I know this is a crossover no one expected but would comparing Nani from Lilo and Stitch to Darry be that far fetched? I mean- they're both a couple of stressed out young adults trying to care for their younger sibling/s who want to make them rip their hair out lol 🤣

But I can imagine them sitting down, giving each other advice and venting. Something about that just heals me :>

Talking about Johnny and Steve being so alike yet so different makes me think Johnny would be able to tell whether or not Steve gets into a scrap with his dad or with someone else

Steve walks in with his knuckles smattered in bruises and dried blood on his and doesn't hesitate to smirk and tell a concerned Soda that it was from a soc but Johnny knew better; knew better in the way that the other boys smirk was half hearted and he seemed sluggish and quiet all night

This might be a little ooc but I can imagine Johnny taking a bottle of disinfectant and a rag out to the porch where he knew Steve would be and sat next to him, not even asking before grabbing his hand and gently dabbing at his knuckles with a dampened rag, light heartedly calling Steve a baby when he would wince. They didn't share any other words but when Johnny's finished he sets the rag and bottle aside before they finish the cigarette that was hanging from Steve's lips together

this is so beautiful oh my gosh—i don’t think it’s out of character at all! johnny can canonically be a bit sassy/short with people, i can see him teasing steve ever so slightly. it’s not like steve hasn’t done the same thing. johnny doesn’t snitch though—that’s the one thing soda can’t immediately snuff out. he can always tell how steve’s feeling, whether he’s tired, hungry, sick, upset, whatever, he can tell the difference between real and fake, but for some reason, he’s perplexed by steve’s lies about his home vs when the socs have actually been after him. johnny is good at telling cause he knows the difference between a cut from a ring, or from a belt buckle. he can tell the difference between a bruise from a hand or from something getting thrown at him. he’s experienced abuse at hone and by the socs too, he knows these injuries like the back of his hand.

Hear me out- Steve and Soda cuddling with their foreheads pressed together. Steve shifts focus between both of Sodas eyes so he can admire both of their pretty colors and Sodapop leaving gentle kisses under Steve's eyes and bringing the other boys hands up to his lips to kiss the freckles there too 🙂‍↕️

sodapop has heterochromia in my heart btw, his right eye is this warm shade of almost amber brown and his other is this piercing blue color.

also steve has freckles under his eyes and on his hands. that’s just canon to me. anyway.

I apply some if not most of my real life experiences to my head canons and I possibly broke my foot last night, unable to be seen till tomorrow. I started worrying a little less because I remembered I have crutches to use until then and that made me think about the gang had to do that as well

Two bit running home to grab his mamas heating pad for anyone with any achy muscles or joints, Johnny grabbing the pair of old and rusted crutches for a foot or knee injury out of the garage until they can get to the doctors and get some better ones. Even something as small as Steve pulling the tweezers out of the Swiss Army knife he keeps in his pocket to retrieve a nasty splinter

Or even Darry calling his neighbors for advice when Pony or Soda would get sick when he first gained guardianship of them, worriedly asking how much medicine they should take or what he could do to make things better for them

Just the small things that bind your friends and neighbors together as a community. I think that's pretty neat ^^

I think people sometimes forget that Johnny is older than Pony. Granted it's only by two years but I feel like those two years would mean a lot to Johnny because not only is Ponyboy his best friend but he also thinks about him as a little brother, and therefore tries to do things a big brother would do for their little brother

Like before he got jumped (and possibly after) if he caught wind of anyone, soc and greaser alike, messing with Ponyboy he would have no problem catching them after school and threatening them because Johnny can be scary when he wants to be and I'll die on that hill. Lord have mercy for no one who takes him seriously because I genuinely believe that if Johnny fights it's scrappy and not fair in the slightest whatsoever 😆 like this boy would use teeth if the odds weren't in his favor

So we know that Johnny has pos parents, right? I dunno how far back this mistreatment goes and if his father was ever in the picture but I can imagine that he didn't get the developmental help ones suppose to get from their parents as far as learning to talk goes, so he was severely stunted when he was little

You could imagine Mrs. Curtis' absolute bewilderment and anger when a nine year old Johnny Cade starts coming around, barely able to talk. So, knowing there wasn't much she could do otherwise, teaches Johnny to sign (I like to think she was a teacher and has had some deaf students before)

Johnny picks up on it rather quickly, and even as he gets older and his speech gets better he still uses it every time he's at the Curtis house, knowing it's a place where he could be understood since everyone has taken up to learning sign for him

How at the Curtis house you don't see the meek, soft spoken boy that everyone else around town does, but somebody bright, animated and full of life as he rants to anyone that'll listen about a book or a movie that's his favorite at the time through sign

I just really think it's sweet and heartwarming to think about Johnny getting his voice back, so to speak :>

On the topic of Bill crocheting, since he really only does so for the movement and doesn't use any of his projects he always makes hats and scarfs and donates them in the cold months 🥲

GASSPPP I just had an epiphany :0 you bet your sweet bippy I'm gonna be writing about thie lol 👀 a drabble of some sort is now in the works 😋

a friendship i don’t see people talk about enough is johnny and steve. they’re only a year apart but they have a lot in common. johnny and steve both love cars, and will sit on top of roofs outside the main road and blow spitballs at mustangs together. they watch the fancy cars speeding down the highway, they do punch buggy (steve goes a bit lighter on johnny, though). they also both come from horrible homes. johnny will take steve to places he knows won’t guard their dumpsters so he won’t go hungry that night, and steve will offer to let johnny sleep in his car on summer nights. steve probably taught johnny how to blow smoke rings, and johnny teaches steve how to get by on cold nights. they hung out at lunch together outside the gas station, smoking and goofing around. steve brought johnny into the do to show him the tuff cars he was working on. he liked seeing that childlike wonder in johnny’s eyes at the sight of a car that wasn’t darry’s truck or his own beat up ford.

don’t forget steve was the first one who broke down after johnny died.

