okay let me speak about my gems for two seconds. never before seen information about my insane steven universe au that isn’t steven universe at all. i borrowed a LOT of ideas from that damn show.

gems are aliens duh, except they’re not people like in SU, they’re just the gems. like bugs or some shit. they stick to planets’ higher life forms which in this case are humans. (this is all simplified bc i’m crazy)

they don’t speak, they don’t think, but they do feel. they obviously want to reproduce and stay alive for as long as they can, but adrixx, how do they do that while stuck to a higher life form? mama they communicate through neurotransmitters/hormones

once a gem has been placed on a random part of the body, they basically inject themselves into a person’s skin, muscle, and nerves. like one of those stickers that measures blood glucose levels, or one of those parasites that stick on the tongues of fish. the gems are kinda like a tightly packed ball of nerves protected by a strong outer shell (the gem). they open and slowly advance throughout the body.

an infected person can’t speak to it, they can’t telepathically communicate with it either like in that one anime with the weird glob parasites, no. but they can feel with their gem. kinda like how you’re horny but you know that you can’t do anything about it right now, or how you’re hungry but you know you shouldn’t eat that whole cake. it’s like that.

this is really where the steven universe stealing comes in. they give you weapons and abilities, obviously :P

ok so i’m not going to mention every gem and what their weapons and abilities are but i will give an example. also these are not fucking original at all, i just want an outlet for me to spew about these OC’s that i’ve made.

Ruby: placement-shoulders, weapon-swords, abilities-ignite,combust, double shot.

some gems appear on the body more than once, ie: ruby that appears on both shoulders. would this mean that there are two parasites ? no. the way i can best explain it is that it’s almost like two halves of one egg shell (the gem) but still shares one yolk (the nerves)

the process of becoming infected doesn’t hurt but placement of the gem can make things uncomfy. it feels like a big big scab, you get no sensation when you touch your gem.

how do the gems find their hosts ?

i have so many more ideas for this and i have a whole big story planned in my head (i’ve been thinking about this for like 8 years straight) ugh i’ll add more later
