My own take on Primarina since i don’t really like the original design.

One of the problems in the games is that the story never explained how Leon and Sonia had a strained relationship, and why Sonia left the gym challege.

Sonia never hated Leon, it's just the pressure of the gyms and the rumors is what took the fun out of battling for Sonia.

Pokespe manages to fix the plot hole of Sonia and Leon's relationship. Pretty realistic of Kusaka to write in how toxic sports fans could be. It adds a lot of stakes on why so many people take the gym challenge so seriously, and why winning is such a big deal for them.

Has anyone else realized that Commander Kamado has the exact same armor as Kalos’s elite four member Wikstrom?

Its the exact same, just color swapped which can mean one of two things.

1. Not only is he the ancestor of good ol professor Rowan, but Wikstrom as well. (Family gatherings must be fun with those two!)

And/Or

2. The 3,000 year old war mentioned in xyz (aka gen 6) in taking place in Kalos 3,000 years before the events of the games is most likely where he and his people fled from. And considering that this is explicitly stated to be knights armor by wikstrom, I think its highly likely that Kamado is escaping the devastation in Kalos that causes the creation of this giant graveyard.

Route 10, with each stone shown representing a pokemon lost to the old war. (Which at that point in time was 3,000 years old, and could feasibly be around the same time as Legends.)

Knowing this, and knowing galars “darkest day” most likely has a link to the great devastation shown in AZ’s stories, it suddenly makes a lot more sense why Kamado was so quick to put us to work to fixing the rift (PTSD from the last time a rift in the sky occurred and killed many) and was so quick to turn on us.

His fear of the rift, and seeing it get worse after we ‘fixed’ everything? Not to mention us coming out of the rift, when all he can remember is the war that took everything from him?

I can only imagine the terror he must have felt.

((which most likely reminded him of the final fight (we have no clue if he witnessed this, but it can be assumed due to he and his people searching for somewhere “safe”.))
