"No more boops," she conceded, raising her hands in surrender. "Gotcha." She managed an awkward, stilted open-armed bow, of the kind she'd seen Rivan adopt before when paying his respects. It seemed like the right move, just from how often she'd seen him do it. "Won't happen again."
She took a deep breath. "I've thought it over, by the way. What you offered when I got here. You need someone who understands humans, and I need," to feel useful, she thought, but didn't say. "A place to stay, and a job," she said.

At the touch, they went immediately still and unusually ridged, and they stayed perfectly motionless for two seconds before turning toward the human and blinking deliberately. "How unusual. Was there a particular purpose for that touch?"

"Well, mostly I just wanted to see what would happen if I did that," she says, holding back a giggle. "Rivan's right, you really are unwavering in your patience."

Lyta was keenly aware that she was being observed, and had some trouble deciding how she felt about it. "I don't think grief is a big enough word to cover it," she muttered to herself. "Seems like every single time I start to have some idea of why I'm here, what I'm for, something comes along and rips it out of my hands."
Why was she even saying all of this? To this being she'd only just met, and was already projecting all these other feelings onto? Get a grip, she told herself.
"But I'm getting away from myself," she said with a nervous laugh. "If you're right, and there may be some place for me here... what exactly do you have in mind?"

Lyta exhales quietly. She's had about enough of this. I'd have loved to see you try, she thinks to herself, telepathic blocks sturdily in place to make sure her internal monologue stays an internal monologue. "Yeah, well, when you can do what I can do, you don't exactly get a choice," she mutters wearily.

Lyta needed a minute upon hearing that. She'd always known her ability as something tightly regulated and controlled, something tolerated for its usefulness because the alternative was being considered a threat. But here, the kind of regulatory infrastructure that she'd been brought up to revere seemed nonexistent.
"...So do you not have widespread telepathy here, or are you just unusually okay with treating us like people and not sentient listening devices."
She supposed she should be happy? If nothing else, she was finally free of the Corps for good. That in itself was worth celebrating. But she was too preoccupied with the bigger picture. No widespread telepathic presence meant no Vorlon interference, which meant no war with the Shadows, which meant...
Which meant nothing she'd ever given her life to existed here.
She suddenly felt very dizzy, and was thankful that she'd already sat down. "I think I need a glass of water," she said.

Wow, that quick? Lyta snorts, backing up a little. Is he a telepath? He must be, if he's that wary of her already. How could he tell, otherwise? "I'm not gonna harm you," she says, raising her hands in mock surrender, before carefully reaching out to see just who, and what, he is.

"I'm a trained commercial telepath— you know, sit in on business negotiations, make sure both parties are honest and accountable to one another." It was the bullshit job to end all bullshit jobs, but it was the only one available to her for a while, and as ways of making a living in the Corps went, it was one of the less annoying ones. "I can also do forensic work, though I switched over to commercial after a real bad time on a job, so I'm not as experienced in that area. Will it be an issue that I don't have a current license?"

She began the form, and immediately hit a snag.
Name: Lyta Alexander
Species:
She paused on that. Could she even be called human after how much she'd been altered? Hell, telepaths were barely considered human at all where she came from.
Species: Human Telepath
That would have to do.
"I've got a credit account," she said. "I'm not rich, but I don't expect charity. And I'm willing to sell my services if need be."

