It makes me dispare for humanity when people forget the simplest things. They claim to like this or that character, yet, time and again forget the simplest things about him.

This is the heart of Loki. He just wants to be as good as Thor. He's not power hungry, he's recognition starved. He wants to feel a part of the family he's been told all his life he belongs to. He wants them to not pass him over, or ridicule him, or forget he's there. He wants to be as real to his father and brother as he once thought he was to Frigga. I know all to well that feeling.

He also has a right to be proud.

He's a great fighter,

Loki was never actually caught killing any of those 80 people. He may have comanded it, but he didn't do it himself. The sort of thing a expirienced leader does is trust his subordinates skills. Also picking Barton after just a few moments. Takes a keen eye to know who can help him. An eye he retained even after months of torture at Thanos hands. He didn't even kill the guy whos eye he needed. The eye is still moving to open the vault. He never intended to win. He refrained from using the spear's power to command the brainless army. The Army was a distraction. It baught the good guys time to figure out the mashine. A mashine he allowed a failsafe to be built into.

and a unequalled Sorcerer.

One doesn't call Dr. Strange a hack for kicks. Frigga was his mentor, and she recognised Thor was from the future but didn't panic in the least when she saw him. Raised by witches, she said it herself. But more to the point he knew by heart the incantation to bring Sutur back from the dead and sommon him to Asgard, a magical feat he, by all accounts, would NEVER HAVE WANTED TO USE EVER. Probably passed down to him by Frigga herself. By heart, he knew this.

As for the Actual gods...Loki is Odin's brother. They are ... Inseparable Æsir Arses, and of them both Loki is the more reasonable one. He will tell you he is not a Trickster, and less a God of Mischief than a God of Change. He is Perpetual Motion like nature, like fire and he will kick your ass if you ignore your purpose.

Loki Odinson and Loki Laufeyjarson are incomparable. One is the Partner in crime of the Odin MCU Odin was more like in his days with Hela.

One is the half-Æsir half-Joten boy MCU Odin rescued after realizing what a fucked up asshole he'd become as the Father of Hela and All-Conqueror, (yet had not necessarily yet given thought that the problem might lie with him more than her, Thus Loki's strict upbringing, for he saw himself in them both.)

They are as different as two Tricksters coukd ever be, as if different entities entirely...

...maybe one day we will find out Loki Odinson is as a part of this world as he is a part of the MCU. Odin does have a thing for collecting sons, after all.

I think the biggest difference is that the Marvel movies portray Loki a lot more prideful than he actually is. Like, yeah he'll cause chaos and mischief but it's not a power hunger thing.

Yeah that’s why I liked the Ragnarok portrayal the best bc even I knew with my very limited knowledge of Norse mythology that Loki wasn’t power hunger.

I think I was just curious if there was ANY kind of accuracy specifically in Ragnarok since some of the portrayal actually reminded me of Hermes. Would be kind of funny if Marvel Loki is closer to being like Hermes than actual Loki 🤣🤣🤣🤣

The fandom: That means he didn’t mean to kill anyone, and while his actions can’t exactly be excused, this fact provides a lot of context. It’s not fair to punish someone for something they couldn’t stop.
