I found these, and thought they were quite interesting (and some can be funny)

-마음- 

마음을 쓰다: concentrate on; pay attention; mind

마음을 열다: open up and speak freely to someone

마음이 내키다: feel inclined to (do); feel like (doing)

마음이 졸이다: be anxious about; be uneasy about

마음이 든든하다: feel secure; be reassuring

마음이 달다: be very worried about

마음을 먹다: make up one’s mind; be determinated

마음이 맞다: get along with; hit it off

맛이 갔다

In a bad state

(food) gone bad, stale, rotten

맥주 맛이 갔어 = The beer’s gone flat.

(things) broken

내 컴퓨터는 맛이 갔어 = My computer’s given up.

(people) lost it, gone crazy; done for (when tired/drunk/defeated)

쟤 맛이 갔어 = He totally freaked out. 난 그렇게 맛이 가지 않았어 = I wasn’t that wasted.

난초/난= Orchid

~거든요 vs ~거든

Even though they look pretty similar, they're quite different.

~거든요 

It can only be used among close friends, and it is used to respond to a question or to add more information to a statement the speaker has already made to give a reason or thinking behind the statement. The listener has no idea of of the facts being stated by the speaker.

[This can only be used in informal conversation, not on written form]

Examples:

가: 왜 그렇게 슬픈 보여?

나: 시험을 잘 못  봤거든(요) ㅠ 

가: 어제 친구랑 영화를 보러 밖에 나갔지?

나: 아니, 비가 정말 많이 온 바람에 못 갔거든(요).

가: 왜 학교에 안 왔어?

나: 정말 피곤했거든(요).

~거든 

On the other hand, ~거든 is simply used to show a condition or assume something that it is yet to happen.

Examples:

가: 학교 앞에 있는 가게에 가거든 우유를 좀 사 주세요!

정말 피곤하거든 공부하지 마세요 

유럽에 가거든 내 선물을 꼭 사 와야 돼. 알았지?

(Suggestive and imperative sentences can be used in the succeeding clause.)

According to NASA, a neighboring star has 7 Earth-like planets in its orbit

Seven Earth-like planets have been found orbiting a sun not too far — in space terms, at least — from our own.

NASA announced Wednesday that the planets resemble Earth in composition and spacing from their star, which means their conditions might be favorable to liquid water and life, Time reported.

“The planets form a very compact system,” Michaël Gillon of Belgium’s University of Liège, said in a teleconference, according to Time. “They are very close to their star and are reminiscent of the system of moons that orbit Jupiter. They could have liquid water and life.”

Astronomers studied the star, Trappist-1 — which, at 39 light years away from Earth, is considered a relative neighbor — for six years, using telescopes located all over the world, plus the Spitzer Space Telescope. Read more (2/22/17 2:04 PM)