Lyta breathed a sigh of deep relief. They were willing to start over, and they hadn't said anything about her frankly embarrassing fawning, so she must have done a good job of keeping a lid on it.
(Rivan, regrettably, was flashing her the biggest pair of dinner-plate eyes she'd ever seen. He was onto her. Worse than that, he pitied her. Even though he was as telepathically impervious as any Founder, that was written all over his face.)
"I used to serve an ancient race known as the Vorlons," she began. "They were guardians of... unity, and order. Not unlike how the Vorta talk about you. In fact, I was to their ambassador a lot like that little guy is to you. And it was... Bliss beyond compare. For a while."
She was tempted to just stop there, but they'd asked for the story of how she got here, and that's what she'd give them. "The ambassador I served was killed while fighting against their enemy, another ancient civilization we just called the Shadows. And their replacement was. Not as kind as they'd been, to me or anyone else. They were in the habit of ordering the destruction of any planet they even thought might be harboring Shadow agents or philosophy."
Again, she locked eyes with Rivan, and had the distressing realization that the scenario she was describing was probably his worst fear— the death of one who had come to care for and be endeared by him, and reassignment to someone who only saw him as a tool for their agenda. "The war between the Vorlons and the Shadows ended with them both being exiled, which, sure! That was great for the rest of the galaxy. But the thing is, my entire existence for the past three years had been all about the Vorlons. I didn't know who I was without them. So what do I do, I beg them to take me with them, or—" her voice breaks, but she recovers as quickly as she can, "or to kill me, if they didn't have a use for me anymore. And instead, before they went beyond the Rim, they used the last of their power to send me here. And I think they thought it was kindness. Sending me to another universe where I might be able to find a place, instead of making me keep going without them in that one."
❛ If you had been unable to control your impulses like an animal, we could not have let you live. ❜

He didn't have a brain. That was the most obvious possible answer he could have given, and it explained everything. "Neither do I, apparently," she muttered, thumping her head in exasperation. "Sorry. Was that offensive? Anyway, I'm here on this station because I happened to end up here, and don't have anywhere else to go. And I'm here in your office because I figured the best thing to do would be to let you know right away that I'm not a danger to anyone and could use some help getting settled here."

Ow. He wasn't just blocking her— he was completely impervious. She'd never experienced anything like that before in her life, and she used to scan aliens for a living. She felt like she'd just run at full speed into a brick wall. Never doing that again, she thought, breaking off any attempt to scan him as soon as she realized it wasn't going to bear fruit, and was in fact making him even more suspicious of her.
"Here as in on this station, or in your office?" she asked. The answer would be the same either way— she didn't really have any other place to go, and somehow, she'd ended up here. As such, she needed help getting settled, and the office of the chief of security was a good place to start.
Fuck it, she thought, guess I'm going to have to do the whole spiel. Honesty's the best policy or something. "I'm a telepath. And I've never seen anything like you before in my life, so I was trying to figure out what you were, just so I'd know what to expect... except it didn't actually work— how did you do that, by the way? Usually when someone's blocking me I can tell, but with you, it's like banging my head against a wall."

Something in her softened, without her really intending for it to. She'd expected them to keep treating her like most people treated her— like a living weapon that was liable to go off in whichever direction she was pointed. They didn't. It was downright disarming. "Guess I'm no fool, then," she said with a an attempt at a smile.
She hated this. She hated that after all this time, faced with something so old and so quiet and so suffused with the kind of methodical, calculating wisdom that was so familiar to her from her time with Kosh, her first instinct was to fold. Nothing good ever came of that instinct. The only difference between her and Rivan, who was currently standing two paces behind the Founder and awaiting orders, was that she had the good sense to keep a tight lid on it. "And... I'm sorry. We didn't exactly get off on the right foot."

"...yeah, I figured it would be something like that," Lyta said. She wasn't an idiot. She knew how things worked, and even if Odo was a telepath— which he clearly was— chances were, scanning the suspect himself would count as an abuse of power. Which was the beauty of her position. No power to abuse. "I don't usually do forensic work, but I'm trained in it. Do you want to tell me what the charges are, or am I just gonna have to find that out myself?"
"Why do you need my help? — Lyta Alexander @goldensea-muses
Odo really didn't enjoy asking for assistance from anyone, but especially specialists. They were always so patronizing. He looked almost as unhappy as he was when he said, "The Federation feels, given the ongoing tension betwen my people and them, that it would be best to confirm any and all of my findings. Which means you are here to scan the suspect and file your own report."

