Summary: Oneshot for Squall and Cloud’s imperfect Disneyland dinner.

Squall and Cloud were standing in the lobby of the Blue Bayou restaurant in Disneyland, employees cycling through the booking list, unable to find the Leonhart reservation. Squall felt awful, wanting to make his and Cloud’s first visit to the iconic theme park special, but it was spoiled by a thoughtless employee. Nothing was going right today, with a storm coming down on the park for an hour, causing parades to be cancelled and rides to shut down. He sighed, nudging Cloud’s fingers.

The blonde looked up at his boyfriend and gave a meek smile, placing a hand on his knee and patting it. “Guess we won’t be eating fancy tonight.”

“No, guess not.”

“Hm, that’s okay,” Cloud hummed, sensing the brunet’s disappointment. “I can settle for cart food outside.”

“Yeah, but it’s not the same. I just wanted this to be special.” Squall’s lips jutted out in a pout.

“It’s special if it’s with you,” Cloud replied, nuzzling his nose in Squall’s neck. He felt the skin heat up and blush under his face, and he placed a small kiss there.

Squall smiled, “what did I do to deserve you?”

Cloud hummed again and rested farther into Squall’s shoulder just as an employee approached. She looked lively, with a token Disneyland smile on her face, and gestured to them warmly.

“Hello, gentlemen. On behalf of the Blue Bayou, I apologize for the mixup. We confirmed that you did call to book, but it never made it on the list, and that is our fault. So, to make it up, we’d like to provide you passes for tonight's showing of Fantasmic! We’ll provide you cards for our area, allow you to be seated first, and will provide dessert samplers for you to enjoy.”

Squall felt a smile burst across his face and looked at the one that bloomed on Cloud’s. They thanked her as she handed them the cards, and led them outside towards the seating area. Many were lined up in the queue and the lovers felt all eyes on them as they crossed the ropes, getting the front-row table. They two sat across from each other, looking out across the man made Rivers of America in the dusty twilight.

As the time came, other patrons sat themselves in the surrounding tables and waiters came by, pouring wine and serving desserts before the show. The area was filled with people from all walks of life, everyone’s eyes filled with wonder and delight as the introduction music poured out from the loudspeakers. Squall sat in amazement and gazed at Cloud who was happily shoving a forkful of cheesecake in his mouth.

“I guess it did work out, huh?” Squall said dreamily, reaching his hand out to cup the blond’s cheek. “Glad the Fairy Godmother answered our wishes.”

Cloud nuzzled into the hand and laid a kiss on the heel. “Are you always going to be this sweet on me, Leonhart?”

Squall snorted, “only if you’re good.”

I’m a little late but oh well（//･_･//)

I haven’t been on top of my game recently but I noticed it was the last Strifehart Sunday of the year, so I whipped this up to celebrate!!

this year has been very very hard for me from the beginning, but since I’ve made this tumblr it’s been a nice place for me to make friends and share good times with them~ you’re all very special to me

I even found my niche in the lovely Strifehart community, and made many great friends! I wanna thank you all for your kindness and love, and making me laugh and cry over your guys’ work. (｡’▽’｡)♡

I also want to personally thank some of the Strifehart family members, as these are people I’ve bonded with and have had great conversations with!

@leonhartleon - you were the first friend I’ve made on this tumblr, and you have been so helpful with my art, especially when I was frustrated with Cloud’s hair. we’ve also shared a lot of funny conversations and jokes, and I wanna thank you for making me smile lots and lots! #papabless

@out-of-character217 - you mother me, oh jeez. you are the sweetest soul on this site, always supporting all of us, and sharing kind words! your writing is so beautiful, so much so I’ve taken study hall time just to read your stories. thank you for taking care of all of us and being such a sweetheart!

@chocoomba - to be honest, I didn’t even know Strifehart was an actual ship til I found your blog, aha. you are such an amazing artist, and I appreciate all the effort you put into Strifehart Sunday! I look up to you a lot, and I thank you for being such a ray of sunshine! you fill me with determination~ 

@liverpeps - Jay, you are such a lovely little dewdrop! you are so encouraging to smaller blogs and every time I see one of your posts on my dash, I smile. I’m also amazed at how you keep three blogs running at the same time, holy moly, I don’t know how you do it!! you’re also a key player that turned Strifehart from a little raft to a clipper ship, ready to sail over deep waters! thank you for all your positivity!

@grievercloud - Vic, you’re such an awesome writer and I’m still so amazed at how you craft stories. I know that you’ve also been having a lot of weird times too, so I’m glad we can come together and put our feelings into better creations. thank you for giving me the opportunity to work with you and become your friend in the process!
