General Caregiving Guide: Eridans
Typical Stature: eridans are on the smaller side ranging from 1'5" to 2'3"
Diet: seafood and enemies.
Temperament: cranky, prideful, needy
Preferred Environment: eridans require a basic seadwelling environment, but unlike feferies they will murder anything that enters their tank. Eridans prefer ranged weapons and will become sad if not provided access to their favorite troll safe nerf brand sniper rifles.
Enrichment: as mentioned above, they love Nerf guns, but also books, eridans will tear through libraries reading anything they can get their fins on. It is unclear how much they understand what they read, but it's clear they love it. Additionally, Eridan's love to do pagent work, they love to perform and be the center of attention, though it's the caretakers job to make sure they don't overexzert themselvs.
Lifespan: 60 to 100 years
Caretaking Tips: Much like Vriskas, Eridan's require constant and consistent attention, though what separates the two is the Eridan's need to be their caretakers favorite. They will become very aggressive and moody if they do not feel that they are the number one priority of their caretaker and don't do well in families. The best home for an eridan is a lonely single individual looking for a lifelong companion to dote on endlessly.

General caregiving guide: Vriskas
Typical Stature: Vriskas range anywhere from 2-2.5 feet tall with heavily variable weights and muscle build
Diet: vriskas eat bugs like there's no tomorrow, though they enjoy just about any food you give them.
Temperament: vriskas are the most 'confrontational' of the troll types. They deliberately take steps to frustrate and antagonize their caretakers if they feel they aren't getting what they want. Namely: attention. Vriskas thrive in the spotlight no matter why that light is on them.
Preferred Environment: Vriskas thrive when around other trolls, though it's important that the trolls they are around have a good sense of self worth and importance otherwise they tend to get steamrolled and goded into misbehaving when they wouldn't normally. So their ideal environments involve lots of other people/trolls but with enough one on one time with their caretakers that their attention needs are met
Enrichment: vriskas love playing complicated games of pretend with other trolls, or really anyone who will join them. Dice games are a favorite of vriskas as well as they can be quite the dice goblins. New shiny and interesting dice are excellent enrichment. [The eight sideds are their favorites]
Lifespan: 88 years to 888 no in-between.
Caretaking Tips: setting firm boundaries and making your vriska aware of them is a must. They will push the rules wherever they can and once you cut them slack it's over. However this should go without saying but physical dicapline is never a step you should be taking with any troll ever.

General Caregiving Guide: Nepetas
Typical Stature: On the shorter side, about 2'-3'. They typically weigh about 75 lbs, however are very strong for their size.
Diet: Nepetas are strictly carnivorous, and prefer raw meat to cooked food. They favor beef and pork, and unlike most trolls will grow to dislike bugs after their wriggler stage.
Temperament: Nepetas are friendly and snuggly, however have very strong hunting drives. Keep an eye on them to prevent dead neighborhood mice and birds from piling up on your front step.
Preferred Environment: Nepetas enjoy darker areas with plenty of cuddly pillows as well as boxes with blankets stuffed in them. They also love to spend time outside, but make sure to supervise them.
Enrichment: Cat toys like yarn, jingly balls, and wind-up mice are favorites among Nepetas. Scratching posts should also be provided due to their tendency to shred furniture.
Lifespan: Nepetas live for an average of 20 years.
Caretaking Tips: Nepetas do great with household cats! If you have no other trolls, cats make great company for Nepetas. Nepetas may also try to take care of kittens if you have them. They have a lot of energy, so ensuring they have a large variety of toys and lots of space to play is essential.

General Caregiving Guide: Tavroses
Typical Stature: Tavroses are about 3' 3" but tend to hunch over due to horn size. They weigh about 87 lbs on average.
Diet: Tavroses prefer "people food" and will eat pretty much anything. Many are vegetarian as well.
Temperament: Tavroses are very friendly and laid back, however often suffer from self esteem issues and lack confidence. They require a lot of reassurance and support.
Preferred Environment: Tavroses require wide spaces that are easy to navigate due to their large horn sizes impairing their movement. Large backyards are also recommending for larping space.
Enrichment: Tavroses greatly enjoy roleplaying, and dress-up. Making props and costumes with your Tavros is an excellent bonding activity! They also like Disney movies.
Lifespan: Tavroses live for an average of 25 years.
Caretaking Tips: Tavroses are prone to hip and leg complications, and mobility aids such as canes and wheelchairs may be necessary for them later in life. They also do not do very well around Vriskas, as they are often teased by them.

