here’s your daily reminder that female muses are constantly ignored and overlooked in favor of male characters. whether you like to believe it or not, misogyny runs so deep within in this community and i’m tired of seeing people acting as if it doesn’t. female characters are just as worthy as all the attention you put on male muses so start treating them as such.

ok so imagine if muse a was the wealthy ceo of a large company and muse b was their personal assistant and they hate each other and argue all the time – muse b stays because it pays well, muse a doesn’t fire them because muse b is insanely competent at their job

muse a has recently been dumped/divorced and is in kind of a slump about it. muse b is totally unsympathetic and thinks muse a had it coming.

but then muse a gets invited to an event where it’d be very embarrassing if they went alone so they ask muse b to be their date

“come with me to this event” “no” “please i can’t go by myself” “sucks to be you” “i’ll buy you something to wear” “no” “it’ll be just like a vacation” “no” “five-star hotel” “no” “…i’ll give you a thousand bucks” “when’s the event?”

so they go but to their surprise they actually have a really nice time together and spend the whole night hanging out and dragging muse a’s ex (who may or may not be in attendance)

and maybe something romantic blossoms from it or it could just be a brotp thing but at the end of the night muse a gives muse b their check and muse b just smiles and rips it up and plz it could be really cute

     Reminder that you can always say NO to something in role play.

     You can say no and the other person should respect that. 

     If they don’t agree with you saying no to something, then fucking run. 

     As with my previous rant about IC and OOC being separate and that fiction is fiction so whatever can be written, we need to also remember that saying no is fine and nobody should put you down nor attack you for it. 

     If you are in a situation where somebody says you have to do X or Y and you really don’t want to, or that it is heading that way, you can always say no. You can back out. You can propose things going a different way even. You don’t have to do whatever somebody says.

     You are in your right to say no. You are in your right to back away from somebody’s role play if it is not how things should be going nor how you want it to go.*

     Yes, it can be hard to say no. It can be scary. You may fear the response. But you are still within your right to just say ‘no, I don’t want X to happen’. Bring it up. If somebody starts whining or trying to force something then back away because that is fucking toxic. 

     This is role play. It is made up. If somebody starts trying to get their way then they are wrong. You can say no. You can say no. You can fucking say no. Especially if it relates to a squick, trigger, permanent harm or even death.

     You are always within your right to just say no. Remember this.

* Within reason. Don’t face an antagonist for instance and expect to get away free without any repercussions. This is where you need to plot an alternative to whatever you said no to, to keep it close to logics. Don’t be that person that faces something and just says no to consequences. Plot plot plot. Get something worked out that benefits both parties. Hell, throw a spanner in the works and suddenly something happens if needs be.
