11/15/21 I just got back into working out on my own again. I have been training my friends 14 year old son for the past four months. We worked on building muscle and loosing fat. I taught the kid how to workout safely and provided a routine that best fit his needs. We also worked on increasing his speed and mobility. We used a jump rope, speed cones, a parachute and some other equipment that came with a training kit I purchased online. I was able to train the kid so that when he becomes old enough he could workout by himself at any gym he chooses to attend. The most important thing was to teach him why to do certain exercises and what the benefits were. He also learned about the basics of nutrition and food consumption. Lastly he learned the how and why one would workout safely wether by himself or with a partner. Longevity is critical especially for a 14 year old boy training properly and understanding his own mechanics. His dad was also a great help with the training. His dad already had some basic fitness knowledge which he brought to the table. I think I spent most of the time on nutrition and the kid’s mechanics. The kid will be able to go forward with a great deal of knowledge so he can make the right decisions for his nutrition. The kid is at the age where he is becoming more and more independent and has to lookout for himself. The kid is transitioning for high school sports where he is pursuing baseball, track and field and possibly football. We’ll see as time will only tell his path. I am confident I will be reading about this kid’s accomplishments in some high school sports magazine or article. I can’t wait to see how he does. Who knows he’s that type of kid who has been excelling at an early age. He might play Division One baseball or maybe pro someday. Who knows. A big shot out goes to my friend and his kid. I appreciate the opportunity to work with you guys. It was a blast and you guys taught me a great deal as well. I appreciate the opportunity and am truly grateful to help you guys out. 07/25/21 Good workout this afternoon. I’ve been jumping rope more frequently. I broke down and purchased the Crossrope jump rope system. I must say I’m loving the custom handles and the bearing system. The ropes came with a half pound rope and a quarter pound rope. The ropes are easily interchangeable. My jump rope routine is as follows. I jump for 15 minutes. I rotate between another 3oz speed rope I have then switch to the quarter pound rope then to my one pound rope then back to the speed rope. It keeps my heart rate up and it is a really calorie destroyer. Plus; it’s fun! That’s the most important because if it’s not fun why do it? The Crossrope Amazon Affiliate link is below if you want to check it out. https://amzn.to/3mX63Yv Crossrope has a free app which gives you endless options to incorporate your jump rope. They also a paid membership if you desire some extra help. 04/24/21 I picked up the one pound rope again for this afternoon’s workout. My routine is typically doing a couple of push-pull movements then jumping rope for at least ten minutes. This is just my routine below you do not have to follow it. I have just found out what best works for me. I usually wake up around 8 or so, I make breakfast, then meditate for 15 minutes. I clear my head and try to get rid of the bad energy and thoughts and attract more positive energy and positive thoughts. I hit the gym at all hours it just depends on how I feel. I try to keep it sporadic so that I do not get bored with my routine and my workout space and the people who I interact with. I will hit the gym at least three days per week splitting up my workouts into three push/pull two opposite muscle group workouts. I come home and shower and have a post workout shake, smoothie or meal it just depends on how I feel and if I am really hungry or not. After I begin studying to get my real estate license for the state of Arizona. I am learning to speak Spanish. I am practicing public speaking and creative writing. Last I am slowly setting up an affiliate marketing business. I must say it is hard to self teach especially while keeping a rigorous structured routine. I applaud my readers who are self employed and have that entrepreneurial spirit. I must say it is easier for me to keep a strict nutrition and workout plan than it is to run multiple self-employment businesses. My hats are off to you and hopefully some day we can I spire each other to both stay healthy and live with that entrepreneurial drive. Below is me skipping with my one pound rope. I must say that it takes a great deal out of you which is good. It lets me know where my true cardio threshold is. After about 10 minutes rotating between different size ropes you will become exhausted. https://amzn.to/37bGjOP The link above is to my Amazon Affiliate page where you can pick up the rope. Any link you find in my blog will be directly to my Amazon Affiliate account. Hitting the Heavy Bag Again
Back-dated from 04/04/21 I woke up today around 10am. Not bad for a Sunday. I packed my gym bag after relaxing for a big then got to the gym just after 1pm. I had a semi-fasted workout of about 150 calories which included a banana, my pre-workout, some iced tea and water. Perfect timing as the gym was quite desolate. I get to do some circuit training. When it is this empty my whole routine will be one long circuit training routine. Sunday's is usual a full leg workout. Then I it hit my traps then any other body part that I feel could use some extra work. I will double up on either back or arms then flip the rotation for an extra chest or cardio workout the following Sunday. I finished my workout at 3pm, got home and relaxed for a bit again until my meeting at 8pm. I had a post-workout shake which had 50 grams of protein, 2 ounces of unsalted mixed nuts, a protein bar and two zero sugar Gatorades. The dollar store right across the street from my house sells them. They sometimes have the zero sugar Power Aides as well. If you haven't had one already I highly recommend them. I had some ice tea along with two cups of Jasmine rice and about 10 ounces of chicken for dinner. I usually eat 1 gram of protein to one pound of my body weight. The internet says beltwwn .08 grams to 1 gram per 1lb of body weight. I use the 1g/1lb just because it's easier to track. I have been eating on average at a maintenance level for the past 5 years now. I only adjust my meal plan when I am training for a marathon, long day hike or bike ride. I suggest the reader identify their weight loss goals then determine if they require eating at a surplus, deficit, or maintenance level. All-In Update
