Artemis doesn’t have to say it out loud, Marluxia knows she can’t have possibly forgiven him not matter what feeble excuse he conjured up. He done so much to control the beast and he failed. She should have killed him when he had the chance. She’s right about him, his darkness and it consuming him. It’s turning him into something he can’t resist. Trying to put a stop to it only hastens his transformation and makes him hungrier. 

The coat smells like the tea they drink on cold nights. It makes him smile, in spite of myself.

“I’m a pathetic creature.violence  I used to be obessed with power, I reveled in violence. Then I became this, but then I met you.” Marluxia mutters. “I’m glad at this stage...so far at the end of my life...that I was able to meet you. You’ve managed to touch this corrupted heart but now...I think even that ahs run it’s course.” He continues. “Do you still want to save me now?”

Though she may never admit it aloud; her heart hasn’t forgiven him for killing and consuming the villager. Her mind tries to reason it and even imagine the events leading up to it, but learning to forgive is another thing altogether. Still, Artemis even blames and hasn’t forgiven herself for her part of the incident and for never hearing him out. It may be one of those wounds where it takes time, such a rare commodity, to heal. It may not either and fester into an ugly scar.

Artemis is even trying to figure out why she offered. Perhaps, she believed that she knew the darkness almost as well as the back of her hand. But her darkness, and his, they were two vastly different sides of a coin, or maybe the phases of a moon. Perhaps, Marluxia’s darkness is waning out toward complete blackness. 

There is something wrong about watching him hunched over while clutching to her sleeve and the simple ‘please’ he uttered. Instinct screams run, but there is a part of her wanting to reach out for Marluxia. And she does in her own way, removing her coat to wrap around him. It is getting too cold, and he seems to need it more than her.

Marluxia has never been a selfless man, so he finds himself unable to cope with the guilt that comes with her offer. Still years of isolation have taken their toll. Through no fault of her own, Artemis has become a final lifeline tying him to his sinking humanity. Head bent in shame, he clutches her sleeve with his trembling hands, trying to calm his ragged breathing. 

“Please.” Is all he says, but it nearly shatters him. He wants her to stay even though he’s in his weak, shameful state. She’s made him into such a fool, yet it’s that foolishness keeping him alive.

@fervordreams Those sounds, that voice...Meadowsweet wades into murky, familiar waters but they're warm and pleasant if a little terrifying. Lea bites his lip and Meadowsweet responds by going for another kiss. The taste of their tongues colliding is electric. Its so good, he considers completely surrendering control, wanting Lea to take him right then and there but perhaps they can work up to that. A pleasant warmth spreads throughout his body and Meadowsweet wonders what will happen when their warmth combines. He hikes up Lea's shirt, touching the bare skin underneath, tentatively at first but then hungrily.

For a moment, Meadowsweet is completely overwhelmed. Lea is so powerful in this moment, from his tight hold to his long thrumming growl that goes straight to his groin. His eyes instinctively close and he finds himself pressing back into the kiss needily and desperately. The taste of Lea's mouth alone is enough to make his toes curl. Something in his mind tells him that he shouldn't enjoy this, he should be scared. Anyone who wants this will throw him away soon after.

He breaks the kiss, placing his hands on Lea's chest and pulling away. Meadowsweet doesn't say anything at first, he just stares deeply into Lea's eyes searching for something. Lea's astounding patience and kindness has endured through their hardships and worse. He's given Meadowsweet so much that can never be taken away. The former soldier can search all he wants, but there is no reservation or betrayal in Lea's eyes. After all this time, Meadowsweet is finally ready. Slowly, he kisses him again. The kiss is soft but every bit as ravishing as before. He pants against Lea's lips and only finds himself able to say one thing in a soft, heated whisper,

"I want you."

 He doesn’t know when it went from innocent flirts and touches to something heated and carnal, but Lea has the rosette pressed to the wall, a growl escaping the redheads chest, that vibrates through them both as he presses their mouths together in a tooth melding kiss, his arms sliding around the other mans frame. He isn’t about to let go, not when they are pressed so close and he can feel the heat radiating off of their bodies. Fingers itching to bury in rose colored locks, but clench into the fabric of clothing instead, knowing better. Aware even in the heat of passion the rebuttal he’d receive.
