GODZILLA: CHAOS THEORY

(an independent Godzilla AU writing project by The Dapper Critter and Iamthekaijuking)

“Any sufficiently evolved biology is indistinguishable from divinity” – Ryoichi Mafune (1968 - 2011), Macrozoologist, Theoretical Naturalist, Occultist

 It is the 2nd decade of the 21st century. The kaiju crisis is getting out of human control.

 Tomoko Yamane, a morose behaviourist with confidential psychic powers and a troubled upbringing. Akira Nakajima, her partner, a macrobiologist with a shaky sense of optimism working for a better future. Yumiko Satsuma, their military liaison, a headstrong woman who rose from the ashes of tragedy to become the most adept combat pilot alive.

 These three are tasked by KAMI—a specialized environmental agency—to track, study, and if necessary, neutralize the monstrous lifeforms that have appeared across the world at an increasingly alarming rate, affecting our planet’s environment and our society in unbelievable ways. Their first target is the infamous apex predator whose species marked the beginning of the kaiju crisis in 1954. The one who changed their lives forever in one, fateful day over 20 years ago: Godzilla.

 Utilizing an unusual mix of science, technology, the supernatural, and some unusual outside help, the trio strives to unlock the many mysteries of the monsters they encounter. Though they have some differences to work through, the farther they come in their endeavours and the greater the hardships become, the closer they become as people. But the more startling their discoveries become, the more they realize the ruthless Godzilla may not be what he seems…

 …nor the true threat to their world.
