A gun that is moving around carries the risk of improper installation of the muzzle brake, so you will not benefit much from the device. Moreover, the movements can damage your gun’s barrel and make you hurt yourself. Use a rest or vice to steady your rifle when placing a muzzle brake on it.
A basic wrench set
You need a 2-3-inch adjustable wrench set to install a recoil reducing muzzle brake. The wrench set tightens the muzzle device into place. You can also have a torque wrench at hand to accurately time your muzzle brake.
With the above tools in place, you can easily attach your muzzle brake in place. If you need to attach a muzzled device permanently, you can weld, solder, or blind pin it in place. The permanent attachment is often used when making your barrel a specific length for legal purposes.
