     The utter betrayal ! She has never felt this betrayed before–she probably has but details, details;; that’s not what’s important now ! –she was absolutely && most definitely feel betrayed by him. && she’s got some beef about that right there as she huffed in annoyance && looked up at him ( because he was much, much taller than her that is not at a small margin ).

      ❝ Yeah, yeah, very funny. That joke’s gonna be outdated soon. “ She was 100% not amused at that, not at all– even her tone lacked anything that showed she was the slightest bit entertained by him. 

      ❝ Is it that surprising to see me here ? “ Now it was her turn to look proud of herself at her own achievements. ❝ See, I’ve been leveling up a lot && ta da ! Now I’m here ! “ It wasn’t an easy journey, for starters but she really did it– why would she not be proud of herself from this ?

 He let out a short puff of laughter. That reaction was much flatter than he’d expected, but somehow that just made it that little bit funnier, especially with that little scowl she had to crane her neck to deliver.

 “Soon, but not yet,” he shrugged, finally looking back down to her. Despite his teasing, he really was proud of her improvement. It felt like just yesterday that the Thieves had to devote an entire week to helping her come out of her shell, so to see her out without even her mask was a feat in and of itself. “Surprise or not, it’s impressive, Futaba. So, well done.” He took a moment to think, recalling that she mentioned her mother patting her head when she was proud of her. Much more carefully than the last time, he reached out to mimic it, hoping that it wouldn’t surprise her as much as before.

 “I’m pretty sure nobody else is here, so you must have advanced a job class or two. I thought you couldn’t deal with things like this without someone with you?”

 since i’m going to be writing things up soon, i figure i should explain my writing style for people that don’t play persona! i wasn’t the one who thought of this idea - that’s owed to the old writer of minato in citta - but i loved the idea so much that i wanted to incorporate it.

 occasionally, you may see three lines in a block quote in the middle of a post, right before some dialogue. this is meant to emulate the dialogue choices in the series, since akira here is the protagonist! the one that’s chosen is marked > like this, but isn’t actually pronounced until the actual speech itself! it doesn’t really contribute anything to the thread; if anything, it’s just a nice little detail to see how akira thinks. got it?

 If there was ever a face he’d expect to see here, it wouldn’t be Futaba’s. Not particularly for any semblance of likeliness or preference (as fond as he was of her), but more so just how rare it was to see her out by herself. It wasn’t as if she had much of a choice, but the effort hadn’t gone unnoticed.

How are you? > Sometimes I can still hear her voice... Are you feeling okay?

 "Hm?” Glasses to glasses, their eyes met. The moment he caught the stream of orange hair that told him he wasn’t just imagining things, he slipped on that same cool smile as always and glanced away dramatically. “Strange, I could have sworn I heard something.”

 “That chandelier can’t have been secured well if it was broken so easily.” That’s what you choose to focus on, out of everything!?

  He could have sworn that the Metaverse had disappeared. By all means, it shouldn’t have been possible for him to get so far away from home overnight. Granted, there was a physical list of people who wanted his head on a pike, and who could easily have kidnapped him or something of the like, but that wasn’t likely if they were still in Tokyo. 

 A faint knock at the door - rather, a faint series of blunt thumps - took him from perusing that very same list mentally, instead setting his thoughts on who could be checking in on him. It certainly made a pleasant change from the harsh conditions from the holding cell. Even the sun streaming through the window felt warmer than normal compared to that place, but he couldn’t help but wonder if it was because he had been given something to ‘jog his memory’ again when he saw a sheep in a(n admittedly very cute) postman hat hand him slobber-covered mail.

What in the goddamn!?

 Well, he had seen stranger... Not by much, but things had certainly been stranger than this. As he read through what could still be made out from the letter, he noticed the distinct lack of commentary by Morgana. Considering that, it likely wasn’t the fault of the Metaverse, but that only lead to more questions, especially with how cryptic the introduction from whoever Stella and Aries were.

 He wasn’t going to get any answers in here, he decided. Taking only his usual bag, which had not only made the journey but felt oddly light without a cat inside it, he exited the room, giving his mailsheep a pat on the head as thanks on the way.

 He could reply to the letter later. For now, he needed to look around and see what he could take from this place, both figuratively and literally.
