So thinking about a reverse portal au, you know for evil, and I've come to the realization that Ford would have a Hellva time pretending to be Stanely.

Now, there's two things to keep in mind if Ford tried to be Stanley. Number 1, and most obvious, is that Stan is an actor. He's gone under so many fake names in the last 10 years, and in the show, always pretends he's alright. He's an excellent liar. So, he did an excellent job pretending to be Stanford. To the point, he was able to trick a God.

Ford however, isn't an actor, and he's not a good liar either. You could literally say, "Hey, Stanford." and he'd perk up, then immediately get red in the face once he realize he wasn't supposed to respond to that, then proceed to mess up trying to salvage it. In a month's time, everyone knows there's something up with 'Stanley', and the only reason he'd get away with it, besides someone seeing his pathetic twinless self and deciding to help, is because nobody really knew Stanford and Stanley enough to suspect they swapped. Aka, my favorite way to do a plot twist, lack of imagination.

The second reason, why Stanford would have difficultly being Stanley, is the reason why canon Stan needed to become Stanford in the first place. Stan had plenty of people after him, and had nothing to his name. So, in order to live long enough and have the resources to save Ford, he had to pretend to be Ford.

That's to say, if Stanford had to become Stanley, Ford might've assumed Stanley was living it up and fine like in canon, so thought being Stanley would be a safe bet.

...What a great way to find out how awful your twin has been doing, when the people Stan's been running from show up.

Once Stanley is finally saved, Ford refuses to let him leave and hit the road. Also, for some reason, people keep looking at him funny and everyone who was after him, are now terrified of him or dead. When asked Ford either says "they had it coming". Stan decides he doesn't want to know.

I have a query for your Asylum Ford AU

I was reading your previous answers about Ford's views of his supposed "Dream School" changing, and how it was really a den of elitist and classist pricks. And it got me thinking...

What if Ford's new views on WCT came from his crappy experiences with his Psychologist? I like to imagine that every single one of his psychologists is an alumnus from WCT, and he mostly sees them being bumbling buffons or incompetent morons.

Each of the psychologists then checks that he has thirteen degrees to his name, which is beyond impressive, until they all see that every single one of them is from Backupsmore.

Several of them state a few snide remarks, such as, "Pshh, you'd have a harder time making a peanut butter & jelly sandwich than getting a doctorate from that place." Or, "Damn, that school really will allow any dreg of society, understandable considering they don't have a center of research dedicated to my family, unlike back in WCT." As well as, "I'm sorry, I just can't stop staring at your fingers. I doubt anyone from any chess fraternity at West Coast would've allowed you with that. My team went to finals, although we did have to break a few rules as well, fingers, too." Ford then comes to the conclusion that "THESE ARE THE MORONS WHO GOT IN EXCEPT ME?!! He comes to believe that WCT will allow anyone who has money. That it was just a really expensive Daycare where if he did go, he would've grown to dislike it. I got the idea after your answer about A!Ford Meeting C!Ford. Though one more small question, I'd like to ask is, do you think that Ford will start to thank Stanley for sparing him from such a pompous institution, or do you think he'll resent him more because of the fact that they should've let practically anyone in, and he wasn't that anyone?

Totally see this happening lmao. 80% of his psych team were WCT alumni. And they were all self obsessed idiots who Ford got into at least 4 fistfights with. He complains about them to Shermie a LOT.

one of his psychiatrist was Dickie Sibling, of the Sibling brothers (He later got arrested for embezzlement and drug charges). Ford nearly murdered him on at least 3 counts. And of course, he and his brother Ascot paid their way through west coast tech. Damn nepo babies.

Whether is be a universe where he takes the journal, whether it be a universe where the roles between Dipper/Mabel and Stan/Ford are reversed,

Hell, if the circumstances were different, Stanley from the canon universe would’ve also chosen to become a guardian.

The question is, can these Stanley’s interact?

Yes, they can. They shouldn’t, their first instinct would be to attack each other. It’s just not encouraged.

In the many guardians that he has recruited, the Axolotl at least hopes in this universe that things will go Stans way for once.

For the information Stan and Ford were Born in 1984. Stan was kick out in 2001 when he was 17, and both of them send to Teyvat and they were stuck here in 2010 and both of them are now 28 years old in 2012

idk I still think about that for awhile...

no, Ford has never been shown in any GF media, nor Alex's words (if you care to take his words as complete canon at least), to have a fear of snakes. The only time i've heard of that headcanon was through an interesting comic series exploring it some fan made that i saw a while back. sure is an interesting headcanon though! i wonder how he could've been made to fear them, honestly. maybe something in the portal...
