[2025-07-30] The HeadStone that sits on the moors overlooking the A57 in Sheffield. A great walk in the sunshine from Wyming Brook, throght the woods and moors to reach the Head Stone. The way back is over to Redmires reservoir, and around the reservoir. Surprising how empty these reservoirs are now.

[2025-07-21] View of Win Hill from the forest, on the way down. The day started well, a nice warm sunny morning but rain just as I finished the walk. The view from the top of Win Hill never fails to impress. This could be why even on this Monday morning, there were still a number of people out on the hill.

[2025-07-14] This is Stanage High Neb Trig Point and the view north. Walked up from Redmires Reservoir via Oaken Clough, down the edge and back to Redmires. I picked a cloud and windy day in the midst of a heat wave; but the sun started to heat the day up after 11. Great views along Stanage Edge as usual.

[2025-07-07] A cloudy day that improved as the sun came out. A walk up Derwent Edge from Ladybower Reservoir. This is a great edge with some interesting rocks. The image is of Back Tor with the trig point on top of the rocks.

[2025-06-26] Not a promising day but actually the sun came out in interval. Once at the top of Bamford Edge the views were as spectacular as ever. It is not surprising how busy this. It looked that there were more "tracks" over the moor which are likely created by the estate in pursuit of managing the moor. Not complaining, as these do give better tracks fo us walkers.

[2025-06-23] Not a great day, more like autumn than early summer. But a great walk over 4 edges. Started over Froggatt Edge, then onto Curbar and Baslow before the climb up to White Edge. Underfoot the paths were dry, despite the recent rain. Must be the effect of the drying wind. A great walk, maybe my favourite in the Peak District.

[2025-06-02] This is Horse Stone at the top of the Upper Derwent Valley in the Peak District. I walked all the way up the valley from kings Tree. Gained the height up Hoar Clough and Shepherds Meeting Stones. Then south down Howden Edge for a bit until I went over to Horse Stone. Then it was back to Links Tree. Quite windy but the sun shone most of the time. A great walk.

[2025-05-28] This is Nelson's monument at Birchen Edge. For a change parked the car at roadside north of Birchen's Edge. Walked down Gardom's Edge, past the Robin Hood Pub and then up Birchen Edge to the monument and the 'Three Ships' rock formation. A lovely late spring day with great views over much of the Peak District

[2025-05-19] Chrome Hill - the Dragon's Back. This is a great walk over the fields of Staffordshire Peak District and climb Chrome Hill. The hill in the front here is PArkhouse Hill which is very loose and very steep [I did not climb it]. But Chrome Hill in the back, I did climb.

[2025-05-08] White Edge sits above Froggatt and Curbar Edges. Walked from the road junction at the north and then up onto the edge and walked along the top to the White Edge trig point. The great advantage of White Edge is the panorama. Sadly not a blue sky day but still great views. A great afternoon walk on the eastern edges of the Peak District.

[2025-04-28] The trig on top of Sir William Hill. The mast opposite can be seen over much of the north east Peak District and so from the trig point there are great views. A great walk up Sir William Hill then over Eyam Moor.

[2025-04-24] Ox Stones above Lady Canning Plantation - a trig point witha good view. A walk through Lady Cannings plantation, through the trees first. Then around the wide tracks with great views over Sheffield. Ox stones stands just up from Lady Cannings Plantation and as you would guess, it has a trig point and so a great view.
