Abortion is healthcare, regardless of your feelings around it you can’t deny it’s a life saving procedure for millions and should be entirely up to the individual who’s pregnant. And now that we’ve established that we can establish the fact that healthcare is a fundamental right, and a fundamental right is supposed to be something no government entity can interfere with. (Like freedom of speech and religion, or trial by jury)

Not only does this interfere with a persons right to choose, it infringes on one’s privacy.

And people always respond “well most states have exceptions for certain circumstances” yea and women are still dying because doctors are too afraid to give them the life saving procedure they need because they’re afraid of prison time or losing their licenses on the off chance the state deems it medically unnecessary.

Two Texas women were unable to get treatment for their miscarriages leading to both of their unfortunate passings. Both of whom’s stories I’ll link here and here. Thousands of women also report being told there’s nothing the doctors can do until infection kicks in, or until the fetal heartbeat is completely gone. They are forced to wait until the very last moment leading to the deaths of thousands of women. Thousands which will likely soon turn to millions because the strict bans stop medical professionals from doing their jobs and saving lives.

Not to mention the literal children who will be forced to carry their rapists baby in states such as Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee, South Dakota and Texas. All of which deny exceptions in cases of incest and/or rape.

Not to mention how these bans unfairly affect black women and other women of color in comparison to their white counterparts, along with low income women and families. We continue to have the highest maternal mortality rates in the western world, and the numbers are only continuing to grow.

Women are dying and they don’t care. Children are dying and they don’t care.
