Lovely 1965 mid-century modern, renovated home on Bainbridge Island, WA. 4bds, 2ba, 2.5ba, 2,470sq ft, $1.498m.

It's so pretty, and you can actually sleep or sit in the window.

I don't think that it looks like the typical mid-century modern home- it's classy.

What a gourmet kitchen. This is lovely, but I wouldn't want to maintain wood countertops, though.

I like the beams and the corbel embellishments.

Pretty corner to sit in and relax.

The den looks like it's set up for homework.

This may have been a bedroom that's no longer used.

One of the 1/2 baths. This is so nice.

This bedroom has access to the deck, but I'm not sure if it's the primary, b/c it's not very large.

This is beautiful.

I'm surprised that the primary bedroom has no outdoor access, but it has a great view.

It has a cute en-suite.

The basement rec room has a full kitchen.

Plus, a bonus room that could be used as a bedroom.

And, this is a cute little guest suite with a kitchenette, bedroom and bath.

There isn't a pool, but there's a very large koi pond. .25 acre lot.

Night Walk

The all-night convenience store’s empty and no one is behind the counter. You open and shut the glass door a few times causing a bell to go off, but no one appears. You only came to buy a pack of cigarettes, maybe a copy of yesterday’s newspaper— finally you take one and leave thirty-five cents in its place. It is freezing, but it is a good thing to step outside again: you can feel less alone in the night, with lights on here and there between the dark buildings and trees. Your own among them, somewhere. There must be thousands of people in this city who are dying to welcome you into their small bolted rooms, to sit you down and tell you what has happened to their lives. And the night smells like snow. Walking home for a moment you almost believe you could start again. And an intense love rushes to your heart, and hope. It’s unendurable, unendurable.
