A Solitary September Sojourn: My Experience Hiking Puig Campana
The ascent of Puig Campana, while offering an ethereal encounter with nature, is undeniably challenging. The trail undertakes an almost 1,000 m elevation gain, weaving through varied terrains that demand both physical and mental fortitude.
In the serene proximity of the bustling Benidorm, stands the stoic Puig Campana, a majestic peak that not only dominates the landscape but also entwines itself within the local myths and cultural tapestry of the region. This past late September (2023), I found myself tracing the trails of this monumental mountain, embracing a solo journey that promised both adventure and introspection amidst…

Aboriginal engravings at Moon Rock, Garigal National Park, Australia
Aboriginal engravings at Moon Rock, Garigal National Park, Australia
We recently visited one of the biggest sites with Aboriginal engravings – Moon Rock in Garigal National Park in Sydney, Australia. The place offers a beautiful vantage point with views of the ocean. Some sources say Moon Rock has about 50 engravings depicting Aboriginal astronomical knowledge, lunar phases, and Baiame, the creator-spirit. The Moon Rock loop hike is an easy one that will take you…

Can you find palm trees at Three Palm Tree Lagoon?
Can you find palm trees at Three Palm Tree Lagoon?
Firstly, we don’t know if that’s the actual name of the lagoon. We found names such as Wadi Darif (Tharif/Tarif) and Khawr Dhurf. The place is desolate, but we did find lots of 4×4 tracks and a few roaming camels. Secondly, we didn’t make it to the coast as the road was getting trickier and trickier. Lastly, we think it’s a fantastic spot for an overnight stay with the vast landscapes that must…

A beautiful seaside oasis - Khor Sanq, Oman
A beautiful seaside oasis – Khor Sanq, Oman
A must visit for anyone travelling on the coastal route between Hasik and Duqm. Khor Sanq (also known Wadi Al Nakheel) in Niyabat near Hasik is a beautiful natural oasis rich in palm trees. A narrow trail between the khor and mountains will lead you to a 300m secluded beach only accessible on foot or by boat — also an excellent place for camping.

Eye to eye with reef sharks in Yasawa Islands, Fiji 🦈🏝🇫🇯
Bula Vinaka! Fiji is well known for its beautiful white-sand beaches and gorgeous weather. We visited the Fijian islands back in 2016, but only now, thanks to the pandemic, we had a chance to edit and review our memories, photos and videos. One of the most remarkable moments was swimming with reef sharks. Reef SharkYasawa Islands – FijiYasawa Islands – FijiYasawa Islands – Fiji

Humpback dolphins in Musanda, Oman
Humpback dolphins in Musanda, Oman
One of our last trips in Oman was to Musandam aka Arabian Fiords. Sometimes called the ‘Norway of Arabia’ – Oman’s Musandam peninsula is known for its spectacular fjord-like sunken valleys(khors) and is one of the finest scenic attractions in the Sultanate of Oman. It is also a unique place where you can get up close to Humpback dolphins. We met several Humpback dolphins (Sousa Chinensis) on our…
