Final Zine Poster
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I feel like it's a bit rushed. As you can see I chose two colours which is yellow and blue. I had too many colours which made it kind of random. Overall I am happy with it even the poster, people may not understand it at first but reading it will give you a better understanding.

Final Zine Poster Ideas
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This will probably be my final poster, It stands out more than the other two. The second one looks like a lot is going on but this one has a lot but not too much in terms of text.

What to add for Zine poster
What are we doing?
“Toxic Free” is a campaign aiming to raise awareness about the importance of ‘Toxic masculinity’ and why it can lead to serious health issues. We will be holding an event during the school holidays to teach children (teenagers & young adults) about the importance of mental health .
This booklet mentions solutions in which you can reduce toxic masculinity, and help people to regain their mental health into a positive and healthy way.
Mental Health
Understanding what mental health is and being able to share your thoughts about it, is the first way of helping others. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood.
The Importance
Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make healthy choices.
Toxic Masculinity
In general, it seems, traditional masculinity makes it hard for men to connect with others—and this in turn hurts their mental health. If not been dealt with, it will increase the risk of psychological distress and suicide.
Talk about it
The best way to challenge toxic masculinity is to talk about it. This means having open and honest conversations with people in your life, regardless of their gender identity. Ask people how they think toxic masculinity affects them.
2. Speak up
Speaking up can be as simple as saying “Hey, that’s not right” or “you shouldn’t say that.” The more you speak up, the more people around you will think before they speak, and maybe even change their attitude or behaviour.
3. Challenge yourself
If you catch yourself saying or thinking something that could be harmful or offensive to others, or is very stereotypical, take a moment to ask where that came from and if you really believe it. Try to rethink before saying soemthing.
4. Encourage people
Try to encourage men (and everyone) in your life to talk about how they’re feeling, and let them know that it’s okay if they are struggling. Asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.
5. Do nice gestures everyday
The more you pass on your generosity, actively care for people, and look outside yourself, the more anti-toxic gas is released into the air. By showing the way to be a good guy you are not just exemplifying what can be done, you are spreading the word.
Infographics
In one study of men in New Zealand, 47% of them said that boys shouldn't cry, 65% believed they should toughen up, over half said boys need to be put in charge, boys don't back down from fights, boys don't show their feelings.
Word of advice
If you see anyone with mental health issues, do take a moment and reach out to that person, we may never know what people be going through. Remember that, expressing ones feelings is not a sign of weakness but a sign of courage. Seek some answers for yourself and take responsibility. The end to toxic masculinity has to be started by men so it becomes socially unacceptable. Let’s start the change now.

Poster series - Collaterals
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There's two different type of styles, outlines and vector. I feel I will push more on the outlines and I will most likely reduce my colour and only make it two colours. There's just too many things going on.

Badges
These are badges I created for my collaterals, hey aren't the best but its not about the visuals it's the meaning behind it.

Stickers
I took one of the badge designs and made it as a sticker. I feel this is something people would like to have, for some may seem childish but I think it's appropriate even for adults.

Animation!
Tumblr media
I picked this up from the M&M class and thought about making an animated poster. It's simple but very affective. I feel it's too fast so I might have t slow it down a bit.
Tumblr media
I want it to be displayed on city screens so that people are aware. I feel it's the best way to catch people attention. I don't know how I can put this in context because it is a gif but maybe I can try and make one on after effects.

Logos: Adding colour
Tumblr media
Just exploring with colour. I want my logo to stand out. I want it to have a positive connotation, the word toxic may sound bad but the colours and the type will make it seem positive, especially when you add the word 'free'. It's kinda like 'smoke free' but in this case it's 'Toxic free' anyways you get the point.

Logo designs
Tumblr media
Making this was simple, I took some inspirations from the caution signs and implemented it in my designs. So basically I was inspired by caution signs and speeches.
Caution sign:
Tumblr media
Purpose of caution sign:
"The caution sign alerts emergency responders and visitors of potential hazards and precautions for entry. Warning signs alert personnel and visitors to health and safety hazards beyond those identified in the caution sign. Specific warning signs may be required based on the type of hazard present."
Talking about alerts and hazards, you can kind of see the correlation between toxic masculinity and these caution signs, firstly "toxic", meaning, poisonous or if you're in a toxic relation, it can be unpleasant and very harmful. What Im trying to say is it's appropriate for my topic.

Collaterals - Billboards
Tumblr media
I don't know how I feel about this billboard, maybe it's the colours they don't really stand out. I will try out a different colour to see if that's better or not.
Tumblr media
I like this one because it stands out and you can read it better, it's more clear than the other colour combination. That said this won't be the final just drafts.
Tumblr media
This similar to the first but without the actual photo, just the outlines. Something simple I feel that the emojis are working I might have to change or maybe even do a billboard with just the emojis and type.
Tumblr media
Different colour combination. Just a draft>

Outlines/Icons
Tumblr media
These are my illustrations I created, I got some inspiration from google images. These were is inspired by the emojis used in apple.
Tumblr media
I created these by drawing over phots that I took of my friend. I told him to pose in away that reflects on mental health. The first one is the hand covering the face, this gives the idea that the person is hiding his feelings. The second pose is arms reaching out, meaning the person is reaching out for help. And the the last one is a sideview, to show the different perspective.
