you don't wanna know me now
He feels like he’s existing outside of his body, like he’s somehow been plucked off the streets of Los Angeles and thrown back to the hot sand and rolling foothills of the Iraqi desert. He can almost feel the heat of the sun beating down on his body as his mind is playing a horrific slideshow, so real it feels like he’s reliving every mistake he’s made, every transgression he’s committed, and every secret he thought he’d buried.

Thank god they brought back An Amount Of Daylight That Makes You Want To Live. It was getting a bit scary for a minute there.

New idea: instead of writing the fic, you come over to my house and I tell you the entire plot while I pace my tiny kitchen. There’s a cup of tea, warm in your hands. The words don’t stop and the affection never leaves your expression.

The only threat in the room was one he had no clue how to manage. The frantic, stuttering beep of the monitor told Tim that Lucy’s pulse was racing, and the plummeting green numbers told him that her oxygen saturation was dropping like a rock, but he didn’t know how to fix it. This wasn’t something he could punch or shoot or shout at and he had no idea what to do. Lucy’s eyes raced behind her lids and she threw her head back, protesting the lack of oxygen. He had to do something, anything to fix the horrible strangled, panicked sounds coming out of her throat.

"Would you let me finish?" He seethed, tired of being cut off. "It wasn't that I didn't want it, it was that it scared the shit out of me! Everything I felt for you, Lucy, I felt in complete extremes! I still do that. It's never halfway with you."  "And that scares you?" Lucy asked in disbelief, eyebrows raised "I scare you?" "You don't scare me, Lucy. My ability to completely lose myself in you scares me. The fact that I love you scares me." He took a brief pause to catch his breath. She hadn't missed the way he had switched to present tense. "Listen, I didn't want to hurt you, and if we kept going the way we were, I knew that I probably would." "But you did though, you know that right?" She asked, her voice low now, anger replaced with pain. "You still hurt me."  "I know," he mumbled, with a nod of his head. He raked his hand through his hair, and looked back up at her. Lucy noticed that his eyes were wet. "It's what I do. Hell, I am doing it right now by being here."

One thing I really need to see is this show giving Lucy back her agency. Tim obviously took that away from her in the days leading up to the breakup and then, of course, in the way he ended things as well.
But we also had Primm pulling the strings on her career.
And going back even further we had Tim influence her decision that a relationship would be worth the risk. Tim also decided she was going to date Chris and then ultimately influenced her decision to break up with him (she even used his words instead of her own 🤦🏽‍♀️, but even as a joke that was problematic).
Others have also pointed out how things ended with Nolan and Emmett.
One thing I have actually loved about this season is Lucy vocally standing up for herself, and I need to see it continue. I’d love to see her have the opportunity to take the reigns on her career and her personal life (including whether she decides to forgive Tim, reunite with him, or even see someone else). It needs to be her making those decisions for herself.

It's the fact that Lucy was the one fighting for their relationship no matter what, despite never being able to commit to any of her ex-boyfriends, while Tim was the one who walked away from her, when he used to stay in relationships despite them not working, that makes this so incredibly painful for me. Lucy was all-in. She took the risk of losing the most important relationship in her life. She gambled her career for him. When she found out he had problems with her doing undercover work, she simply told him they were going to get through it. Even after being kept in the dark and spending days without knowing if he was alive, her first instinct in the parking lot was still trying to help him and comfort him.
There's only so many times you can watch your partner walk away before there's no coming back. Before it completely shatters your trust in them. Because that's the issue here : it's not the first time he does that to her. Don't get me wrong, he definitely had his reasons each time and they were noble. Misguided, but noble. And he is without a doubt not in the right mindset at the present. He's punishing himself, feeling worthless of her love. But the pain inflicted to her is the same. It's no wonder that Lucy is crushed and believes it was easy for him to give up. We know it wasn't like that at all. But why would she think any different at this point? It's easy to say that your relationship is worth the risk but if you keep walking away when it gets tough, then those words become meaningless. And I really hope that this is going to be addressed during Tim's journey so that he can break that pattern. Lucy deserves that much. And so does he.
