that's fair, the tone is kinda dismissive upon re reading it. i'll admit that i also don't do much reading on trans discourse because, yk, it sucks, so i don't have the most wholistic view of the matter. in my head, trans discourse is usually "transfems are literally constantly in danger and being pushed out and nobody cares," which, fair, and then "transmascs WISH they were us!" which i don't think is worth discussing too much.

op's post might be dismissive, however, i don't think there's no validity to dismissing some of the common arguments that go around. a lot of the time, the actually useful discussions are so mired in toxicity, anger, and misinterpretation, that the usual response is to say "you seem like a very miserable person whom i do not wish to be around." (read: "women should just shut the fuck up and have sex with men already")

combined with the fact most discourse discusses "we are being killed" and "girls rool boys drool" with the same amount of seriousness, at least to an outside observer, leads to a very "this looks like a serious waste of time and energy" mindset from people not deeply invested in it.

oh yea i get it!! honestly i love learning about this stuff literally any time it's not presented as "my problems are the WORST and everyone else SUCKS"

everyone is suffering immensely under capitalism, patriarchy, etc, and understanding each other openly is literally the only way anything is going to get better.

if anyone wanted more proof that this whole "trans men are evil" thing is very limited to chronically online spaces. im big in the lesbian sphere on Tumblr and we literally praise transmasc lesbians and lesboys. i haven't seen a single post talking about disliking them

straight up. my brother irl is transmasc and it really puts into perspective how utterly separated some people are from transmascs who are not also in their own little echo chambers of anger. like! people hate us both. trans women might be in more physical danger when we don't pass etc etc but that's not their fault?

girl. they are trying to kill all trans people right now. everyone and their grandmother knows that 90% of the time, internet discourse, ESPECIALLY ON TUMBLR, is just a giant game of telephone where everyone hates each other.

how is "we should put aside our petty differences and face our enemies together" a bad take? I'm not denying transmisogyny is real, both me and op are trans women. i feel like op shouldn't immediately have the worst ideas projected on her just because she is tired of people fighting over stupid stuff.

what discourse are you referring to when you think "this person says trans women should shut up about X"? if it's transfem exclusion from lgbt+ spaces, i kinda get it, but ill tell you that transmascs are 90% of the time not the actual enemy there. its terfs.

"trans people should stop infighting" does not mean "trans women should shut up and submit to men," it's way more reasonable to read it as literally anything else.