DUNE (2021) SENTENCE STARTERS
❛ Dreams are messages from the deep. ❜
❛ Why do we have to go through all of this when it’s already been decided? ❜
❛ You look tired. More dreams? ❜
❛ There is no call we do not answer. There is no faith that we betray. ❜
❛ So, it’s done? ❜
❛ Can I trust you with something? ❜
❛ I’ve been having dreams. ❜
❛ That’s a good omen right there, right? ❜
❛ I saw you lying dead. Fallen in battle. ❜
❛ Dreams make good stories, but everything important happens when we’re awake, because that’s where we make things happen. ❜
❛ I need you by my side. ❜
❛ I want you sitting in on my council, learn what I do. ❜
❛ If your answer is “no” you’ll still be the only thing I ever needed you to be, my son. ❜
❛ I found my own way to it. Maybe you’ll find yours. ❜
❛ Don’t stand with your back to the door. How many times do we have to tell you? ❜
❛ That’s rude. ❜
❛ I’m not in the mood today. ❜
❛ You fight when the necessity arises, no matter the mood. Now, fight! ❜
❛ You don’t get it, do you? You don’t really understand the grave nature of what’s happening to us. ❜
❛ You have to be ready. ❜
❛ When is a gift not a gift? ❜
❛ Not a word of this to anyone. ❜
❛ Remember your training. ❜
❛ Defiance in the eyes, like his father. ❜
❛ Come here. Kneel. ❜
❛ How dare you use the Voice on me? ❜
❛ Why are you doing this? ❜
❛ An animal caught in a trap will gnaw off its own leg to escape. What will you do? ❜
❛ I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. ❜
❛ Fear is the little death that brings obliteration. ❜
❛ If you had been unable to control your impulses like an animal, we could not have let you live. ❜
❛ You have more than one birthright. ❜
❛ Do you often dream things that happen just as you dreamt them? ❜
❛ Goodbye, young human. I hope you’ll live. ❜
❛ Did you have to go that far? ❜
❛ Do you see so little hope? ❜
❛ All part of the plan. ❜
❛ How does it feel to walk on a new world? ❜
❛ Let’s get you out of the sun. The heat can kill in this place. ❜
❛ They see what they’ve been told to see. ❜
❛ What do they say about this hell hole again? ❜
❛ If you mean to harm me, I must warn you whatever you’re hiding, it won’t be enough. ❜
❛ When you have lived with a prophecy for so long the moment of revelation is a shock. ❜
❛ You shouldn’t be out here at this time of the day. ❜
❛ I failed you today. There’s no excuse. ❜
❛ They tried to take the life of my son! ❜
❛ I don’t give a damn about your honor. You want absolution? Go catch some spies. ❜
❛ Allow them the dignity of exile. ❜
❛ I give you my word. We would not harm them. ❜
❛ The desert takes the weak. ❜
❛ A hostage? I love it. ❜
❛ I have to tell you, I’ve never come so close to dying. ❜
❛ I respect the personal dignity of any man that respects mine. ❜
❛ Name what you want. If it’s in my power to grant I’ll give it and ask for nothing. ❜
❛ Why don’t you stay. We would honor you. ❜
❛ Honor requires that I be elsewhere. ❜
❛ I know who you are. ❜
❛ You wait till you see it. It’s beautiful out there. ❜
❛ So what happens now? ❜
❛ We won’t make it. You have to evacuate. ❜
