July 2025 - CHARLY BLISS SUMMER!!! Guppy is The Summer Album of all time imo. But Forever is in the #1 spot bc I had the back-to-back-to-back combo of Tragedy + Calling You Out + Back There Now on repeat every day for like. A week and a half. Teehee

Anyway new Somerset Thrower album was really good. I continue to be obsessed with Greet Death's Die In Love and LS Dunes' Violet, which are both gonna be in the top 5 for AOTY this year probably. Saw Stateside and Four Year Strong this month so spent some time with their most recent records - both bands are really fun live. Had a Killing Joke Moment. Loved the new Laura Stevenson record (but ouch!). Yeule was cool. Mojave Phone Booth continues to kick ass

On the narstier end of the spectrum Kontusion, Turian, Disembodiment and Floating all go pretty hard

i am personally averse to therapy but i do largely think it’s yay and good and flower and yippee! that other people benefit from it. however one very obvious downside of others benefit from therapy is that they now have one and only one model for what an emotionally open, validating, and meaningful conversation looks like and it is them responding to my complaints as if they are the therapist and i am, well, them. i find this type of short sightedness tedious bc like, well this isn’t a type of solution i seek out for myself! i know my complaints are valid— this is why i am voicing them! not every conversation needs or benefits from a therapist. my god. i don’t believe most people are crowd sourcing judgments so that they can feel something before actually feeling it and i don’t believe that you do either!

People will talk about "hygiene" and they mean extensive skin care routines and cosmetics instead of preventing the spread of contagious diseases through requiring structural renovations for better ventilation of workplaces, schools, & public spaces and universal healthcare that includes easy, accessible, free testing & vaccinations.

People will talk about "nutrition" and they mean promoting expensive, restrictive diets dependent on imperial food systems and the promotion of anti-fat and anti-black policies, instead of doing anything to prevent the widespread nutrient deficiencies caused by our government's deliberate, ongoing starvation of Palestinian people.
