I am looking for anyone who would like to volunteer to write some bios for the following fandoms:  Revolution, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel the Series, Teen Wolf, the Vampire Diaries / the Originals, Supernatural and Being Human (BBC).  Also, Resident Evil, Blade, Charmed, Hellboy, any of the others that fall into our 'etc' categories that might fit in here that anyone would be interested in helping out with too, I'm all ears!

We have also had an opening in our mod team -- primarily working on bios, queuing advertisements, helping with plot points and general maintenance of the site and so forth.  If anyone is interested in putting their name in the hat please let me know and I can discuss it with you via skype, aim, etc.

Some coming changes!

In the next few weeks, on top of (finally) finishing updating the bio graphics etc, I will be officially introducing some more canon groups into GY, appropriately adapted to fit our setting here. These will include Resident Evil (Umbrella Corp. having been responsible for a mutant strain of vampirism or werewolfism, etc. which I will write more up of when I have a more solid idea of what those will be) and Revolution (via some time warp / wormhole effects). I might get to fleshing out some others that have been on the etc list for a while too, such as Hellboy (BPRD etc) and the Blade cast but we will see what the next few weeks bring! If there are any other groups, fandoms, etc. that you would like to see officially incorporated, please let me know! Also, we will be getting a new (or at least modified) banner on our main page and mayyyyyybe a theme revamp but, I have not decided for certain. Also as a side note, if anyone else likes writing bios or summaries or city locations etc and would want to help out, please let me know asap! Bluebird

How active is this rp?

Hey!  It has had its ups and downs especially since we had a bit of rearranging in staff and admin positions this last month, and it's final exams and graduation and such but things should steady out and pick up in the next few weeks.  

We are always accepting new applications and some of our roles will be opening up when the activity check ends in a few days as well so if there is anyone that you are interested in don't hesitate to let us know!

Can two characters from different shows interact? (Ex: Dean Winchester talking to Chuck Bass? Or, Rebekah Mikealson talking to Derek Hale?)

Of course! That is, in fact, one of our main reasons for combining the genres is so that all of the different characters can interact and we can see how they can plot and how they react to the different elements that are brought by the different settings!

I just wanted to take a minute to voice a very loud and heartfelt appreciation for all of our members.  You guys write your characters so fantastically, and you're all so supportive of everyone and friendly behind the scenes you all just make it an absolute pleasure to be here.  I am so glad that you all decided to join us here at Graceless Years and I can't wait to see what the coming months will hold as the story arcs here continue to flourish.

Alexandra "Alex" Millar || 23

Ghost || Canon || OPEN || Kate Bracken

Personality: Impatient, daring, stubborn, forgiving and resentful.

Powers/Skills: Ghost skills, teleportation, limited telepathy and empathy, etc.

ALL AROUND ME ARE FAMILIAR FACES

She hadn't even had time, really, to cope with the fact that she was dead, that the boy that she'd dated was an immortal (her) blood-drinking vampire, and that his roommate was a werewolf, when it all went into a deeper of a hell in a handbasket.  Not only were they now on the list of the most wanted for having been party to the blowing up of the Old Ones, but now, her own ability to stay focused and in one place as a ghost was on the fritz.   Still, the last thing she wants is to just disappear without finishing what needs finished, and so when Hal recommends they travel to a city in Louisiana -- America, of all places -- to try and find answers, she finds herself forced to agreeing.  Not without the occasional complaint of course, seeing as she isn't entirely pleased about any part of this plan, especially when she hears stories that other people that died are just straight up coming back to life, no rent-a-ghost-ing included. After a time, the trio are settled and doing well in New Orleans with no new answers, but a newly solidified presence, no pun intended. Alex managed to get a handle on her flickering just in time for her feelings to unravel a bit towards Hal -- what she and Tom don't know is that Hal has been dealing with his own nightmares, which caused him to have one of his bad spells. Alex helped get Hal into a contained cell in an abandoned warehouse, and Tom has since forced him into a chair and babysat him while Hal detoxes -- but the damage is already done.

Changes (from Canon to The Graceless Years)

Canon storyline ends with Series 4.

After the death of the Old Ones Alex's stability and control over her powers began to fluctuate.

Was told that there were answers to be found in New Orleans.

