Homecoming

Hey guys, this is my first venture into any sort of fan fic. I’m not a writer by any means (just the research papers I’ve been writing for the past eight years of my life, which is a bit different than fiction lol), so don’t judge too harshly. Also, I just kinda wrote it out in one sitting so there’s that too. Anyway, the fic takes place fall of their sophomore year (so when S4 would’ve hypothetically taken place) and is sort of like a GM Semi Formal high school edition. Probably going to be 3 or 4 chapters, nothing crazy. Okay, here ya go :) Here’s chapter 1

Alright, here’s a closer look at that orange board that has been driving me crazy since I first saw it in GMHS.

We have several historical references on the board including:

Martin Luther King to the far left. (1961)

Galileo with a telescope- top left

The Mona Lisa

We’ve got Mars at the top. (Washington/STEM)

Notice how the board starts in orange from the left and slowly fades to black on the right. The edges are burnt too! The path is outlined in red and completely orange on the left. The board is outlined in red and black ( Starry Night ❤️♠️🌃)

To the right we have a rainbow path that ends in red (starry night?)

This reminds me of Yearbook: Farkle- Donnie Barnes

When Farkle stands up there is a red circle above his shoulder that says, “you are here”.

(So we’re halfway across what I think is the long game.)

I’m trying to find a way to read the scientific and technical references. The green car is probably referring to Blarg (green face)

Theory time: This board is the outline of the long game- Farkle’s road to feelings/humanity and the major lesson of what love actually is.

Breaking the game board path down we start with orange (Turtleneck Farkle)

The next color is red (either Riley, ❤️ or both)

Mars is right there too ( Red Planet Diaries?)

The next color is pink for Smackle

Then purple- Purple Cat World

The darker the purple, the further down the rabbit hole of logic > feelings

Then we have green - Blarg?

Blue- Lucas

Technology is placed between green and yellow

Yellow- Maya

As Mely pointed out, the yellow square has a bird (Farkle to Maya: I’m a bird to you?)

Then we have orange again.

I’m going to take this as Farkle becoming who he truly is- accepting his real self (no longer the faceless bear)

Red is the rest of the way (Riley, love, both) Just updating as I go:
