old-ish art but in light of the Canto VIII trailer coming out I have decided to share my Wang Xifeng design in hopes that she shows up. like at all. in the Canto itself

I had originally designed her with a modernized qizhuang back in Canto VII when the only other Jia family design we had was Xichun. but after the sweeper intervallo I made the unilateral executive decision that if they’re going to flip flop between time periods for the designs anyway then I should just be allowed indulge myself a little and just choose my favorite dynasty, so I went with Tang/Wu Zhou inspired instead of Qing

I’ve felt vindicated by every Canto VIII crumb we’ve gotten ever since I drew this in like March because they’re going further away from the modern look they gave to Xichun so I don’t feel like this design is that much of a long shot anymore. although mind you it’s coming from someone who hasn’t read the book and only had the time to watch 12 episodes of the 2010 cdrama
