TO OUR MEMBERS,

We are truly saddened to bring you the unfortunate news that due to sudden personal issues for both admins, and hectic life schedules at this very moment, we will be CLOSING Gotham KRP once again. However, this time, it will be an indefinite hiatus. We will not be opening again. This is honestly all I can really say without getting into the nitty gritty of personal information, so with that, Gotham will be closing for good. We thank you all for your time and effort, and it was quite upsetting to see so many people vanish from our numbers in the end. We hope that you all enjoyed your time here, and that you all made some friends worth keeping. Thank you for supporting us, and we wish you all the best !

You can treat these are starter prompts as well.It makes more sense if the person writing the prompt is saying the quote, simply because you are writing for your own character and no one else’s, catch my drift ? That’s why in the instructions it stated the person receiving the prompt will then say the quote, and it also helps with you picking up plots from these prompts. Adds body and more details rather than one liners, which is also stated in the meme rules !

occupation

Simba runs a street gang under the Penguin’s authority. He and his boys normally do a lot of the dirty work and heavy lifting that the higher ranks need done. Riots, Robberies, muggings; you give Simba an order and he spreads it around his gang. Simba himself even gets involved in doing all the work although it’s not completely required of him. He finds a kind of fun in getting his hands dirty.

He also works as a bouncer at the Iceburg Lounge if asked or if he’s simply bored and needs something to do. Also it’s the only way he’s allowed to stay at the Lounge overnight if he needs a place to crash. Plus earning some extra money never hurt anyone.

living space

Simba doesn’t have a permanent place of residents, even though he probably has enough saved up for a rather fancy place. He’s a drifter, sleeping and bathing wherever he finds a place. Sometimes he crashes in a gang member’s home or in the Iceburg lounge - in which he normally decides to play bouncer for the night if he does chose to stay there.  

personality

Simba is rather playful and has a rather happy outlook on life considering his line of work. He thinks he’s got the best job in the world and takes advantage of every second of it. He’s a the glass is half full not empty sort of guy. Some say he’s crazy, that he has a little to much fun leading his little gang into battle. Even some of his own gang members think he’s a crazy guy but follow his orders anyways. 

He only rarely gets upset, and that’s normally when a higher up yells at him for doing something wrong, Or one of his members messed up a job. If a member messes up well— they’re not normally heard from again.

Young Jin hadn’t really had a normal life from the start. His father was a corrupt officer and his mother was almost completely absent from the household. More often than not he was left by himself in the house, the family not even having having enough money, or possibly not even caring enough, to hire a babysitter. It wasn’t until this father, desperate for money, completely aligned himself with the penguin and started making extra money. 

At the time, Young Jin was clueless to his father’s criminal acts. He was fed a story his father had gotten a promotion and a bigger salary. That story worked until Young Jin reached his teenage years. His father ended up bringing some work home with him, gang members from a rival gang breaking into their home and attacking the three of them (his mother happened to come home on that faithful night). After watching the men beat his father infront of him, and having watched them kill his mother almost moments earlier, the teenager snapped.

He beat and possibly killed the men who had entered his home uninvited - using anything and everything as a weapon around him. ’ A crazy animal ’ one of the gang members said before they were Young Jin’s next target.  Him and his father managed to live through the event and left the house before the police could enter the home — with his father’s known connection to the Penguin gang it was better not to stick around. They ran to a safe house for the gang, got his father patched up and Young Jin was given praise - practically the first time in his life considering his parents were barely ever home to tell him anything.

He was taken into the ranks after that night, and he was happy to join. Granted his father wasn’t happy to have dragged his family into it, but at the same time he would only live for another year before falling victim to the same crime and not making it out alive. Young Jin would learn from his father’s mistakes and gradually make his way up in the ranks. Somewhere along the way he got the nickname of ‘Simba’, and he’s be calling himself that ever since.

Just a quick note to let our members know that due to hectic life schedules, that both admins will be going on a short semi-hiatus until the first week of February. We apologize that we haven't been able to make it on as much over the past few days, and this involves the event. Due to us having no time to finish it off with everyone on at the same time, we might as well end it. Perhaps next time there will be spare time and we can all join in properly.  We will make the time to pop into the main dash when we find it, but until then our own plots will be put on hold until February ! When we return, there will be an activity check so say mindful. Thanks again !

alot of people are disappearing without saying they are on hiatus, and then they come back, is that allowed?

We have noted this, but to avoid the idea of targeting people while addressing the situation, we have been trying to build up a way to go about it. But it seems like you've beat us to the punch. We state in our rules that anyone who needs a hiatus should ask for one, be it a semi, or full. We always encourage people to do so rather than just disappear, because it does end up causing issues when something pops up, and a character suddenly wants to get in on it. If you need a few days off, ask for a hiatus and you will be marked down for the period of time you ask for. If you simply vanish, then you will be put on our activity check when the time comes around. We have also made it that if you are listed in the probation list three times that the fourth time you will be put on the unfollow list. We all know real life can get busy all of a sudden, in which both admins are currently dealing with, but a hiatus is what is needed to excuse you from anything that may come up that involves your muse.
