End of Semester
I can't believe this semester is almost over, just a few more weeks! Last week, I had my last two exams before finals and they went well for me. Now all that is left for me to do is my remediation for the ATI exams I took earlier this semester and my essay for this class. Otherwise, I just have to study for finals. This was definitely a hard semester and unusual since everything was online. I am ready for this semester to be over and I am looking forward to winter break.

Finishing Up the Semester
There is a little less than a month until the fall semester is over and I am looking forward to it! This week I have exams in patho and med surg. After that, I do not have any exams until finals week. It seems so far away but I know it will come up quickly! After my exams this week, I will start to study for finals since they are cumulative and will cover a lot of information. I also have a lot of other work to do before the semester winds down. This semester definitely has been crazy and I never imagined it being like this.

Maternity Clinical
This semester I have my maternity clinical at Delaware County Memorial Hospital. I have been on the postpartum floor as well as the nursery. On the postpartum floor, I administered medications to the moms and took their vital signs. I also prepared a bottle of formula for their babies and helped them with proper feeding techniques. In the nursery I got to take the babies’ temperature and do a quick exam on them. I assisted the nurses by bringing the babies back to their mother’s rooms and getting them situated there. Next week is my last week here and it has been a neat experience.

Nursing School Exams Round 1
I have survived my first round of exams this semester! Overall I am proud of the grades I have earned and put in a lot of work studying as well as preparing for the multiple exams I had. Exam weeks were very stressful but I made it through. I previously did not realize how much work nursing school was going to take but I am willing to put in the work in order to graduate. The hard work will definitely pay off!

Nursing School During a Pandemic
I've never imagined I would be going to college in the middle of a pandemic. All of my classes are online, I am living again at home, I miss my roommates, and I miss on-campus activities such as marching band. It feels weird to only see my classmates on a screen and not in person as well as doing virtual clinical. I feel more disconnected from Widener considering the fact I am living at home and not able to be on campus. Despite all of this, I am still keeping in touch with friends and replacing what would have been my on campus social life with friends from work. Hopefully, everything will once again be normal for the spring. This semester will definitely be a unique one and one that I will always remember.
