In order to minimize the effects of the COVID 19 virus, washing your hands is one of the most suggested ways to prevent the spread. In this video, a Filipino artist composed a song with a catchy tune, to remind us the proper steps and importance of hand washing. It is a very fun way to use creativity and art to influence others into proper hygiene.

Online Communication
Tumblr media
Art as means of expressing one’s longing for social interaction.
As the pandemic forces almost 2 years of isolation, it is prohibited to go outside and attend mass gatherings to avoid the spread of the virus. We have become familiarized in the online setup of learning where we discuss and view our classmates faces through screens. This particular piece of artwork suggests that a part of our history included the full utilization of our technology to connect with our loved ones. I daresay that this art truly represents our situation and aspiration that art does not stop at a virus, in order to portray what is truly happening around us.

Mask Fashion

Facemasks daring to be mandatory even after the pandemic.
Even before the pandemic, there are people with illnesses and disease ridden symptoms who require facemasks in order to roam about freely in their hometowns. Those who have cystic fibrosis, for example, are prone to flu and diseases that could immediately land a hospital visit. It is bizarre to think that these people lived in isolation and are accustomed to living the dreaded “new normal”, like social distancing and religiously using alcohol. For people like them, wearing a facemask symbolizes their freedom. But others consider the opposite and may be against the usage of facemasks even after the pandemic. This sculpture suggest that  facemasks will become the new norm and no matter how the people of this country reacts to the mandatory policy of wearing it, one must accept the process of safety measures to avoid risking another pandemic.
