The buckle is in the mail, but I do believe it’s otherwise done. 👌
I’d originally made four belt pouches – two matching small ones, a larger one, and then the weird one with two flaps over one pocket – but it turns out the Fenris-got-laid badge replaces one of the small pouches, so you only need three. If I ever offered the set for sale in my shop I’d give customers the option of four bags or three plus badge – though really, who likes Fenris enough to cosplay him and didn’t tap that?

“You’ll–kill me? Evidently there will be a line.”
Going through photos from Fan Expo Toronto just reminds me what an amazing trip it was. I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to go, not just for the Masters of Cosplay but for the chance to meet new people, explore a new city, and get some amazing photos. :D

My Caduceus cosplay is finally ready for MCM London! I gotta to tweak one or two things with the makeup (mainly the beard and wig) but I’m so excited.
See you all in two weeks < 3

Canadian Cosplayer is Mistaken for Terrorist

The Cosplayer was wearing a gas mask, helmet, armour and bullet belt. He was also carrying a New Republic of California flag. People thought he had a bomb strapped to his back but it turned out to be several Pringles cans painted silver.

Police were hiding in bushes and behind their cars with long guns drawn. Happened in Grande Prairie, Alberta. (April 14, 2017)

LOVE the Hellboy movies. In June, I had the opportunity to meet Doug Jones, Selma Blair and Ron Perlman, and decided to finally do this costume on my list. The costume is almost all EVA foam. There is a little appoxie sculpt on the headpiece and chest for depth. The wings are PVC pipe, wrapped with couch foam and fabric. Feathers are Fabric/wire and everything is hand painted. I’ve taken it to two conventions now, and the response has been amazing, if not overwhelming. It’s been a LOT of fun. When I’m posing for photos, I try to hold very still – this seems to make some people believe I am just a statue. When I move toward them, they “NOPE NOPE NOPE” and run away. It’s been hilarious. Cosplay has allows me to open up and connect with other fans. I only Cosplay things I really love, and it’s great making new friends through cosplay. Thanks to everyone who has been so great! It online reactions have been great and the positive comments have given me the drive to do bigger and better things! — Battlecat Cosplay Photo : https://www.instagram.com/dustin.cardwell/

First off, I am blown away by the amount of love I received for my Jester costume!!! She was amazing to make, so much fun to wear, and all around an incredible experience from start to finish!! I have a bad habit of getting sucked into details but I think it worked in my favor this time around! There were so many little things about Jester’s outfit I wanted to get just right, and fussing over them was honestly half the fun.
The beautiful photos taken of the completed costume were done by a dear friend of mine @ivorivet, who isn’t just a fantastic photographer, but also an amazingly beautiful talented cosplayer in her own right!! I can’t thank her enough for doing my solo shoot and I love her to bits 💖💖💖
Other helping hands are credited to @dontevenlikecoconut, @centeris2, and @artofnana, who all did little tasks on other costumes so I could focus on Jester, or drove me up packages from home so I didn’t lose my mind the night before con. 💙💙💙
I did something a little different this time around with my WIPs! If you follow me on instagram (pearlybaecosplay) then you would have seen the hell crunch that was on my insta stories all month!! If you missed it, no worries!! I saved all my Jester WIPs onto a collection on my insta profile, if people were interested in seeing extra details and some video progress.
One last thing before I let y'all go; my ko-fi is still active!! So if you like my work and appreciate these big costume writeups, please consider donating a coffee or two!! The link is available on my blog, or you can type in pearlybae at the site and find me that way!
As per usual, more details of how I made this costume are under the cut!! 🍭

Nakia - Black Panther (ECCC)
It took two and a half months, lots of sleepless nights (including one in the con hotel), and some last minute alterations but Nakia (v1) made it to ECCC. I have a bit left to do before she’s done (the beadwork is actually puff paint - yay improvising). So taking a break on this project to work on stuff for Sakuracon and then I plan to finish my beading and some additional detail work before I take her to Rose City in September.
