This blog is for the Ghost of Christmas books by the author and feautures art, inspiration, quotes and excerpts from the projects. If art is mine, it will be explicitly stated. The books are high gothic fantasy and, are created for non-profit purposes, namely, I hope to use them to fund relief efforts in Sudan, Congo, and more. The books feature strong anticolonial, anti-capitalist and anti imperial sentiments.

excerpt from the original post: this is dictamnus albus—commonly called gas plant. on hot days, it emits a citrusy, flammable oil that briefly ignites when exposed to flame. it’s completely harmless to the plant, but incredible to witness.

both wealth and productivity have been turned into virtues that must be achieved before a person is granted the eternal salvation of being treated as a human being. poverty likewise is a vice and not a sign of systemic dysfunction. youth and age are both commodified. time is no longer about the life you experience, but the things you do for the industrial/techno-feudalist project. for women especially, time is measured in reproductive productivity. the reason we have to be x by x time is because we are essentially cash cows to a selective few human beings. life is no longer measured by quality and sensuality but output, output endless output. maturity is no longer marked by the seasons of the body but the capital you have acquired by a certain time, whether or not you have engaged in sexual reproduction, and whether or not you are earning money for the state. consumption of food or what have you is no longer intuitive, but organized for maximum productivity. perhaps our existential horror at the inevitability of death would not be so exacerbated if we were not forced to be so crushingly and unnaturally aware of that fucking ticking clock on the wall.

The Prey
I got in my head the idea of doing a tapestry-inspired painting based on this quest, so here it is! Among the flowers on the ground there are dandelions, st. john’s wort, and valerian, as they’re the ones you can find in the Talmberg Woods.
Looking forward to painting Henry in an armour at some point, because after trotting so long beside Hans like a dog here, he very much deserves to look like a knight next.
