𝐈𝐍 𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐒𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓, Harry really should start beating the habit of swatting the snooze button on his alarm clock. He’s been scolded about arriving late to work more times than he could count. However, this time around was different. He’d been partnered up with someone he’s never worked with before, in fact, he didn’t even think he’s spoken to the man previously if not for a curt ‘good morning’ or two in passing. And that’s if Harry’s remembering right. It wouldn’t come as a shock to him if it were in fact revealed that they’ve never said a single word to each other. The new arrangement seemed to be due to a missing persons report that came in at some odd hour of the morning. Why they’d decided to pair Harry up on a detective case is beyond him, but he’d be the first to admit he didn’t exactly mind it. However under-qualified for the task at hand he may feel, he was prepared to do just about anything in order to break the monotony of daily routine. 

Bursting past the front doors, he made a b-line for where he knew the other’s office to be, a wave of relief washing over him when he finds the man in still. “Sorry,” he started upon arrival, sounding more out-of-breath than he would’ve liked, “There was this--traffic and..” He was always a bad liar. Pursing his lips, he decidedly skips the excuse in order to introduce himself, “I’m Harry. We’re meant to be working on the case together?”

As was his weekly tradition, Sam made his way to the bar around the corner from his office. While it was the end of the week, Sam’s family still knew that this was just something he had to do. He was never out too late, but a good stiff drink always helped ease the stress so that he could truly enjoy the weekend with his girls. If he’d recently won a case, he might even have two.

Unbuttoning his shirt at the top and loosening his tie, Sam sat down at the bar and smiled at the bartender. “Whiskey sour,” he said with a smile, sure that they knew his order by now. After all, he was there every Friday. When he got his drink back, he began to nurse it. He was so into his drink, that he didn’t care if he had company or not. It wasn’t like he was intentionally meeting someone here, yet when someone did come up next to him, he welcomed the idea. “Long week too?”

𝐎𝐍���� 𝐖𝐄𝐄𝐊. That’s how long it took for the boy to find himself at the foot of the nearest bar residing in the new town he was staying. Honestly, that’s a bit of a record. Or at least, he thought so--he couldn’t help but feel there’s something he’s forgetting, and what other way to brainstorm than a plan to get absolutely hammered? With a hand tucked into his pants pocket, the teen ambled through the establishment, sparsely populated, save for the man who’s sat along the bar. As he approached, Five doesn’t bother to look the other’s way, answering through an exhale, “Something like that..”  Taking the next available stool, Five folds his forearms across the counter and as he looked between the stranger and an occupied bartender, one could practically see the gears starting to turn inside his head. He spared a sideward glance towards his left and bit the bullet, “You think you can get me one of those?” Flicking his gaze between the other and their alcoholic beverage at hand.

She wasn’t sure what it was about the day, but there seemed to be a lot more patients than normal getting on her last nerve. Truth be told, she was incredibly tired and just ready to get home, order some take out, cuddle with her dog, and watch her favorite tv show. Margie closed her window and gathered her stuff from her office. Maybe she should pick up some coffee on the way home too with how mentally exhausted she was.

Rounding the corner into the hospital lobby, Margie said her goodbyes to the receptionists and began to dig through her purse for her car keys. “Dammit,” she mumbled before leaning against the front desk. “Please tell me that I didn’t leave them in my office,” she muttered, a bit more loudly than she had realized. In fact, she was so lost in her purse and frustration that she didn’t notice the body come up next to her.

𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐓. To say Harry James Potter is impatient was an understatement. Often the bane of his existence, that seems to be the case now as he stepped into the hospital to take cover from unexpected showers. Surely, if he’d cared enough to check weather reports it wouldn’t have caught him so off guard, though if there’s another thing to know about Harry, it’s his general lack of planning. It’s riding this wave of inertia that he’d set off to pick up a case file from the hospital himself, after all. Waiting on an email felt rather time consuming when he knew the hospital was a quick drive away. After hastily swiping the lens of his glasses on the fabric of his sweater, he affixed them back on his face in time for his attention to snag on the nearest person in scrubs, what appeared to be a woman around his age, rummaging through her bag. He approached her decisively, “Er--excuse me. I was wondering if you could help me with something..” Donning civilian clothing, and messy locks that drooped from the weight of rainfall, it’s hard to say he’s a picture of professionalism.

The sun had Oliver in a fantastic mood today. He was finished with his classes for the term and couldn’t wait to spend as much time as possible near the water. For now, though, he was going to settle for ice cream. The blonde made his way to the nearest ice cream parlor. He had a feeling that this was quickly going to become his favorite place in town.

The door made a little jingle as he stepped inside, which only helped to widen the grin already on his face. “So many amazing options,” he beamed as he stared at the ice cream case. The social butterfly bounced to the back of the line and immediately began speaking the person in front of him. “Do you know what you’re gonna get yet?” he asked curiously.

𝐉𝐔𝐒𝐓 𝐁𝐄𝐘𝐎𝐍𝐃 the clear glass window of the shop stood a group of high schoolers, maybe older, seemingly enjoying their ice cream--innocent enough, if Wade wasn’t the right amount of observant to notice the jeers and comments they’d make to unassuming pedestrians and passerbys. Never one to get involved, it shouldn’t make any difference to Wade--right? He was pulled out of his reverie at the sound of a boy’s voice, this time far closer than the ones outside.  “Hm? Oh. I’m thinkin’ Rum Raisin. Definitely a go-to fave. But who can forget, Hotel Califor-Nuts or Ice Make-You-Cream, Monster Berry Bash, Vanilla Ice Ice Baby, Let It Go-gurt, Cherry Potter, Life of Pie--” Forced to remember the need to breathe, there’s a break in his onslaught of flavors, having risen his shoulders nonchalantly. He’d been looking at the menu while he ‘read’ them, though the subsequent upward tug of his lips was a tell-tale sign that a good chunk of those weren’t real. “But ya’ know, up to you.”

