THE ORC PANTHEON

Kikki Jikki the World Flame Domains: fire, war, strength, blood rage Favored Weapon: machete Worshippers: chieftains Frequent allies: mofuba Frequent enemies: ummammu the most powerful and fearsome of the orcish gods, kikki jikki is depicted as a orc with the head of a cobra. the father of all orcs, kikki jikki is held above all other gods in the orcish pantheon. while worshipped by all orcs, the only orcs allowed become totem shamans of kikki jikki are the chieftains of each tribe. the father of orcs appears in many major myths, and is shown to be feared by all gods other then his wife mofuba. his power dwarfs that of djellibah, and his rage is greater then that of shakka. despite this kikki jikki respects the strengths of his fellow gods, and often asks for their assistance in conflicts. however, many orcish tales make note that this is merely an attempt to make the other gods feel useful, and not done out of actual necessity. some orc tribes, however, hold mofuba above kikki jikki, as she is the only god which the world flame will listen to and frequently acts as his advisor. an even smaller number of tribes portray joohoodoo as stronger, as his domain is one that even kikki jikki cannot enter.
Mofuba the Wolf Mother Domains: birth, life, hunting for survival Favored Weapon: war axe Worshippers: midwives, mothers Frequent allies: kikki jikki, zolduma Frequent enemies: vadras, ummammu the mother of all orcs, mofuba is depicted as a pregnant woman bearing a wolfs head. the wife of kikki jikki, mofuba is highly regarded among orcs as one of the most revered of all the gods, second only to kikki jikki. some tribes even place her above kikki jikki in terms of importance, and while such practices aren't common, they are also not looked down upon by other tribes. to worship mofuba is to give thanks for life and strength. while gods may conflict with the wolf mother, no minor myth portrays any orc forsaking the god of birth. mofuba is said to be the kindest and most tolerant of all gods, even more so then volduma and djelliba. her peace is often what keeps kikki jikki from losing his temper and causing a third awakening.
Joohoodoo the Untouchable Domains: death, souls, voodoo, the pit Favored Weapon: cane or short staff Worshippers: witch doctors, morticians Frequent allies: none Frequent enemies: none bearing the head of a crocodile, joohoodoo stands out among the other orcish gods due to the nature of his realm, the pit. all other orcish gods are said to dwell on sha’rodan capable of hiding from mortals with ease. and while each god has a favored location on the island, they still dwell within the mortal world. not so for joohoodoo, who exists in a realm called the pit. said to be full of the souls of the departed, the pit is the orcish equivalent of the afterlife. in the pit joohoodoo leads an eternal song, sung by every soul. this song is said to bring peace to those who have perished. when orc witch doctors seek to resurrect the dead they attune themselves to the pit, and sing along with the dead in order to animate the corpse. such animation is not seen as an act of desecration however, but a blessing by joohoodoo, his gift to the living to whom he cannot reach. as he is contained within the pit, joohoodoo does not interact with the other gods physically, instead speaking to them in dreams. yet such communications are rare. instead most stories involving joohoodoo have hime communing with orcs in minor myths to teach them necromancy or allow them to hear the song of a loved one who has since entered the pit.
Zulduma the Great Eye Domains: Sun, healing, divine protection, good fortune, law, justice Favored Weapon: bow and arrow Worshippers: healers Frequent allies: basnu, djellibah, mofuba Frequent enemies: vadras, ummammu depicted as a radiant orc male with the head of a falcon, and a pair of large wings, zulduma is the god that most closely resembles the gods of the non-orcish pantheon. depicted as being the arbiter of disputes among mortals, and protector of the helpless, zulduma may seem out of place in orcish culture to many outsiders. however, at his heart, zulduma is a god rooted in orcish tradition. he is the Orcish equivalent of karma, a god who balances the world, and makes right wrongs that cannot be settled by combat alone. in many legends he aids gods against injustice, which often puts him at odds with the deceitful ummammu. him and vadras are said to be locked in a constant struggle, which results in the day and night. most orcs only pray to zulduma in times of dire need, as his help is seen as a last resort, and to some tribes, a crutch. instead kikki jikki is often called upon for luck and blessings in place of zulduma, as his aid is seen as a blessing of strength and power, not one of luck and coincidence.
Vadras the Bloodhunter Domains: Moon, darkness, blood, disease Favored Weapon: dagger Worshippers: night callers Frequent allies: ummammu Frequent enemies: zolduma, mofuba The only orc god to possess pale white skin, vadras bears a striking resemblance to a leper, all be it one with the head of a bat. often referred to as vadras the despised, he is the god with the fewest specific worshippers among orcs. aside from his totem shamans within each tribe, the only direct worshipers of vadras are night callers. these shamans stay awake from sunset to sunrise, repeating ritualistic prayer deep in the jungles. this practice is believed to draw disease and misfortune away from the tribe by appeasing Vadras. in most stories Vadras revels in punishing mortal beings, leading him to conflict with gods like mofuba and zolduma. while he shares no compassion towards ummammu, he frequently joins forces with it as a means to an end, as ummammu is one of the only gods who actively will ally with the bloodhunter. despite this, vadras is not seen as a villainous being in orcish culture. instead he is a force to be feared and respected, and has been described by many orcish shaman as a necessary force in the world.
