The Lightning were not ready for the playoffs. The Panthers are on top of them every shift. They are giving Kucherov no room to do anything and yet Cooper is still putting him out on the powerplay for the full 2 minutes. Other players need to step up because Kucherov is not effective at all and it's predictable that everyone is going to pass him the puck. He looks like he's given up. They need to stop making so many passes and shoot the puck as soon as they get it on their stick. They're not changing anything and the Panthers are continuing to dominate in every way. The Panthers have a plan and are executing it perfectly and the Lightning look like the worst team in the NHL. They're not elevating their game and are getting outworked in every zone. The only players who have shown up in this series are Vasilevskiy and Cirelli. Jon Cooper can't even keep the worry off his face anymore because he knows that this team has nothing more to give, they have no other gear, they have no fight, they're not playing like they're desperate and hungry to win. It doesn't even seem like the Panthers have to try that hard. Meanwhile, the Lightning are scrambling to keep up. There's a reason the Panthers won the division and the Lightning were a wild card but I expected more of an effort and for something to change once they realized this isn't working.
