still basking in the element of self pity, jayden had set out in search of something to better occupy his time. plotting revenge and annoying gigi was getting him nowhere sadly - he needed to do something productive. studying was definitely out of the question so he sat down and had a long thought about what was missing from his bitter life. a headache and a few manly tears of frustration later and he still had nothing - he supposed he could settle for learning quidditch. 

clearly not a wise choice. groaning as a bludger smashed against his stomach, his face smacked against the ground with a sickening crunch while a louder, more pained groan followed. in that moment, jayden suddenly reconsidered any bad thing he had ever said about studying. studying doesn’t give you a bloody nose and an aching ribcage. “oh my god,” he mumbled to himself, rolling over onto his side and away from the girl he had asked to teach him - clutching his stomach with his eyes clenched shut. “fuck - i think i’m dying.”

it was unusual to see the great hall so devoid of people, quieted chatter from those who remained scattered across the room. most had left to spend the break with their family, something jayden would have been more than happy to do. but no, his parents just had to spend christmas on a fucking couple’s cruise. they even refused to let him house sit, claiming they already a friend doing the job. their house was too much work for a boy like him, too important to leave in the hands of a irresponsible teenage boy (their words, not his) so he reluctantly remained at hogwarts. how exciting.

anyway, he had prepared a special gift for his ever so thoughtful parents - a nice thank you for screwing him over on christmas. the gift sat innocently on one of the tables in the great hall - placed between jayden and jisoo who sat opposite each other. inside the unwrapped box sat a pie so cleverly set to explode upon contact and a few bad chocolate frogs, just to add that extra wow! factor he needed for a real showstopper. just some wrapping paper and a nice little bow and it would be ready to be shipped out - he just needed to brag a bit. 

“isn’t it amazing?” shooting his friend a smirk, he gentle taps the box with a finger before waggling his eyebrows. he had told her of his rather childish gift, the gift so childish but yet so amazing. he was a genius. “once they get their stubby little fingers on this pie, they’ll regret leaving me for a stupid cruise. and not letting me house sit, what’s that even about!”

little things about jayden for you here, briefings about his background so y’all won’t have to read through the nonsense i call his background

okay so jayden has moved around all his life bc of his parent’s jobs (they’re healers, well known and liked and all that and they basically go wherever they’re needed) so he’s been homeschooled up until hogwarts

and even then he didn’t really do much bc he’d either get his little sister (when she could) or parents to do his work

so he’s Wild Child™ bc he parents never really cared much about his studies and or behavior

not that he minded of course

so he’s done whatever he wanted for awhile and now at hogwarts he’s like oh rules ew studying ew magic that i suck at ew

he’s also a little overconfident shit

he knows he’s hot

he thinks he’s the shit at everything (yikes okay let him be delusional)

but he’s also softhearted wouldn’t hurt a fly

the gentle giant

he just wants friends and to have fun okay that’s all

and now for the plots - not much BUT THEY’RE SOMETHING. and they’re all set during the break bc yea

his parents left him stranded at hogwarts over the break and he’s bitter af someone pls stop him from sending them an exploding pie and bad chocolate frogs in the mail

break’s almost over and he has to trash at least one slytherin’s room. you in or out?

“we got a little rowdy in the great hall and started a food fight with the few students that had remained and now we have to clean it up”

you tried to teach jayden how to play quidditch and it ended with a trip to the hospital wing… oops???
