With everything that’s going on these days: grieving the world that just ended and embracing the fact that we don’t actually know the world we are going to live in starting, hopefully, a few months from now - I found myself sobbing today. After my morning routine (piano practice + yoga) I looked at the world from the balcony in my grandma’s apartment in TLV, and the whole situation just landed on me. It felt weird and kinda great to be able to process this shit. Maybe some of you cry on a daily basis - good for you, btw - but for people like me who were raised to believe that crying is pure weakness and processing emotions is a privilege of the other sex only - that really doesn’t come easy. So here’s a little thought: tears show up when we are flooded with emotions. They basically wash it out so we can be centered again, so we can be relieved, so we can move on and keep growing. Why would anyone choose not to take advantage of that incredible feature of the human body? This epidemic will fuck us up in so many ways, but if somehow it will teach us to process thoughts and feelings differently, I’ll be forever grateful. Took this picture a couple of weeks ago in NYC, a minute walk from my apartment in Harlem. Everything is so different now, and for some reason, not really sure why, I don’t miss NY at all. It’s so weird. This virus shakes everything in my life and makes me wonder if I actually live the life I want to live. It creates a new chapter that might change the way I think, make music, listen. It’s scary how fragile everything is. But maybe it’s good to be forced to pause and rethink everything every now and then. I've decided to go spend some time with my family in Tel Aviv now that the world is basically shutting down.. BUT (!) by the time I got here the rules changed and the government is now asking everyone who arrives from ANY country to stay in a 14 day self quarantine.
