further downhill from there.

The first time I draw most of these guys in forever (or at all!), and it’s in bad bras... For the record, the reason Utah is way more ripped than you’d think is that he’s one of those people who would free climb a canyon wall with his mountain bike strapped to his back so he can go for a ride when he gets to the top. Do not try to out-extreme-sports Utah. You will lose.))

((Whoops I did not see this the other day, gahhh. Thank you! I honestly did not feel like this is a particularly confident set of doodles, actually. I'm rusty and I thought it was so sketchy and the fact that I haven't drawn consistently in months really shows and bluhhhhh. I am glad to have someone telling me I'm wrong here!))
