personally i don't have a lot to say about the ships in the drakengard series. i'm neutral on the vast majority of them, such as caim and angelus, nowe and manah, and cent and two. i've seen interesting ones such as caim and inaurt, even caim and leonard, though not enough to grasp me. in terms of rarepairs, i kinda like the idea of three and dito. i would've loved to see more about manah and urick's relationship in drakengard 2, their dynamic made me quite hooked on them in the platonic sense. also anon thank you for mentioning the homicidal couple of midgard, glad you enjoy them as much as i do

Nowe and Manah travel to the Grand Shrine searching for Seere but encounter a young woman with an obscured face stained with blood and underneath her hair appears to be an emotionless cold gaze. The woman takes notice of Manah and prepares to start the "execution", only for Nowe to beg for her to stop, as what she would do would pull her and Manah apart. This prompts Sirene to agree to a duel to resolve the matter.

During the fight, Sirene has 2 phases. Her first phase consists of leaps and melee strikes, and her second phase will increase her agility and dexterity, enabling her to execute longer attack strings. She will also be able to fly around the battlefield, evading several of your attacks, while sending forth powerful projectiles. Pay attention to her attack patterns and prediction lines and avoid them as best you can!

Phase 1

Attack: Sirene will attack Nowe/Manah with her currently equipped sword, performing a horizontal slash followed by a hooking pull. She may follow up with two or three additional attacks depending on the distance of the player.

Combo Attack: Sirene will often follow up usage of non-damaging magic with a combo attack by launching her sword on the ground to do a spinning kick at Nowe/Manah, though she may also do this even after using damaging magic against Nowe/Manah.

Effect Attack: Sirene jumps high into the air and dives towards Nowe/Manah, slicing with her sword. If below 70% of her HP, follows up with a ice slash.

Efflorescent Deliverance: Sirene fires five ice shards in a tight spread followed by an ice wheel that curves towards Nowe/Manah. If below 70% of her HP, she rains down ice in a small area.

Frozen Silence: Sirene will also conjure six icy spears that surround Nowe/Manah before converging on them.

After finishing Phase 1, a cutscene will show Nowe and Sirene fighting sword to sword until he plunges his sword into her chest. Assuming her to be finished, Nowe watches in horror as Sirene pulls his sword out and screams. Surrounded by a purple magical light, the area will be shielded in Song Magic and Sirene fully heals, now accompanied by her pact beast Sylph by her side. From there, she will equip her second weapon, a staff that conceals her dagger.

Phase 2

Attack: Upon starting Phase 2, Sirene immediately plunges down at Nowe/Manah.

Combo Attack: Sirene will spin and slam her staff and follow up with 6 consecutive slash attacks from her sword.

Effect Area: Sirene summons 3 wind vortexes that pull Nowe/Manah in if nearby, then transforms them into icy storms that move around the arena for 30 seconds.

Mystical Retribution: Sirene will direct her weapon to drink Nowe/Manah’s HP, throwing her dagger that pierces through them when wounded, which turn the staff crimson in color. As a result, Sirene’s strength and speed would then grow in proportion to the amount of the blood the staff drinks. Additionally, the more blood it consumes, its form will change from a staff to a scythe.

Lonesome Sorrow: Sirene marks a cross-shaped area on the floor and sets off a trail of ice explosions and a trail of wind explosions.

Sylph’s Harvest: When her HP is down by 30%, Sylph will launch a full area attack of lightning and rain explosions.

Once Nowe/Manah defeats Sirene and completes ending A, a new weapon is unlocked called Deific Piercer and can be wielded by Nowe. This sword greatly increases Nowe’s speed, has good reach, and casts ice and wind magic, but needs to do plenty of combos to do damage.

During the second playthrough, a new weapon is unlocked called Ravaging Rite and can be wielded by Manah. It is a staff that deals with an insane amount of attack damage and its magic draws the blood and lifeforce out of enemies. The more leveled up the weapon is, it can transform from a staff to a scythe made out of ice and blood.

was trying to enjoy a drakengard review intro of chapter 13 but it was edited w/the horror of the shinjuku citizens + the bell tolls but it cut to a wawa ad for dollar iced teas