Djellibah the Titan Domains: the land, stone, land animals, birds, earthquakes, hunting for sport Favored Weapon: spear Worshippers: druids, beast tamers, horse riders Frequent allies: shakka, mofuba, zolduma Frequent enemies: basnu depicted as a muscular orc with the head of an elephant, djellabah is the largest of the orcish gods, whose power is only trumped by kikki jikki himself. though less often worshipped then many of the orcish gods, djellibah is still quite prevalent in orcish myth. he frequently plays minor roles in aiding other gods, who often desire his immense power. he rarely ever feuds with other gods, being quick to anger but also quick to forgive. his only frequent enemy is basnu, however their dynamic is one of good natured rivalry rather then true conflict. he is easily won over by displays of great strength, and many minor legends tell of hunters winning his fortune by hunting great beasts. while djellabah is the god of beasts, he does not anger at their death, as such death is the nature of life.
Basnu the Tidehunter Domains: Water, fishing, sea creatures, tidal waves Favored weapon: Trident and Net Worshippers: fishermen, whalers, seaside tribes Frequent allies: Zolduma Frequent enemies: Djellibah Depicted as a heavily scarred female orc with the head of a shark, Basnu is one of the least worshiped Orcish gods. Most inland tribes treat her as a minor deity, appearing in very few orcish legends. Seaside tribes, however, place Basnu next to Kikki Jikki and Mofuba in terms of importance. The majority of legends containing Basnu come from seaside tribes and revolve around her taming and hunting various sea beasts. I'm such stories she's depicted as a stoic hero, capable of calm tactical thinking until rage is needed. When faced with a combat situation Basnu attacks with a rage comparable to Kikki Jikki himself. While rarely conflicting with other gods Basnu occasionally engages in wagers with Djellibah, pitting her beasts or her own hunting skills against his.
Shakka the Berserker Domains: plantlife, savagery, chaos, exploration, wanderlust Favored Weapon: bola Worshippers: nomads, explorers, druids Frequent allies: djellibah Frequent enemies: none The smaller of the orcish gods, shakka is depicted as a shorter orc with the head of a baboon, who frequently stands with a hunch. like djellibah and basnu, shakka is a lesser worshipped god, yet he appears in less major myths then the other two. instead most stories involving shakka are minor myths, ones that vary from tribe to tribe and revolve mainly around orcs interacting with gods rather then the gods interacting with one another. shakka is portrayed as violent and erratic, quick to strike any he sees as a threat or a nuisance. because of this most gods leave him to his own devices, seeking other allies instead. in return, shakka keeps to himself, exploring sha’rodan as he sees fit. the only god frequently allied with shakkais djellibah, as the two share a love of nature. in many stories djellibah calms shakka’s rage, if only for a moment, and the two share in stories of the great beasts they've seen and fought. when orcs are seized with the desire to travel and explore new land they are said to be “gripped in shakka’s maw”.
Zharkir the Tempest Domains: storms, prophecy, psychedelics, wisdom Favored Weapon: staff Worshippers: oracles Frequent allies: none Frequent enemies: none depicted as a orc with the head of a storm lizard, zharkir stands as one of the two most neutral of the gods, along side joohoodoo. zharkir readily allies with all who ask him, but only provides insight and advice. he acts as the patron of all those who seek to divine the future, and is connected heavily to the orcish tradition of spirit walking. spirit walking is the practice of ingesting a powder made from storm lizard scales, and diving deep into the ensuing hallucinogenic trance. orcish oracles believe these hallucinations to be a glimpse of the future or, in some cases, the past. the totem shamans of zharkir are often older then the other totem shaman, as the god is strongly tied to wisdom and worldliness.
Ummammu the Trickster Domains: Trickery, revelry, shapeshifting Favored Weapon: boomerang Worshippers: bards Frequent allies: vadras Frequent enemies: zolduma, kikki jikki, mofuba the only god in the orcish pantheon to be depicted as both male and female, ummammu bears the head of a hyena. while often given a villainous role in major myths, allying itself with vadras in many myths, ummammu is loved by many orcs. in minor myths it is the god most human in nature, often challenging great opponents despite disadvantage and coming out on top through cunning and wit. ummammu is often shown as a humorous figure as well, and many totem shaman, when portraying ummammu, perform wild dances and acts of slapstick comedy during celebrations. it is said that during great orcish parties ummammu’s shadow can be seen dancing along the ground around the fire. despite the love shown towards the trickster, he is also connected to one of the most important orcish myths, in which he is a major villain. smitten with mofuba, ummammu changed shape into kikki jikki in order to lay with her. the children mofuba bore from this liaison where known as the damned, a race of massive malformed giants who wandered the land. when kikki jikki learned of ummammu’s treachery his rage spread through sha’rodan, igniting mt. kikki jikki and sending all orcs into a blood rage. in their rage the orcs slaughtered the damned, and were rewarded with a ever burning rage that could save them in dire times. this event is known as the first great awakening.