Work was work, it wasn’t mean to be 𝐅𝐔𝐍. But Wade’s also pretty sure the average person doesn’t get fired from their job on a bi-weekly basis. “And THEN I said, well if she didn’t feed him to that tiger then I’m the one Jay-Z cheated on Beyoncé with.” All spoken into his headset. Then again, given the fact he’s currently subjecting whatever poor customer is on the other end of the drive through to his mindless rabble, it shouldn’t come as a surprise. “Anywho, that’ll be 4.20 at the next window. ‘Kay, thanks.” Overheard from the speakers is distant shuffling followed by a different, angrier voice, ‘--you can’t keep saying all orders are four dollars and twenty cents just because you-’ before the audio cuts off. At the next window, Wade leans against the frame to greet the girl face-to-face, though one might be able to tell he’s far from an innocent party, given the way he glances over his shoulder to check if his manager’s still present. “So I got a proposition for ya’ that’ll get you free chicken nuggets if you’re down.”

Now, don’t get him wrong, he’s grateful for the lack of crime around the area, but he never would’ve thought how mind-numbingly boring that could be all at the same time. His thread of thought is serrated by the crash and subsequent clattering that came from somewhere behind him. He’d spun around quickly, in time to watch the last couple of books tumble their way out of the shelf and collect by the feet of someone who had presumably been browsing beside them. It’s unclear if she’d been the cause, or if they’ve hurt her, but in any case, he’s over there in a matter of seconds, concern dripping from his tone as he inquires, “Are you alright?”

Growing up in a foster home, he never really saw his adopted father on account the man was always much too busy to give him or his siblings the time of day. But aside from that, there wasn’t much to complain about his upbringing. He once ran away from home, an act of childhood defiance, but all in all, an uneventful experience with little repercussion. Foster kids came and went, so Five never really became close to any of them. With this in mind, it wasn’t a hard decision to accept a scholarship for gifted teens to study at Ivory Cove; he always found himself searching for new ways to keep occupied. Despite his move, he can’t shake off the gnawing feeling that his life is still too painfully boring. Is it wrong to think he was meant for more than this?

There’s nothing boring or ordinary about his normal life. He was raised in a home where he and his siblings who each possessed varying special abilities were trained to be superheroes by a neglectful father, an android, and a talking chimpanzee. FAKE MEMORIES:

(TW; abuse mentioned) Harry grew up with his aunt and uncle where he more often than not suffered as a victim of abuse. (End TW). At his first chance to escape, he accepted a scholarship to a police academy and set off. It wasn’t his first choice, but it was the only thing made available to him, and he’s always felt himself to have a good sense of right and wrong. Besides, it’s not like he was leaving anything behind, he’s not someone who has friends or loved ones around him, often made out to be a loner or outsider. He always felt like he didn’t belong, and desperately seeking a change, it wasn’t a hard decision to move to Ivory Cove when the job offer was made to him, just as easily leaving behind his hometown. Admittedly, he doesn’t feel like a police officer is the right fit for him--following the rules feels like it goes against his very core; however, he’s been in this career path for so long, it would be too late to consider a career as a teacher or something else.. wouldn’t it?

UNKNOWN TO HIM:

Hogwarts, his friends, magic, and everything that fueled the fire in his eyes has been secluded from his memory. Following the events of the books up to the end of the battle of Hogwarts and the defeat of Voldemort, Harry set off to find peace of mind. It was difficult to establish a sense of normalcy in his life, and often struggles with the aftereffects that came with everything he’s been through. With the people he loves supporting him though, he’s been able to make it through it. As per recommendations, he took the path of an Auror. FAKE MEMORIES:

(TW; abuse, cancer, & alcoholism mentioned) Wade grew up in Canada during difficult circumstance, his mother having left the picture when he was quite young, a departure that hadn’t been a willing one after losing her battle against cancer. Growing up in a state of poverty isn’t his only struggle, his father known to be physically and verbally abusive to him, often getting drunk while neglecting to take care of Wade. This leads to him dropping out of high school and joining the military as a means to leave home. (End TW). He took an exchange program offered in Ivory Cove, and has since transferred from the military to marine training, anything to travel and visit a country he always wanted to see. He’s not sure why he was dead set on the United States, but an unforeseen force seemed to drive him here. Maybe it just spawned from his love of comics--all of those seem to be set in the States.

UNKNOWN TO HIM:

Everything up to his successful move is accurate to Wade Wilson. What he doesn’t remember is he’d been kicked out of the military after failing to comply in a mission that involved killing innocent lives, instead having turned on the general in charge. This is where he decided that if he’s going to kill people, he’s going to do it on his own terms, hence the mercenary life path he’d chosen. (TW cancer mention) It’s during this period of his life that he was diagnosed with cancer (TW end). In a last ditch effort to save himself, he joins a secret military program with the promise of curing him and endowing him with superpowers. What they failed to mention were the torturous methods and side effects. All this, including the physical disfigurement that came with it, seems to be nonexistent at his new life in Ivory Cove.. or at least, that’s how it seems, and for now.