❛ It’s getting close, guys. We better abandon the ship now. ❜
❛ There is protocol for a reason, if we take one step out we’re as good as dead. ❜
❛ I recognize your footsteps. ❜
❛ What’s wrong with you? Come on. Let’s go. ❜
❛ You cannot take such risks. You do have responsibilities. ❜
❛ We’ve been set up to fail. ❜
❛ Take good care of your family. ❜
❛ The desert’s not kind to humans either. ❜
❛ I had a vision. My eyes were wide open. ❜
❛ I thought I saw my death, only it wasn’t. ❜
❛ I know you’re pregnant. ❜
❛ Anyone who defies us will fall. ❜
❛ There’s something you need to know about [name]. ❜
❛ I trusted you completely, even when you walked in shadows. Now I’m asking you this one thing. ❜
❛ If anything happens will you protect our son? ❜
❛ Why are you having these thoughts? ❜
❛ I thought we’d have more time. ❜
❛ I should have married you. ❜
❛ I had no choice. ❜
❛ I will do what I can. And you will kill a man for me. ❜
❛ Why not just cut their throats? ❜
❛ Don’t you dare touch my mother. ❜
❛ Kill him. ❜
❛ For hundreds of years we’ve traded blood for blood. But no more. ❜
❛ Here I am, here I remain! ❜
❛ It’s not safe for you here. ❜
❛ I am commanded to say nothing, to see nothing. ❜
❛ The Emperor sent us here to die. ❜
❛ You’re scared. I can see it. Tell me, please, what do you fear? ❜
❛ Somebody help me, please. ❜
❛ You know who you are. ❜
❛ Get off me! You did this to me! ❜
❛ It’s recycled water from the tent. Sweat and tears. ❜
❛ Yet you risk your life to help us. ❜
❛ The storm will be here in a few hours. We’ll be safe here. ❜
❛ Would you bear witness? ❜
❛ You’d make a play for the throne? ❜
❛ He brought you here to kill you. ❜
❛ You’re a lost boy hiding in a hole in the ground. ❜
❛ I’ve seen your dream. ❜
❛ We have to go. We have no choice. ❜
❛ You’re not coming with us? ❜
❛ The mystery of life isn’t a problem to solve. But a reality to experience. ❜
❛ Nothing survives such a storm. ❜
❛ Don’t be frightened. Even a little desert mouse can survive. ❜
❛ You’ll need to face your fears. ❜
❛ You have much to learn. And I will show you the ways of the desert. ❜
❛ I think this is the right direction. ❜
❛ We are not alone. ❜
❛ Do not run. You will only waste your bodies water. ❜
❛ We have powerful friends. You help us off world, you will be well rewarded. ❜
❛ What wealth can you offer beyond the water in your flesh. ❜
❛ Why didn’t you say you were a weirding woman and a fighter? ❜
❛ I would not have let you hurt my friends. ❜
❛ You talk like a leader, but the strongest leads. ❜
❛ Don’t be frightened. Don’t resist. ❜
❛ When you take a life, you take your own. ❜
❛ I want you to die with honor. ❜
❛ You should welcome my blade. This world will kill you. Quicker this way. ❜
❛ Do you yield? ❜
❛ There is no yielding under the Amtal rule, only death is the test of that. ❜
❛ [name] has never killed a man. ❜
❛ You’re one of us now. A life for a life. ❜
❛ [name] needs to get off world. You must have ways. You have smugglers, you have ships. ❜
❛ My road leads into the desert. ❜
❛ If you’ll have us, we will come. ❜
❛ This is only the beginning. ❜

