what a crazy negotiator. i'm not sure that his interests were in actually selling his work. perhaps he was more compelled in the dialogue it created.

i found this in the book, for the blind man in a dark room looking for a black cat that isn't there. it fit perfectly with the conversation i had earlier in the day discussing the beauty of accepting not knowing.
enjoy this lovely thought.

we feel how we are pressed into the chair we are sitting on. we feel the shopping bags pulling on our arms. And we know that what is doing the pulling is the earth. the whole earth. when we jump it pulls us back immediately...
...it's a bit like a bowling ball laid upon a mattress. the ball pushes into the mattress, creating a dent. If you try to roll a marble just past the bowling ball you'll find that because of the curve of the mattress the marble does not go in a straight line, but deviates in the direction of the ball. it is pulled away from its straight path.
gravity is a deformation of the matter that constitutes the universe as a whole, a deformation of space and time. In itself this deformation is too subtle to be perceived directly. But it is clearly present in the natural tendency of everything around us to fall and to be weighable.
-excerpts from an article, to fall is to understand the universe

The performance of MASTER BUILDER similarly extended to the physical reconstruction of the ‘house’ itself: to the interruption, opening and reconfiguration of the building, even to the splitting of the entire building in half, as well as to the creation of an architectural installation to be exhibited in its own right between performances
Piece based on Gordon Matta-Clark's architectural work.

So when you first walk in, what you see is kind of haphazard storage space. But as you approached this you could start to smell, the jasmine rice. That kind of draws you through to the office space. And in this place I made two pots of curries, green curries. One was made how Thai restaurants in New York were making it. To counter that, on the other pot was a authentically made Thai curry. I was working on the idea of food, but in a kind of anthropological and archeological way. It was a lot about, the layers of, taste and, otherness...

When thinking about the necessities of bodily function, the focus is primarily on the kitchen and the bathroom. These two rooms feature many of the same fixtures but attend to opposite aspects of the same process. The Body Processing Unit conveniently integrates these functions into a single integrated system. The intake functions are on the top, and the outtake functions are on the bottom. It provides security by making sure that the body of the owner/user is attended to, and is portable enough to travel to any situation necessary.
