People on twitter have been saying this website is extremely white and tbh its making me very curious what the demographics of this site are (of my own reach anyway) so
DISCLAIMER: Race is a non scientific concept with no exact definitions. It is a social construct primarily characterized by how society treats you and thus this is an imperfect poll. If you feel none of the options here reflect you and your experience I implore you to reblog this with your experience as I am curious about that and want to hear about it.

Hi I know I don't have many followers, but if this reaches literally one (1) mutual, I will be happy it did nonetheless.
If you use Google and are sick and tired of the "AI overviews" and AI images showing up every time you look up literally anything, please download the Pre-AI Search extension that filters out all that shit. It takes two second and you will be glad you did it.
Anyways that's it

The way Gemma and Helly are eternally entwined. The way the man Helly is in love with wouldn't exists if Gemma hadn't died. The way Gemma would have died on the testing floor if Helly hadn't rebelled and hadn't radicalized Mark S.

can we talk about the incest aspect of Jame and Helena Eagan’s relationship already? Helena forced to metaphorically conceive and birth a “child” that is Helly R at the behest of her father. Helena acting as a “mother” that coddles and smothers her and lives vicariously through her because Jame controls every part of her life. Jame as her actual biological father and acting as the overarching hand of patriarchal paternal dominance. Jame investing all his aspirations for the cult and company by making Helena sacrifice pieces of her body and mind. The fact Jame has access to the severed floor coupled with how the birthing cabins are used for his “mistresses”, basically confirming he either gets severed women pregnant or severs the women he gets pregnant, implying his complete disregard for their bodily autonomy. “I wish you’d take them raw”.

helly showed up down the hallway because she wanted one last look at him. she wasn’t asking him to stay. she’s been the one trying to convince him leave.
helly said that maybe his outie wasn’t lying and that mark might have a real chance at living on the outside. helly reminded him she was an eagan when he said he wanted to live with her. helly convinced him to finish cold harbor when mark said he could just leave it undone and leave gemma trapped below.
she locked milchick in the bathroom and instigated an entire coup to give him time to save gemma.
all she wanted was one last look at the man who gave her life meaning.

obsessed with the Helena and Irving parallel and what it says about the aspects of our identity we think are fundamental (but aren't)...
Like Outie Irving assumes his Innie is just as radically anti-Lumon as he is. He assumes his hatred of Lumon is something ingrained in his personality! That's why he stays up at night drinking coffee and making paintings, because he hopes that when his innie dreams about the testing floor, he'll say "okay bet" and start exploring. That's what Outie Irving would do, after all. But he miscalculated! His hatred of Lumon isn't inherent--- his desire for meaning and art and spirituality is inherent. That's what his hatred for Lumon is built on. But in a world where there's no meaning outside of Lumon propaganda, of COURSE his innie would become ridiculously devoted to the company.
And Helena!! She is the corporation, that's her whole identity. She presumably assumed that Helly would be just as pro-Lumon as she is. But she miscalculated too! Her devotion to the company isn't inherent, her headstrong and entitled nature is what's inherent! And in a world where she's denied any agency whatsoever, that manifests as rebellion.
It's the same dynamic flipped on its head. They both sent their innies in there with opposite intentions--- one to take down the company, one feed the company's expansion--- only to realize that rebellion and devotion aren't inherent characteristics. Their innies have become the exact opposite of their outie selves, while still being exactly the same!! Because even though your personality is inherent, the values you hold are determined circumstantially. OUGH IT'S SO GOOD.

I'm not angry at Mark S for his actions in the finale. Im angry at outie Mark for asking Mark S to kill himself, while not really considering him as a person.
That may be due to a personal biais towards Mark S and against Mark Scout. If you prefer Mark Scout as a character I understand that you are angry Mark Scout doesn't get to live his perfect life, with Gemma and innie-les.
Personally, I think Mark S is a person, and thus deserves to live.
#severance#severance spoilers#apparently people are angry at mark s finale decision#i can understand why intellectually if you really like Mark Scout#but mark scout going with gemma means mark s death so its a no for me

I'm gonna be brutally honest here, but MarkS is a puppy I would kill for, while Mark Scout is someone I empathize with on a intellectual level.

The “mad scientist” trope is becoming a lost art, kudos to severance for embracing it so gloriously. She shows up, she kills people, she (probably) stalks you, she steals your snacks and moves into your basement, she’ll do experimental brain surgery any time any place. And she’s kind of adorable. God bless.

wondering about the audition process to cast emile the goat. did they get the goat with the biggest wettest eyes. did they get the goat who could bleat the sweetest and saddest. the goat who could stand the cutest. the goat who could look into the gun the most innocently. did the goats called back have to do a chemistry test with gwendoline christie. many such questions. anyway that little goat has such a promising career ahead. what a performance.
#that goat was acting so perfectly I wondered if it was cgi#like the way emile put his little head down centimeters to the gun#im so glad emile survived

Are you an American? Do you love our nation's national parks, our libraries, affordable health care, and essential checks and balances? DO YOU NOT WANT TO GO TO WAR WITH CANADA?
Fuck, are you just a European and you're highly emotionally invested in what's going on?
Well good news, help spread the news. Special elections April 1st and this is going to help break down the narrow majority Republicans hold on Congress.
Florida has two congressional seats up for election April 1st, and Wisconsin has a highly televised race for their supreme court Court that Elon Musk has invested millions into.
If you're Floridian, check to see if you're eligible to vote in either of the elections listed here.
If you're a Wisconsinite, for some ungodly reasons about half of your election information is buried in Google and hidden amongst government websites but, find your polling place now.
