3. Currently Reading

"The Weavers of Alamaxa" by Hadeer Elsbai !! It's the second book in a duology that I liked well enough. I'm not one to make an Avatar: The Last Airbender comparison lightly because I think it's an overused comparison, but it's extremely ATLA in the very basic concept of it😅 But the general plot is much different. It also takes place in fantasy Egypt, which is really nice to see!

4. Currently Watching:

I'm watching new episodes of "The Last of Us" season 2 as they're released every week! Otherwise, just youtube bullshit as usual.

Literally anything..... I haven't eaten yet today:(

Yeah, I think the clan moves around a lot (which made them difficult to pin down, and means Mire really doesn't get to visit their brother all that often), but they probably spent a significant amount of time around there.

I haven't designed Mire's brother yet, but the idea of him being very different from them is soooooo good. Quieter, a lot more subdued. Still kind and loving, but a less open to trusting people. He's maybe even skeptical of Mire when they first meet as adults...

OOOOOOH they were not originally born there in my canon, but I can be convinced 👀

Little baby Mercar born in Ferelden. Their Dalish clan travelling all the way to Tevinter in the early days of their life. And then the skirmish with the military happens and they're abandoned on the battlefield. Their clan returns to Ferelden eventually and they are all alone in Tevinter, far away from home. But they never know their origins.

Until one day they leave home, searching for answers. They find records of a tribe that fought with the military after making their way up from the south. They look at the map, noting that they likely travelled through the Fallow Mire. The word calls out to them - it has hints of their birth name, but it's different enough that it feels like something new.

And then one day they meet their twin brother, who stayed with the clan. He shares what happened and where they were born. And Mire's heart swells at the coincidence.

Born somewhere so dark and depressing, only to become a little optimist who tries to see the best in everyone. I may be in love with the idea 🫶