ANNIHILATION (2018) SENTENCE STARTERS
some triggering content may be present! (such as mentions of suicide) feel free to change pronouns / terms / tense as needed!
❛ How long did you think you were inside? ❜
❛ All work and no play, it sounds…not healthy. ❜
❛ I thought you were gone. ❜
❛ I don’t know where it was, orwhat it was. ❜
❛ You must be able to tell me something. ❜
❛ I deserve a better explanation than no explanation. ❜
❛ I saw you. I recognized you. Your face. ❜
❛ I don’t feel very well. ❜
❛ Stay with me, baby. I’m right here with you. ❜
❛ You must be feeling dreadful. It’s a hangover from the sedative you were given. ❜
❛ I want to know what the fuck I’m doing here. ❜
❛ Did he ever mention where he was going, what he was doing? ❜
❛ It’s not easy to move on. ❜
❛ We have many theories, few facts. ❜
❛ We need to come to an agreement about what to do with you. ❜
❛ You’re not going to let me go home? ❜
❛ Is that what you want? To go home? ❜
❛ I was just looking at the moon. It’s always so weird seeing it like that, in the daylight. ❜
❛ I get really turned on when you patronize me. It’s really hot. ❜
❛ You didn’t tell me where you’re heading this time. ❜
❛ I know there’s something strange about this mission. ❜
❛ If you step outside and you look up, we’ll be looking at the same stars. ❜
❛ Don’t you think we should make friends? ❜
❛ You know, I always see you here alone. ❜
❛ The people here put themselves to sleep in the fetal position making cooing noises. It’s freaky, you know. ❜
❛ Do you have to hit on everyone, like all the time? ❜
❛ Under the circumstances, I think I’m allowed to roll the dice a few more times. ❜
❛ What do you think happened to them? ❜
❛ Well, there are two theories of what went wrong. One, something kills them. Two, they go crazy and kill each other. ❜
❛ I am so sorry. And I know what I have to do. ❜
❛ You want to come with us. ❜
❛ You can fight. You can learn. You can save him. ❜
❛ That was a brave choice. ❜
❛ You gotta give me a second. I’m a little disoriented. ❜
❛ We did a food inventory. From the depletion, we’ve been out here for at least three or four days. ❜
❛ So we’ve got no compass, no comms, no coordinates, and no landmarks. ❜
❛ Let’s pack up and get moving. We’ve already lost a lot of the day. ❜
❛ Anything interesting in there? ❜
❛ Okay, just breathe. It’s okay. You’re just fine. ❜
❛ Is it possible these were hallucinations? ❜
❛ It was dreamlike. ❜
❛ Sometimes it was beautiful. ❜
❛ All other lives feel like a lifetime ago. ❜
❛ Volunteering for… this. It’s not exactly something you do if your life is in perfect harmony. ❜
❛ We’re all damaged goods here. ❜
❛ More mutations. They’re everywhere. ❜
❛ There’s beds and bags. You think people are here? ❜
❛ Let’s not jump to conclusions. ❜
❛ "For those that follow.“ I believe that means us. ❜
❛ Okay, so we know what happened to the last group. They went insane. ❜
