I do not really want to define myself all the time by gender and presentation frameworks that someone else has created. I mean, that's why I'm agender, right? I don't want to make definitive statements on whether I Am or Am Not (for example) transmasculine, transneutral, male-aligned, female-aligned, unaligned, etc. It's broader than just "I'm not any of those things"; I am not opting myself out of them as categories, I am declining to allow my experiences to be defined by the assumption that I'm one of them to the exclusion of the others. Sometimes I fit into one or the other of them during some discussions, and other times I do not. I have defined labels, but I picked them myself to express something specific, and I don't expect any particular shared experiences with the whole group of other people who share those labels. I don't necessarily expect people to understand me better if I give those labels, even. All I really want any given interlocutor to know about me are that I really don't want people to use gendered language for me if they can avoid it (including pronouns) and that I'm queer.