06/01//21 All-in has not been able to workout for the past few months. I was lucky enough to be eligible for the Inspire implant which my activation date is 06/24. Inspire is a device that replaces the traditional CPAP breathing machine. 06/01//1 All-in has not been able to workout for the past few months. I was lucky enough to be eligible for the Inspire implant which my activation date is 06/24. Inspire is a device that replaces the traditional CPAP breathing machine. I had to get a few preliminary procedures done before hand which is why I have not posted any workouts but after 06/24 I'm back All-In baby. I get asked quite often how do I have sleep apnea being that I am in shape and maintain a healthy body weight. Many overweight people have sleep apnea because the extra weight and tissue they carry around collapse the airway which causes obstruction. Many if not all who loose the excess weight will rid of their apnea but for me it's different. My my airway has obstruction because of its physical make up and design. It is not easy to maintain a healthy body weight with so much food being processed these days and our fast pace lifestyles who has time to fix anything from scratch and who has the money to eat healthy? And oh ya; Covid. Covid causes me to gain weight right? That's the common question and rant that you will read on the internet. All-In calls bullshit on that answer. I have been maintaining my weight of 170lbs for 6+ years. I have to pay attention to foods higher in protein to keep me fuller longer. I shop on the outside of the grocery isles. In addition I follow flexible eating plans and rotate intermittent fasting. I stay relatively active even during a pandemic. I also work on a healthy relationship with food. There are many things a person can do to manage their weight and live an active lifestyle. Sure there are mobility and other issues that play a factor but that's for another blog down the road. Back To Skipping
Backdated from 03/01/21 Skipping again. I am skipping for at least 10 minutes a day so that I can rapidly improve my skills. Also, I want to improve my endurance. My goal would be to skip nonstop to ‘Humble’ by Kendrick Lamar. Anything is doable if you make a decision then put your mind to it. Have a relentless desire, faith then put into action that it is that you want to accomplish. Until…

How Heavy Is That Rope?
How Heavy Is That Rope?
HOW HEAVY IS THAT ROPE? Posted on April 5, 2021by allin321 04/04/21 I did some boxing, upper and lower chest and a leg workout today. I warmed up with my speed rope then switched it up to my heavy rope. I hit the weights, did some cardio, skipped a little rope then hit the heavy bag. I did upper and lower dumbbell chest presses, leg extensions and calf raises. Crunch finally just installed a…

Skipping Again
04/03/21 I started skipping rope again. I had to let my left calf muscle heal completely before I could pick up my rope again. 04/03/21 I started skipping rope again. I had to let my left calf muscle heal completely before I could pick up my rope again. I like skipping with this speed rope as it’s light but heavy enough to get some feedback on where the rope is at to time my jumps. I switch between the rope in the video and a 1lb rope I picked up a few weeks back. It takes some effort to get in your rotations especially for this newbie who has only been skipping for a few weeks consistently. I try to get in at least 5 minutes a day with the speed rope. Depending how I feel I’ll incorporate the heavy rope as well. I use the heavy rope when I box which is at least once per week. The heavy rope really gives me a upper body workout as I mentioned in a previous blog. The heavy rope has definitely improved my shoulder and arm strength. This soon to be 47 year old is not breaking any records for the least part but is challenging enough for me to continue to push myself as I progress in my health and fitness journey. As I mentioned before my health and fitness has become a part of me. 02/28/21 I have still been hitting the gym four days a week just haven’t been posting. My last post was 02/08/21. I actually had to go look on my FB page to see when the last post was. I bought a few different jump ropes so I could get some diversity. I bought a speed rope and a 1 LB jump rope. Oh man the heavy rope is a beast. I used a heavy rope in High School which helped with my conditioning and coordination playing basketball. I found the rope off of Amazon. I follow a few YouTube channels geared towards skipping rope as they call it. After about 5 minutes I am wiped out. My arm’s, shoulders and core are on fire. I can only get the rope around probably 20 times (which is my best so far) before I either trip up or stop from exhaustion. I also bought some new 12 ounce boxing gloves made by Fila. I found them by accident. I was doing a few errands and went into Ross Dpt. Store to look for a new paper towel holder for my kitchen. I knew my current gym bag is on its way out so I began looking for a replacement a few weeks earlier. I went into Ross and there they were. The gloves were sealed and zip tied for security and did not have the size on the package only the weight so I couldn’t try them on. I bought them knowing I could take them back if they did not fit. Right next to them near all the fitness equipment was my new gym bag. I scored with new boxing gloves and a gym bag but no towel rack. I am new to boxing, skipping rope and am still only about five years in to hitting the weights using a serious regiment. I don’t have an established routine for boxing and skipping rope I just do it because it’s fun, I feel good after and they boost my confidence especially boxing. To all my readers I challenge you to try something new this year that is health and fitness related then post your experiences. I love to see others challenge themselves and to do something that they never thought they could. It also inspires me to continue stepping out of my comfort zone which is when I grow.