❛ That was a trick of the light. ❜
❛ I don’t want to stay here tonight. ❜
❛ It’s too late in the day for us to move on. ❜
❛ I gotta leave a day early. ❜
❛ The mystery unraveling? ❜
❛ I’m at least as freaked as [name]. I’m just hiding it better. ❜
❛ What’re you doing up? Not supposed to relieve me until 3:00. ❜
❛ I’m done sleeping for the night. ❜
❛ I’d say you’re confusing suicide with self-destruction. ❜
❛ Almost none of us commit suicide… and almost all of us self-destruct. In some way, in some part of our lives. ❜
❛ Isn’t self-destruction coded into us? Programmed into each cell? ❜
❛ Wake up. Something’s happening. ❜
❛ [name] was next to me. Something took her. ❜
❛ We have to go back. ❜
❛ I’m fine going on my own. You just need to decide whether you’re coming with me or not. ❜
❛ And thanks for the fucking backup. ❜
❛ You’re saying we get out by going deeper? ❜
❛ You lied to them. ❜
❛ I didn’t know what going back meant. Why it would be safer than going forward. ❜
❛ Just… leave me the fuck alone. ❜
❛ That doesn’t make any sense. ❜
❛ It’s literally not possible. ❜
❛ This was a mistake. ❜
❛ What’s really going on here? You think that something may have happened to him? ❜
❛ You think somehow he’s found out about our affair. Has he found out? ❜
❛ I’m not interested in talking, or in anything you have to say. Just get dressed and get out. ❜
❛ You know, it’s not me you hate, it’s yourself. ❜
❛ You lying bitch! ❜
❛ Why didn’t you tell us? ❜
❛ So nothing’s confirmed. Everything’s on their word.
❛ You’re a liar.
❛ Did you kill [name]? Did you lose your shit? ❜
❛ Do you think I’ve lost my shit and we’re gonna fuck each other up? ❜
❛ Oh, God. When I look at my hands, and my fingerprints…I can see them moving. ❜
❛ I’m not the one tied to a chair. You are. ❜
❛ We are disintegrating. Our bodies as fast as our minds. Can’t you feel it? ❜
❛ The person that started this journey won’t be the person that ends it. I want to be the one that ends it. ❜
❛ It’s… in me. ❜
❛ It will be in all of us. ❜
❛ Imagine dying frightened and in pain, and having that as the only part of you which survives. I wouldn’t like that at all. ❜
❛ [name] wants to face it. You want to fight it. But I don’t think I want either of those things. ❜
❛ One by one, all gone, except you. How do you explain that? ❜
❛ I had to come back. ❜
❛ What was I? Was I you? Were you me? ❜
❛ My flesh moves like liquid. My mind is just cut loose. I can’t bear it. ❜
❛ You ever seen a phosphorus grenade go off? They’re kind of bright. Shield your eyes. ❜
❛ If you ever get out of here, you find [name] ❜
❛ We spoke. What was it we said? ❜
❛ It’s not like us. It’s unlike us. ❜
❛ I don’t know what it wants. Or if it wants. ❜
❛ So it was alien. Can you describe its form? ❜
❛ It came here for a reason. ❜
❛ If what you encountered was once alive, it seems it’s now dead. ❜
❛ You aren’t [name]…are you? ❜

