when we want to copy a skin bom we realize that we have to download it but at the time of paying and uploading it another very stealthy copybot master might realize that the skin is copied
when we create an omega applicator with our skin bom copybot people will notice when they try to copy us that this skin is not the original In second life there are people who are very fanatical about skins who could know their names just by looking
when you create an omega applicator and apply it it works but you risk being discovered
in this photo I can see the name of the creator of the skin or the name of the copybot
now when our skin is bom we automatically make an anonymous skin since they will not be able to know if it is copybot or not since when a texture is bom the name of the creator does not appear

the bom has many benefits while the applicator is limited

What Happens After you Get Banned?
You try to log into SL your viewer start connecting with the region…. but wait, psych!
So you think ok let’s login and talk to SecondLife:
You think nothing of it and click the submit a support case link, only to see this screen:
I request that Linden Lab cancel my account? Wait what? Yes my friend you’ve just been owned by Linden Lab. So you may be in denial and try to ask their customer support why? Until you realize that Linden Lab customer service can take days if not weeks to respond. So in your impatience you check your emails and find nothing, that’s weird…. Out of desperation you click the Spam folder and there you find it, the infamous email with the title Second Life: Account Closure
You quickly open the email in the hopes it’s just a misunderstanding, but the words are pretty damning and absolute Linden Lab has decided to close your account. Horrified you read the lines
Quote:Hello CBC Resident,
It has come to our attention that you have engaged in activities in violation of the Linden Lab Terms of Service (the “Terms”) and Second Life Community Standards, including but not limited to:
· Section 6.1 of the Terms, which states that “[y]ou will not post or transmit prohibited Content, including any Content that is illegal, harassing or violates any person’s rights”;
· Section 6.1(iv) of the Terms, which states that you agree you will not “[p]ost, display, or transmit Content (including any communication(s) with employees of Linden Lab) that is harmful, threatening or harassing, defamatory, libelous, false, inaccurate, misleading, or invades another person’s privacy”; and
· Section 4 (Disclosure) of the Community Standards, which states that “[r]esidents are entitled to a reasonable level of privacy with regard to their Second Life experience. Sharing personal information about your fellow Residents without their consent — including gender, religion, age, marital status, race, sexual preference, alternate account names, and real-world location beyond what is provided by them in their Resident profile — is not allowed. Remotely monitoring conversations in Second Life, posting conversation logs, or sharing conversation logs without the participants’ consent are all prohibited.”
Pursuant to Section 5.2 of the Terms, “Linden Lab may suspend or terminate your Account if you violate this Agreement, along with any or all other Accounts held by you or otherwise related to you. . . . Upon termination of your Accounts, this Agreement between us will be automatically terminated and you may not re-subscribe or return to the Service through other or future Accounts you or others may set up.”
Due to your severe and repeated violations of the Terms and Community Standards, Linden Lab has terminated your access to the Second Life virtual world. This termination applies to all Second Life accounts associated with you, including your primary, alternate, and household accounts. To reiterate, you may not return to Second Life on any account, new or existing.

A few days pass and you come to terms with what had just had happened. The lindens finally respond a week later with the same copy-paste response as you already read in the email. You try to appeal their decision but you soon realize you are probably just talking to a wall as all replies come back the same. If you are lucky some of the replies may ask you sensitive information while not allowing you to change your password during these requests. In other words your reputation could be tarnished by slander if someone hacks you while banned.
You accept defeat and request your USD balance to be paid out, but those bastards were two steps ahead of you and knew all your balance would be in Linden (LD) not USD. Not only have you been banned but also robbed and they got the law on their side.
Moral of the story don’t get banned and robbed.

MAC Address for Dummies
This article is meant to be a give more insight in what a MAC Address is and what it means on different Operating Systems, because a MAC Address is not always a MAC Address.
But what exactly is the MAC Address? A MAC Address is a “unique” identifier assigned to a Network Interface. But in reality a MAC Address is far from unique. The first 6 of 12 hex characters are registered with the IEEE Registration Authority and can be used to identify MAC vendors

but it’s not hard to imagine that this quickly limits the amount of MAC address any organisation can create, even if they use unregistered MAC addresses, so in the real world there exist many duplicate MAC addresses.
What is my MAC address in Windows? Since Windows 7, Microsoft introduced MAC Address spoofing as a security feature for WiFi users. Which has made it difficult for Linden Lab to identify users. Since most SecondLife users use WiFi to connect to the internet, Linden Lab has chosen to use your BIOS serial number instead of your MAC address as identifier.

What is my MAC Address on Linux? On linux SecondLife viewers use the actual MAC address even though most linux distributions come with a built-in Mac Address Spoofer. The following command will show the MAC addresses of your computer. Your computer can have more than one network interface, for example, network cable and wifi.

What is my MAC address in macOS? On macOS the viewers use the actual MAC address, but also have the ability to spoof the MAC address, here is the command to see the MAC addresses.

When is my MAC address transmitted? The MAC Address is send as a md5 hash upon login and every 300 seconds (5 min) via viewerstats in plain-text.
What other identifiers are send to SL via viewerstats? OS, CPU, RAM and several GPU specs. What does SL do with this information? We assume it’s data collection for technical support, but if that’s the case why is there no option to opt out? Like any other legitimate software.

Volume Serial for Dummies
This article is meant to be a give more insight in what a Volume Serial is and what it means on different Operating Systems, because a Volume Serial is not always a Volume Serial.
But what exactly is the volume serial? A volume Serial is a serial number created upon the moment a disk partition was formatted using the current date and time. A disk can have multiple partitions and therefor have multiple Volume Serials. The SecondLife viewers will pick one of them and use it as a identifier for your computer and your alts.
What is my volume serial in Windows? On Windows the Volume Serial of the Operating System is picked which is usually Drive C:

What is my volume serial in Linux? Linux does not use drive letters to identify the operating system. The algorithm used to identify which volume serial will be used as identifier is therefor different. The Linux algorithm selects the longest volume UUID’s in the /dev/disk/by-uuid directory, followed by the alphabetically highest volume UUID. This approach seems to suggest that a USB stick with a alphabetically higher UUID can potentially act as a volume serial spoofer on legitimate viewers (which is interesting)
To view which volume serial is used paste this in the terminal (Only tested on Ubuntu 20.04):
