Tone Montana vs. Super Writer
Tone Montana has a very unique sound without seeming particularly unorthodox. A very complete battle emcee in that he has bars, schemes, performance, aggression, all that. He even gotta beard like Smack’s. There are a couple spots during his round where his flow is really multi heavy which is something emcees want to stay away from. His scheme about the body being a temple was executed very well, I just wasn’t really feeling it. He drops a really nice line about Mufasa that Aye Verb ends up using in his battle with T-Rex. Today I found out that another one of Ayeverb’s more memorable punch lines was said by Lotta Zay first but that’s neither here nor there. This was a very good round; the only part I’m actually disappointed with is how Tone didn’t try to freestyle something about Super Writer showing up to battle in a shmedium Captain America t-shirt.
It seems like Super Writer prepared for Tone whereas Tone just hit SW with some generic stuff. He was very animated which comes across as a little ~too much~ when battling in such a small room as opposed to a stage. He had an Obamacare punch line that wasn’t that good but I don’t even care, I’m happy with any political reference at this point. SW also did the “I don’t touch guns, I’m just beating you with your own style” thing which is very played out. He has a lot of good lines but towards the 13 min mark I think the crowds feeling him a little too much. Can I also just take a second to talk about Super Writer's name? Not sure how I feel about it. It's too generic but at the same time so generic that I doubt there's anyone else that goes by it.
Going off of crowd reaction, you would have to say Super Writer won this one. Personally, I can’t really call it.

John John Da Don vs B-Magic
This is a really good URL PG battle that doesn't get enough credit. A lot of people don't like one rounders but I'd much rather 1 round with no filler than 3 rounds of iffy material. Why waste everybodys time with irrelevant bars that aren't even good?
John John da Don is at his best in this one. His multiple choice scheme is hella played out by now but this is where it started. Looking back, I can definitely see a little of John John (da Don) in Johnie Alcatraz' style when he battled Ill Will.
B-Magic is one of the most consistently dope battlers out there and in this one he doesn't disappoint. His flow gets a little dry about one third into his verse but eventually he picks it up and even John John (da Don) reacts to some of his bars.
I honestly can't call a winner on this one. I give both emcees a 9/10. Though B-Magic had the most momentum in some parts, he had a handful of bars that didn't hit whereas John John (da Don) had maybe one or two weak punches. I really wish more battles were short and to the point like this. I mean, after we've suffered through Iron Solomon vs. Murda Mook, doesn't it make sense to go in the opposite direction?
(PS: If you actually open the link for the Solomon-Mook battle, do me a favor and give it a thumbs down. Thanks.)