THE HUNGER GAMES (2012) SENTENCE STARTERS
feel free to change pronouns / terms / tense as needed!
❛ It’s okay. You were just dreaming, you were dreaming. ❜
❛ We could do it, you know? Take off. Live in the woods. ❜
❛ They’d catch us. Cut out our tongues or worse. ❜
❛ I’m never having kids. ❜
❛ You need to get out of here. ❜
❛ Shh, I don’t have much time. ❜
❛ No matter what you feel, you will be there for her. Do you understand? ❜
❛ Don’t cry. Don’t. ❜
❛ You’re stronger than they are. You are. ❜
❛ They just want a good show. That’s all they want. ❜
❛ You know if you don’t want to talk, I understand. But I just don’t think there’s anything wrong with getting a little bit of help. ❜
❛ Embrace the probability of your imminent death; and know, in your heart, that there’s nothing I can do to save you. ❜
❛ Now that’s a good way to get killed. ❜
❛ Oh! Joy. Why don’t you join us? I’m just giving some life-saving advice. ❜
❛ Give me a chance to wake up sweetheart. ❜
❛ That is mahogany! ❜
❛ You really wanna know how to stay alive? You get people to like you. Oh! Not what you were expecting. ❜
❛ Some water, a knife or even some matches can mean the difference between life and death. ❜
❛ That was one of the bravest things I’ve ever seen. ❜
❛ I’m sorry that this happened to you. And I’m here to help you in any way I can. ❜
❛ I’m gonna do something that they’re gonna remember. ❜
❛ We are all anybody’s going to be talking about! ❜
❛ Exposure can kill as easily as a knife. ❜
❛ They can be arrogant. And arrogance can be a big problem. ❜
❛ I hear you can shoot. ❜
❛ I have no chance of winning. None! ❜
❛ Those guys are looking at you like you’re a meal. ❜
❛ I think you have a shadow. ❜
❛ Make sure they remember you. ❜
❛ Thank you, for your consideration. ❜
❛ You realize that your actions reflect badly on all of us, not just you. ❜
❛ I hope you noticed, we have a serious situation. ❜
❛ Loosen your corset and have a drink. ❜
❛ I would have given anything to see it. ❜
❛ I thought they hated me. ❜
❛ They must have liked your guts. ❜
❛ Hope. It is the only thing stronger than fear. ❜
❛ A little hope is effective. A lot of hope is dangerous. Spark is fine, as long as it’s contained. ❜
❛ Don’t you know how beautiful you look? ❜
❛ I don’t know how to make people like me. How do you make people like you? ❜
❛ Just be yourself. I’ll be there the whole time, and just pretend you’re talking to me. ❜
❛ I think someone here is a little nervous. ❜
❛ So, tell me. Is there a special girl back home? ❜
❛ Well, that’s bad luck. ❜
❛ What the hell was that?! You don’t talk to me and then you say you have a crush on me? ❜
❛ He made me look weak. ❜
❛ He made you look desirable. Which in your case, can’t hurt sweetheart! ❜
❛ We are not star-crossed lovers. ❜
❛ Manners! ❜
❛ Can’t sleep? ❜
❛ I just don’t want them to change me. ❜
❛ I just don’t wanna be another piece in their game, you know? ❜
❛ I just keep wishing I could think of a way to show them that they don’t own me. ❜
❛ If I’m gonna die, I wanna still be me. ❜
❛ I’m not allowed to bet, but if I could I’d bet on you. ❜
❛ You sure she went this way? ❜
❛ Are you sure we shouldn’t just kill him now? ❜
❛ Let’s just wait her out. ❜
❛ Run! Damn it. Go! ❜
❛ Get out of here! What’re you doing? Go! ❜
❛ Don’t just sit there! Look at me! ❜
❛ It’s okay. I’m not gonna hurt you. ❜
❛ How long was I asleep? ❜
❛ So what happened when I was out? ❜
❛ Is all that true? You and him. ❜
❛ That sounds tempting. ❜
❛ We need a signal, in case one of us gets held up. ❜
❛ We’re gonna be okay. ❜
❛ I wanna see if she’s gonna figure out this booby trap. ❜
❛ It’s okay. You’re okay. You’re alright. ❜
❛ You have to win. ❜
❛ Can you sing? ❜
❛ Don’t kill her. You’d just create a martyr. ❜
❛ I know you know how to handle a mob, you’ve done it before. ❜
❛ If you can’t scare them. Give them something to root for. ❜
❛ Everyone likes an underdog. ❜
❛ There are lots of underdogs. And I think if you could see them, you would root for them either. ❜
❛ I like you, be careful. ❜
❛ It’s bad, huh? ❜
❛ I’m not gonna leave you! I’m not gonna do that. ❜
❛ We’ll figure something out. ❜
❛ You feel hot. ❜
❛ I remember the first time I saw you. ❜
❛ Well, say something. ❜
❛ I’m not good at saying something. ❜
❛ You’re not going alone. ❜
❛ You’re not gonna risk your life for me. I’m not gonna let you. ❜
❛ You would do it for me, wouldn’t you? ❜
❛ Now there’s no way I’m letting you go. ❜
❛ Please. Stay. ❜
❛ It’s too bad that you couldn’t help your little friend. ❜
❛ Well, we killed her. And now, we’re gonna kill you. ❜
❛ You shouldn’t have gone. You said you weren’t gonna go. ❜
❛ We could go home. ❜
❛ We should probably hunt around here. We don’t have any food left. ❜
❛ That’s nightlock! You’d be dead in a minute! ❜
❛ You scared me to death. Damn you. ❜
❛ I never even knew she was following me. ❜
❛ Go on. I’m dead anyway. I always was, right? I didn’t know that until now. ❜
❛ I can still do it. One more kill. It’s the only thing I know how to do. ❜
❛ One of us has to die. They have to have their victor. ❜
❛ Trust me. ❜
❛ They’re not happy with you. ❜
❛ Well, I’m sorry it didn’t go the way they planned. You know I’m not very happy with them either. ❜
❛ This is serious. Not just for you. They don’t take these things lightly. ❜
❛ When they ask, you say you couldn’t help yourself. ❜
❛ So what happens when we get back? ❜
❛ I guess we try to forget. ❜
❛ I don’t wanna forget. ❜

