Baseball great Jackie Robinson was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame on this date July 23, 1962.

He is the first baseball player to break Major League Baseball’s color barrier that segregated the sport for more than 50 years.

Jackie Robinson’s life and legacy will be remembered as one of the most important in American history.