General Caregiving Guide: Equius
Typical Stature: They are average height 3-3.5 feet but have a frankly absurd amount of bulky muscle
Diet: They enjoy bugs, and will drink milk as if they need it to breathe, those aside, growing Equiuii require a very protein rich diet to keep them healthy and to prevent harmful muscle deterioration
Temperament: Very uppity and superior, Equiuii hold themselvs to the highest standards of behavior doing their best to follow any rules expected of them.  They will also attempt to guide other trolls into doing the same if within the same space
Environment: Equiuii enjoy lavish, yet functional surroundings, it’s important that you don’t mind whatever you put near him getting coated in sweat and motor oil though.
Preferred Enrichment: Robots robots robots! Equiuii love building, programming, and destroying robots! they feel less bad about breaking things they’ve made themselvs so be sure to provide ample robotics kits [found at any troll supply store] horse and cat plushies will also make for a very happy Equius
Lifespan: Equiuii can live up to 40 years
Caretaking Tips: due to their immense strength they are prone to breaking things, so an easily replaceable/repairable living space is a must

General Caregiving Guide: Karkats
Typical Stature: Karkats are a shorter variety of trolls averaging at about 3' 5" and weigh around 90 lbs.
Diet: Karkats enjoy junk food, especially popcorn. They are also very fond of dino nuggies (they like to sort them by shape). However, the junk food needs to be balanced with healthier options such as bugs.
Temperament: Karkats, while rarely physically aggressive towards caretakers, have very short tempers and tend to shout. Like most trolls, they are not very verbal but often pick up curse words and repeat them very easily, so be careful what you say around them.
Preferred Environment: Karkats especially prefer solitude and do not do well living with other trolls or with children. A quiet and dimly lit room is ideal for a Karkat with plenty of space for movie posters.
Enrichment: Karkats are very fond of movies, even more than other troll types. Preferences vary by Karkat but they seem to commonly enjoy movies starring Will Smith. Also, some Karkats have an affinity for coding, so if yours shows an interest, get them a troll-safe computer to use.
Lifespan: Karkats live for an average of 35 years but can live as long as 50 years in ideal environments.
Caretaking Tips: A gentle and understanding but firm approach is best in raising a Karkat. Thick skin is required as Karkats tend to insult their caretakers whenever they are upset, but this mainly stems from insecurity. Karkats like to socialize, but not prolonged socialization. A weekly supervised playgroup visit is enough for the average Karkat.

General Caregiving Guide: Gamzees
Typical Stature: Gamzees tend to range from 3' to 4' 3", making them a taller variety of trolls. Their average weight is about 80-90 lbs.
Diet: Gamzees enjoy bugs like most trolls do, but they also enjoy baked goods and Faygo. They might try to eat their sopor as well, however this behavior should be discouraged as it is quite dangerous.
Temperament: Gamzees tend to be very easy going and relaxed but can become quite violent and aggressive under certain circumstances, be it a stressful environment or when antagonized.
Preferred Environment: Gamzees like cool, dimly lit yet colorful rooms with plenty of space to make piles of their favorite objects. They also prefer narrow sleeping areas such as tunnels.
Enrichment: Gamzees are very fond of finger painting! They will typically try to finger paint using their sopor, however giving them non-toxic finger paint to use is the best option. A mat is recommended to have near Gamzees as they paint as they tend to make quite a mess. Also, Gamzees enjoy tunneling and may try to crawl into your vents. Buy a soft play tunnel as an alternative to discourage venting.
Lifespan: Gamzees can live for up to 50 years, so they are a long lasting commitment and adopting one should not be taken lightly.
Caretaking Tips: Gamzees tend to get dirtier than most trolls so frequent baths are necessary. Also, do not look straight into a Gamzee's eyes before bed. If they are upset with you, they may use their psychic ability to give you clown-related nightmares.

Note
I recently started dating, but I have a Kanaya at home. Any suggestions for introducing my partner?
Kanayas are typically well-mannered, so there should not be too many difficulties. Giving your Kanaya some space, introduce her to your partner. She will likely have no issues, but give her options in how much she wants to interact with them since they're someone new. If your partner is around a lot, your Kanaya will certainly warm up to them!

General Caregiving Guide: Feferies
Typical Stature: Feferies are the most varied in height among the troll types, ranging from approximately 2′ to 4′ across the type.  As they reach matureity, they will start to acquire thick bodyfat for insulation as they will also prefer colder water.  They pack on muscle very easily as well, generally being one of the strongest Troll types out there.
Diet: In order to be healthy, Feferies require a robust seafood diet including shellfish, aquatic mammals, and saltwater fish at it’s most basic. Feferies are solely carnivorous, if you are not prepared for that do not take in a Feferi
Temperament: Though they are efficient, and vicious killers with their aquatic prey, Feferies have no natural land predators and are thus very friendly when on land.  They are free spirited and ourgoing, enjoying socialization, and one on one time with their caretakers.
Environment: Water is a must, weather that be a deep indoor pool [20′ at a minimum] or a local landlocked pond as well as an average humidity of 60% and their homes must be kept at at least 80%  [DO NOT LET FEFERIE’S INTO THE OCEAN UNSUPERVISED THEY WILL OVER HUNT AND DEVASTATE THE LOCAL ECOSYSTEMS]
Preferred Enrichment: Above water bubble machines fascinate them, as well as flowey clothing.  Diving toys can be good exercise, as well as keeping their pools stocked with edible fish for them to chase [Note they may take a liking to them and start keeping them as pets. this is normal]
Lifespan: Feferies live upwards of 80 years
Caretaking Tips: Be sure to let Feferies explore, as well as letting them frequently meet with other trolls, a lonely Feferi is a sad Feferi.