I like to think that Bill crochets when he gets to thinking about his mother, whether he's upset or nostalgic while he does so depends on the day. His mama was the one who taught him, doing so when she seen the way he looked on with awe when she had a ball of yarn in her lap and a crochet hook in her hand

It took a while for Bill to make anything cohesive, never really sure how to hold the hook or maneuver the yarn to make sure his tension was just right. But when he completed his first scarf his mamas smile was just as bright as his as she squeezed him in a hug and praised his work even if his stitches were a little sloppy and loose

Bill keeps all of the crocheting supplies she had left in a shoe box underneath his bed and brings it out when he wakes from a bad dream or can't seem to fall asleep to begin with. He always talks to her about what's troubling him and usually about halfway through a project does his eyes become heavy and he's ready for bed, sometimes even a full one when nights are bad

He only ever pulls it out at night, even if there's days he misses her terribly but doesn't in fear of Ted making fun of him or his dad taking it all away from him. The only other one who knows is Missy because she found the box while cleaning up his room one day, and when she seen that Bills stash of yarn was quickly dwindling she went out and got him more, placing the grocery bag next to the box with a note inside that said "if you want someone to crochet with, come to me. I can teach you some new stitch patterns if you'd like - Missy"

Let's just say that when Bill crocheted that night it was with a smile instead of a frown as he talked to his mom about how awesome Missy was

Like- let's be for real guys. If we can have two kids who's government name is Sodapop Curtis and Ponyboy Curtis then why can't we have a kid who's government name is Curly Shepard?? /lh

Anyone else just think it's actually curly bc tim named him instead of his parents bc his parents didn't gaf but Tim had been hoping for two girls so he had a name for Angela ready but not curly and Tim was three so when he saw curly come out that womb with curly fkn hair he went with it

On the topic of Bill surfing with Ted being absolutely clueless to the topic let me raise you this-

Ted is a fantastic sand castle builder. While he does enjoy ogling Bill when he's out on the water surfing he has to have something else to pass the time, right? While Bill can barely get one tier to stay together Ted can manage to make a three tiered tower with nothing but a metal bucket and a little plastic beach shovel. Sand castles lead to sand sculptures and Ted actually got 2nd in a competition with a life-sized shark he's done

Oooh this just sparked the thought in my mind that instead of Micheal first seeing them on the boardwalk at night he sees them for the first time at the beach 👀

Much like the movie Micheal sees them first (I do believe, don't quote me), but instead of their cool biker swagger it's a whole lot of David arguing with them about applying sunscreen before they go out and surf (because even though they can be in the sun they all still burn and blister easily)

Dwayne, Paul and Marko alike are all hooting and hollering as they run out to the water with their boards, Micheal watching the blonde from his own blanket, trying to figure him out as he watched him read what looked to be a novel under his umbrella

He thought that it was odd that mystery blonde man still had his hair gelled up while wearing his boots, jeans and iconic coat while forgoing any type of shirt underneath. Sure, there was nothing wrong with coming to the beach and not getting in the water but you'd think one would still dress a little more comfortably

It was a little while later that Micheal seen the shortest one of the group walk up to the box blonde with a grimace, Micheal being able to see his lips moving but unable to hear what they were saying to each other but he could tell he was getting scolded if Mr. Blondes sharp movements were anything to go by. It was when he turned around did he see an already sizable blister, about the size of a dollar coin right on the backside of his shoulder

Micheal couldn't see what happened next because Shorty was pulled back so he was closer to Mr. Blonde and the taller one obscured most of the other guy, save for the top of his head, from Michaels view

There was a jerk, then slightly long pause, and when Shorty moved- there seemed to be no blister? Micheals brows furrowed when he seen Shorty smile and place a dramatic kiss to Mr. Blondes cheek after said blonde applied more sunscreen to his back, seemingly laughing when the broody male batted him away. He grabbed his board from where he deposited it in the sand and ran back towards the water, calling out for his other companions to wait for him

Micheal, still puzzled, turned his head back to his magazine. Surely there was a blister on the boys back when he came back up to the beach, right? Micheal wasn't going crazy..was he?

(Haha sorry for assaulting your inbox again it's just that ever since seeing Point Break 1991 I've been throwing all of my muses into some sort of surfing AU. Hope you enjoyed reading it!)

Okay, you can't hide this in my inbox. It deserves to be seen But also yes, this is exactly what I imagine would happen. I also imagine that Michael would just convince himself the heat was making him see things, but even once he is integrated into the group but before he knows about the vamp thing he's super suspicious and constantly side-eyeing everyone hoping he sees something crazy like that again to prove to himself that he's NOT crazy