SERENITY (2005) SENTENCE STARTERS
❛ People don’t like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don’t run don’t walk we’re in their homes and in their heads and we haven’t the right. We’re meddlesome. ❜
❛ We’re not telling people what to think. We’re just trying to show them how. ❜
❛ Do you know what your sin is? ❜
❛ You know, in certain older civilized cultures, when men failed as entirely as you have, they would throw themselves on their swords. ❜
❛ Would you be killed in your sleep, like an ailing pet? Whatever your failings, I believe you deserve better than that. ❜
❛ This is a good death. There’s no shame in this. ❜
❛ This landing is gonna get pretty interesting. ❜
❛ There’s a little problem with our entry sequence; we may experience slight turbulence and then explode. ❜
❛ We’re gonna explode? I don’t wanna explode. ❜
❛ What you plan and what takes place ain’t ever exactly been similar. ❜
This isn’t fear. This is anger. ❜
❛ So here is us, on the raggedy edge. Don’t push me and I won’t push you. ❜
❛ If there’s fighting you drop to the floor or run away. It’s okay to leave them to die. ❜
❛ I swear to you I will get very choked up. Honestly. There could be tears. ❜
❛ Let’s be bad guys. ❜
❛ At last, we can retire and give up this life of crime. ❜
❛ Boy, sure would be nice if we had some grenades, don'tchya think? ❜
❛ I’ll kill a man in a fair fight… or if I think he’s gonna start a fair fight, or if he bothers me, or if there’s a woman, or I’m gettin’ paid – mostly only when I’m gettin’ paid. ❜
❛ Goin’ on a year now I ain’t had nothin’ twixt my nethers weren’t run on batteries! ❜
❛ Can I make a suggestion that doesn’t involve violence, or is this the wrong crowd? ❜
❛ Do you all know what it is you’re carrying? ❜
❛ Put a bullet to me. Bullet in the brain pan, squish. ❜
❛ Things are going to get much much worse. ❜
❛ I ain’t looking for help from on high. That’s a long wait for a train don’t come. ❜
❛ Remember: if anything happens to me, or you don’t hear from me within the hour… you take this ship and you come and rescue me. ❜
❛ I never thought for a second you’d be stupid enough to come! ❜
❛ I have to say, I’m impressed that you would come for her yourself. ❜
❛ Yes, I’ve read a poem. Try not to faint. ❜
❛ You do that, you’d best make peace with your dear and fluffy lord. ❜
❛ Nothing here is what it seems. ❜
❛ We have every reason to be afraid. ❜
❛ Do we care? Are we caring about that? ❜
❛ I start fighting a war, I guarantee you’ll see something new. ❜
❛ Do you know what the definition of a hero is? Someone who gets other people killed. ❜
❛ You fog things up. You always have – you spin me about. I wish like hell you was elsewhere. ❜
❛ The government’s man, he says you’re a danger to us. Not worth helping. Is he right?
❛ Are you anything but a weapon? ❜
❛ Half of writing history is hiding the truth. ❜
❛ Coming from you, that means almost nothing. ❜
❛ Can’t order me around, boy. I’m not one of your crew. ❜
❛ If your quarry goes to ground, leave no ground to go to. ❜
❛ You should have taken my offer. ❜
❛ Or did you think none of this was your fault? ❜
❛ Do you even know why they sent you? ❜
❛ I believe in something greater than myself. A better world. A world without sin. ❜
❛ So me and mine gotta lay down and die… so you can live in your better world? ❜
❛ I’m a monster. What I do is evil. I have no illusions about it, but it must be done. ❜
❛ I mean to live. I mean for us to live. ❜
❛ This is how it works. Anybody doesn’t wanna fly with me anymore, this is your port of harbor. ❜
❛ There’s a lot of fine ways to die. I’m not waiting for the Alliance to choose mine. ❜
❛ So I hear a word out of any of you that ain’t helping me out or taking your leave I will shot you down. ❜
❛ So now I’m asking more of you than I have before. Maybe all. ❜
❛ I aim to misbehave. ❜
❛ I am a leaf on the wind, watch how I soar. ❜
❛ Can’t be thinking on revenge if we’re gonna get through this. ❜
❛ You really think any of us are gonna get through this? ❜
❛ I’ve always regretted… not being with you. ❜
❛ With me? You mean to say… as in sex? ❜
❛ To Hell with this. I’m gonna live! ❜
❛ Shot me in the back. I haven’t made you angry, have I? ❜
❛ Are you willing to die for your beliefs? ❜
❛ You’ve always taken care of me. My turn. ❜
❛ I’m a fan of all seven. But, right now… I’m gonna have to go with wrath. ❜
❛ You’re fighting a war you’ve already lost. ❜
