For what it's worth, I've never played Kingdom Hearts, so I by default think of them as "that one Eva singer" rather than "that one Kingdom Hearts singer". But to be honest, I kind of knew of them as "that one singer the rabbit girl from DiGi Charat is a reference to" before Eva 1.01 came out.

It just makes a lot of sense why Marcille and Laios would be good friends, really, because Marcille Will Tell You What Is On Her Mind. If she doesn't like something, she throws a tantrum. If she's down to clown, she clowns like a champ. If she has an opinion, she voices it clearly and concisely. Laios knows exactly where Marcille stands in pretty much every topic.

On Marcille's end, she's down to clown more than people give her credit for. Laios said "yo let's play with these bones and rearrange them in funny ways" and Marcille joined right in. Like, yeah, she'll want to bonk his skull in sometimes, but aside from the monster and dungeon fascination, she's pretty much in the same wavelength as Laios when it comes to most things.

Which is cool! Because they could've made them hostile siblings in law but they are besties actually.

Seeing a lot of black and white "shuro is bad!!!" and "shuro is good!!!" posts. My hot take?

Shuro is a human who acts like a human and is somewhere in the middle like the majority of the population.

Was he a dick to Laios? Yes, and he should've been more honest with him, in a straight forward way, about not wanting to be around him. But also, that shit is TOUGH to do. I've had situations where I've been around someone I can't stand, and it's hard to cut people off or at the very least set boundaries.

I think there's a lot of nuance to it, and putting yourself in one camp or the other doesn't do justice to his character.

Listen, I totally agree that it’s super sad that it turned out Shuro had been annoyed by Laios the whole time he’d considered them to be friends. I get it! I’ve been in his shoes, I was the annoying friend.

But I think it’s also important to not ignore the feelings of Shuro, the one who was being annoyed, at the same time. It’s possible to acknowledge how both people felt without villainizing one of them.

I feel like when it comes to outsiders hearing about a fight two people had, they’ll do this thing where they take the side of whoever they feel most bad for or relate to the most and gang up on/ignore the reasons the other person has and it kind of sucks!

And the point Shuro makes about it being worse that Laios meant no harm is probably because it meant there was no reason for him to tell him to fuck off without looking like an asshole!!

There’s no reason to blame Shuro’s inability to communicate that he wanted space if you’re not going to do the same for Laios’s social blunders.

listen man i think we're past "in a modern au laois would be a furry." like that's not a headcanon, guys. laios is a furry. it is textually explicit that he is a furry. it's impossible to miss. the climax of the manga dungeon meshi literally hinges around the fact that laois has a fursona. he could not be more obviously a furry

person who has only watched one anime: what i really love about dungeon meshi is how it subverts our expectations of a typical anime by not sexualising women and having a good plot!
