As a french person, it's kinda funny to me when fanfic writers make Alastor speak french, and it's always things like "Bonjour mon cher, je t'aime" you know, typical french words from the main France french most people learn here and there.

The thing is, Alastor knows french creole from Louisiana, which isn't the usual France french most people know. Alastor would speak like "Bonjou konmen to yê?" Or "Mo laimm twa" instead ahah.

Also, there's different versions of french creole, the one from Louisiana is not exactly the same from Antillean Creole or French Guianese Creole. If you want here's an example to what Louisiana Creole sounds like!

So yeah if you want to spice up your fics and be more accurate with your Alastor speaking french creole, dont be afraid to look out for Louisiana Creole expressions instead of the typical french you'd normally use! Makes it more fun and more accurate 💃

reading the latest chapter of a fic I'm following

love love love how alastor's aroaceness is written here

go check it out and give it love if you're interested!! it covers a large ensemble though so there's no specific main character/pairing focus, rather they get focus over the span of several chapters (fic also contains one-sided radiostatic. because of course a fic I'm following has that)

Summary:

Charlie has the "great idea" to throw a Valentine's Ball as a grand reopening for the new Hazbin Hotel. And what better theme than a holiday dedicated to love itself? Only, none of the inhabitants of the hotel have ever had a real Valentine's Day. Which makes Charlie more determined than ever to give the people she loves a night to never forget. And while the other residents of the hotel are trying to get their dates/make the most of the evening, the Vees are poised and ready to make their entrances as the new top dogs in town.