Crates can be opened completely for free, no keys in game.
So, not only is Overwatch $40 on PC and $60 on console, it will have the full F2P “crates crates crates” shit, making people buy keys to unlock (gamble) for neat stuff.
Ug. Good thing I had zero interest in the game to begin with.

Paizo, You're Just The Best!
So a little while ago I made a post about coming out as Transgender, and the issues that came with that regarding my family and my friends. Wes Schneider (I’m a tumblr noob and have no idea how to make that into a link to his tumblr), of Paizo Publishing sent me a message, and asked if he and his people could send some swag to make a hard time easier. Well. It arrived.

That gesture in itself was amazing, but inside the cover of the Inner Sea Gods hardcover was this.

Annnnd! On the inside cover of Chronicle of the Righteous was this.

From Wes himself!~ And I’ll even show you the pages he marked off as things that might be of particular interest to me. One of the Empyreal Lords in Chronicles of the Righteous called “Arshea”

Who embodies both and neither gender, and “Worshipers believe that one’s gender and role in society are not tied to one’s physical form.” The second marked page was in “The Worldwound Incursion” and it was for a character named “Anevia Tirabade"

Who’s very opening line is "Born a man and originally named Anvenn”. A deep, and.. just, I don’t really know how to put into words, amazing thank you to Wes and to Paizo. Not only did they think of me, and send me these awesome things! But personal thought was put into every little gesture. It.. Yeah, I don’t know how to express how grateful I am for just a kind gesture in a difficult time for me. It wasn’t something that HAD to be done, it was something they chose to do. As an absolute fan of their work in general, I can’t begin to explain what it means. Thank you Wes, and thank you Paizo.
