Breakfast might literally be my favourite meal of the day and since I’ve committed to doing Whole 30 this month, finding different ways to cook my favourite foods has been really fun!  It doesn’t get much easier than making a sweet potato hash.  Simply peel your sweet potatoes, shred them up using a greater (making sure to pat them dry to soak up any excess water) then sauté them in a skillet with some coconut oil (or grass-fed butter) along with half an onion.  Boom!  Easy sweet potato hash!

Start your morning off with this thick and creamy Banana Oat Breakfast Smoothie that is healthy, delicious and super quick to make!  It’s also dairy-free and vegan with zero refined sugar! I don’t know about you, but most of us just don’t have the time in the mornings to throw together a healthy breakfast which is why I love to make smoothies!  Fruit smoothies are absolutely delicious, don’t get me wrong, but sometimes you just need to switch things up and enjoy something a little more filling!  This banana oat breakfast smoothie is thick and creamy with such a delicious texture that’s different from your typical smoothie because it’s blended with oats, creamy yogurt and ground flaxseed meal which adds a delicious, nutty flavor to the smoothie as well!

Healthy eating philosophy: Healthful, plant-based food can be delicious, satisfying, and fun to prepare. While I'm a passionate vegan, I support and celebrate everyone's food choices, so long as they're thoughtful and sincere. As a nutritionist, my ultimate goal is to help folks love, celebrate, and make peace with the food on their plates. Start simple! Some of the best food any home cook can enjoy is the simplest.

Fruits and vegetables contain key vitamins and minerals:- Folate, magnesium, potassium, and vitamins A, C and K are just a few of the all-stars you'll find in fresh produce. All of these nutrients play different roles in health and fruits and veggies are some of the best ways to get them.
Fruits and vegetables are rich in fiber :- Fiber has many important effects in the body. It keeps your digestive system healthy, can help keep you full (especially important if you are cutting calories for weight loss), and prevents numerous health conditions while also promoting a healthy heart.

Why Fruits & Vegetables Are So Good for You?
The 2010 U.S. dietary guidelines recommend that all Americans eat more fruits and vegetables as part of a healthy diet. Government guidelines aside, you surely grew up with your mom telling you to eat your vegetables. Or maybe you even hear it now from your doctor.

Fruit and vegetables should be an important part of your daily diet. They are naturally good and contain vitamins and minerals that can help to keep you healthy. They can also help protect against some diseases. Most people will benefit from eating more fruit and vegetables as part of a well-balanced, regular diet and a healthy, active lifestyle. There are many varieties of fruit and vegetables available and many ways to prepare, cook and serve them. You should eat at least five serves of vegetables and two serves of fruit each day. Choose different colours and varieties. A serve of vegetables is about one cup of raw salad vegetables or 1/2 cup of cooked. A serve of fruit is about one medium piece, 2 small pieces of 1 cup canned (no added sugar).

Leading a healthy lifestyle can mean different things to different people. For some of us, it's about eating clean, while for others, about it's getting in a workout every day or cultivating a positive attitude to face our busy lives. That said, no matter what your priorities are when it comes to living a health-conscious life, it always helps to have a little inspiration.

Active lifestyle will always keep you healthy. You can include thirty minutes of brisk walk in your routine to keep your health up and avoid weight gain due to sedentary lifestyle. Taking stairs instead of the lift or walking down to nearby places will keep you running and your fat burning.

You also need to know that there are many different types of protein powders. So instead of picking one at random, Kelly has provided us with some tips and pointers on everything you need to know about your new best friends.

Protein powders are processed foods, made from lots of different ingredients. In their simplest form, they come from milk (whey is a by-product) or egg whites. But vegan and plant-based options also exist, derived from soy, hemp, peas, and more. Protein powders can also contain added sugars, artificial sweeteners and flavours, probiotics, vitamins, and minerals—even additives like caffeine or creatine. So some powders are more processed than others, and some are better for you than others.

Nutrient-rich (or nutrient-dense) foods contain a lot of vitamins and minerals and a few calories. They also are low in sugar, sodium, starches, and bad fats. Your body needs vitamins and minerals, known as micronutrients. They nourish your body and help keep you healthy. They can reduce your risk for chronic diseases. Getting them through food ensures that your body can absorb them properly.

Fruits and vegetables naturally are low in fat. They add nutrients, flavor, and variety to your diet. Look for colorful fruits and vegetables, especially orange and dark green. If you can, choose organic produce. It is free of pesticides and can contain more vitamins and minerals.