Has recently traveled to NOLA with Hal and Tom seeking answers and refuge from retaliation for their actions against the Old Ones.

Her condition has improved as does her bond with Tom and Hal -- but with Hal's recent indiscretions, Alex finds herself more anxious than ever about just about anything and everything.

Glorificus "Glory" || 1000+ (Ancient)

Personality: Childish, power hungry, materialistic, unstable, easily angered.

Powers/Skills: 

Immortal: Being a god from a different dimension, Glory cannot die from mortal wounds or sickness. This also means that she never ages, or views life as precious as those around her.

Super Strength: With great strength, her power is greater than that of a slayer. Being able to crumble walls, be stabbed repeatedly with sharp objects (no wounds), and easily block magical spells.

Magic: Despite not being her most strong suit, she can perform summoning magic but rarely does so.

Mind Eating: Sticking her fingers into someone’s head, she is able to consume their very personality, the memories, and almost their information. Even though the victims are worthless and stupid afterward, they still do things for Glory for her to achieve victory without even knowing what their doing.

DRESSED TO KILL I'LL BE CAUSING

After the fall of Glorificus, many of her minions somehow managed to escape and flee from Sunnydale where the worked endlessly to find the perfect way to bring back their fallen god. Years later, after the end of Sunnydale the ugly minions found a somewhat perfect spell to bring the beast back. The only small price that it paid was the life of six different people, along with the host for the spirit to enter.  Without another question six of the small numbered minions cast away their life in order to bring back the beast, with a proper host.  Even at first when the spell first started working, the god had to adjust to the new body making it a little difficult to come up with any proper plan of action.  Finally after a few months of resting and regaining her power, her first order of business was to have her newly found body turned back to looking exactly like she did before her death

Still with her same 'ole personality, revenge was the very first thing on her mind after regaining her beautiful looks. Sending out the small number of minions she has left, she gained information and knowledge of what happen in Sunnydale, and what happen to those that survived on that day. Once finding out that there is more than one possible slayer, Glory came up with the wonderful idea of using the possible slayer as food sources, draining their mind slowly, enjoying the sound of the inner thoughts, as they scream out in agony.

MASS DESTRUCTION SO SHIELD YOUR EYES

Buffy: Thinking she was the one that ended her life, there is no question that her main rage is focused on her. Wanting nothing more than to destroy everything the slayer loves and holds dear, Glory enjoys seeing her face twist and turn with anger every time she takes away something she loves.

Ben: Once being brought back from the dead, Glory still holds many of Ben’s personality.  This makes her feel guilty every time she takes the mind of an innocent, or kills a human for her own enjoyment. Of course she easily over looks this feeling and does she pleases.

Willow: Finding this one just as annoying as the slayer. All she really knows about her, is the fact that she was the one that took some of her ‘food’ away.

Minions: Followers that will know anything the beast says with no question what so ever. Even though they’re not the brightest minions a woman could ask for, they are by far the most loyal.

THAT WE ARE ONE

Changes (from Canon to The Graceless Years)

Needs more minds in order to stay stable.

Till a certain date and time, she can become injured more easily. 

Is a little more cruel then she was before she died.

Mardi Gras event fallout; see HERE for more information.

Home Run murders now holding at number 9.  (next set meant to be ‘guardians’; will be expanding this plot in coming weeks).

Suspicions and tensions running high between religious factions in the city.

Slayers and Watchers on high alert as the supernatural aspects bleed more into the ‘real’ world.  

Hunters, etc. have begun to gather in the city in higher numbers increasing tensions with the Slayers/Watchers, as well as making it more dangerous to be a supernatural creature at this point, especially with the voodoo practitioners and the religious zealots keeping a wary eye out for trouble.

Magic users, witches, warlocks, etc. have begun to notice an occasional influx of power, heightening their spells and innate abilities for brief periods of time with no perceivable cause.

Supernatural creatures will begin to notice sporadic spikes in their strength, speed, etc., though this will be countered by other increases as well (hunger, emotions, so forth).

Humans with any ties to the supernatural world are very likely to perceive the changes in the atmosphere of the city.

Angels are practically everywhere; it's more dangerous than ever to be a demon and humans, and perhaps even werewolves and vampires if times are desperate enough, may be called on to play host to the exiled supernatural entities.
