look dasli has been the best uber in the game for years at this point. 12k base dps at lvl 30 with surge, insane survivability, we all know the routine. phono is a really good superbackliner but lacks nearly all the immunities, large area insane dps (his insane dps is in a tiny area and the space around it is his average dps), and his only real advantage is that ponos made an entire class of enemies to beat dasli and then centered the game around them and she's STILL the best uber in the game bc not every behemoth is surge immune and not every LZ stage will have behemoths (just like not every UL stage has relics). phono is the new kid on the block, and as his meta develops, he might become the best uber in the game, but as for now, he's like third best? maybe? behind dasli and balrog

tl;dr: dasli > phono bc phono lacks immunities, has a weird multi-hit and odd LD, and dasli has better dps in like every situation (except when she gets outranged but c'mon 400 range is crazy)

ponos is a small company. they got like 150 people in that bitch it's weirdly indie for how big the game is

historically balance patches have been rare as fuck. abaha getting multihit, balrog getting weaken immune, gstrange getting nerfed, were all YEARS ago. most recent change i can think of would be green stone desert IV getting nerfed and that wasn't even that relevant of a change tbh

the question doesn't specify that anything else in the game will change and assuming ponos will fix something because something else in their game made it different from original vision is generally false, they added octo and every SoL wave stage instantly became free

there are other behemoth units just cuz it's harder to balance out courier doesn't mean ponos would automatically think "now that courier's gone we need to nerf those things" they would go "add another behemoth true form uber or smthn go do that" we have non-courier powercreep now

so we know that kunio good because he starts you with a good level combo, what does that make Atantis Logistix? Cat transport is the same thing, and 9 times out of 10 courier is on your team anyway. In most scenarios they both take up but one slot. iis Logistixas good?

(gonna note that i refer to Mighty Aethur Ltd., Atlantis Logistix, and Ultra Atlantis Logistix all as aethur because it's just easier to say. i'm referencing the true form when i say aethur unless specified otherwise)

first off, you gotta understand that aethur is actually a really strong unit regardless of combo.

despite being an iron legion, it's a 2010 cost 51.2 second cooldown unit with 30% dodge and 100% survive. this thing has crazy mobility, not just for an iron legion, but for an uber in general.

backwards omni is something that can only work vs zombies, and that niche actually becomes half decent. as one of the only non-LR units with insane damage, it has a crazy *121500* damage per hit vs zombies, and *20250* damage per second. this will melt down any zombie it outranges. its attack cycle isn't bad, and it has effectively four knockbacks with guaranteed survive to keep dishing out damage. it's a pretty straightforward unit with no real gimmicks or anything, it's just strong.

so how good is the combo? short answer: busted. long answer: pretty damn busted.

while you will obviously be bringing courier more often than aethur, aethur works against a trait that courier tends to not see much play vs, and you can add courier in the first row to get a worker cat boost on zombie stages, which are notoriously low on cash. obviously, bringing aethur on stages where you're bringing courier already provides those same extra two levels, and it's just as consistently viable.

while i wouldn't say you're bringing courier "9 times out of 10", it's pretty often a viable choice, and the only real issue is that sometimes you lack the extra slot. kunio is more consistently useful given that you can throw it in for one slot whether you'd already be using aethur or courier or not, but cat transport is a crazy combo and is one of the best dojo combos in the game. very strong unit, very strong combo.
