so I wanted to explain the picture a bit!

In work A H0LIC, our main characters are magical girls who have been tasked with closing strange rifts (abnormalities) that lead to a different world. Whenever the characters destroy the “boss” in the world they get sent back home and the world they were in gets condensed down into a convenient piece of licorice to be eaten by [REDACTED].

'Oh right. I should pick some up after work.'

Mari had been craving lamb for a few days now. Her eyes had lingered on an ad for a moment too long and now it had been following her persistently. Intentionally making the craving stronger.

Mari swipes the ad away and closes out of blink.

'Social media break over, back to work.'

Today Mari managed to get off work at a "decent" time. It was already dark but the city was still awake. People were out and about, for fun and for business. And most stores were still open so she was able to walk home on her own.

Mari adjusts her purse on her shoulder, focusing on the sound of her heels clicking on the pavement as she passes various sounds of people talking and random holo-billboards. 

She wanted to head straight home but she really wanted lamb and Ami, her roommate, offered to make it tomorrow night if she picked it up today. 

Mari could feel herself start to drool at the thought of the future meal, however her eyes are caught by something displayed in the store window she was passing. 

A dress. A really nice dress that Mari had seen before however it was way too expensive. Now though it seemed to be on sale.

The words flash on the window. The store wasn't even open right now.

Mari shakes her head ready to move on but suddenly the window fully lights up reflecting her person back at her but instead of the current clothes she's wearing the dress on display.

Her image strikes a cute poses in the outfit in front of her.

A few random passersby hum in approval at the ad.

Well yea Mari did look great in it...maybe she’d stop by later this week?

Mari sighs and continues walking to her original destination. After a certain distance the window ad fades away.

The next day Mari gets an email reminding her of the sale at the store and the ads that had mainly been food related start to shift to clothing and fashion. 

A new reminder of what she should get next.

Sarah is the IT at CINIS. Technology comes easy to her. Because of this she has an extra interest in older technology and even sticks to a modified flip phone instead of the common touch screen. 

Serious about her work and her passions she focuses most of her energy there and gives off an appearance of someone who has it completely together. However, Sarah has always had trouble connecting with people and as a result has become quite closed off as an adult. Even among her new teammates and friends she struggles to properly integrate.

Outside of work she usually keeps to herself and doesn't really have any close friends beside her pet cat and main confidant Tuna.

The main character of work A H0LIC. A reliable worker but deep down yearns for the free time of her youth. Mari is a person who can pick up new activities fairly quickly. However, if she can do it, someone else can do it much better. Therefore she works hard to keep up in her professional endeavors. 

Mari follows the typical path of school then full time work, but sometimes she feels her direction in life isn’t as clear as she thinks. In college, she thought she wanted to major in communications. And by the time she graduated, was pretty sure she wanted to work as an editor for CINIS. And now, she definitely wants to climb the corporate ladder...right?
